You guys are so RAD!
If you're sad that you didn't get a video about reptiles today, don't fret. We will have one for you this Wednesday! That's right, two videos a week 😁
Still getting used to that idea
Hopefully you find it acceptable 😅
Woo hoo! 2 videos thank you very much!!! Thank you all! I really appreciate the amazing content you all create!!!
You're very welcome! Thank you for saying that. We are investing a lot in doing two videos a week, so that really means a lot.
You should definitely do another video about ackies soon! Your last one made me get one actually! The price is a lot but it’s sooooo worth it.
If Clint were my biology teacher back in high school, I would probably be a scientist rather than a mechanic right now. Learning is way more fun when the teacher cares.
Same
Just do it!! - Shia Lebeuf
Exactly
you'd be a herpetologist in the LDS no doubt.
But you would stop learning this way by being scientist, although you could continue that outside your job
Would definitely not be mad if this channel became Clint's reptiles and amphibians. This was such a fun video
Clint's Herps wouldn't have the same kind of name recognition, but I'd be down for it!
Mollie Clint’s reptiles, amphibians, birds, insects and arachnids.
Clint’s fantastic beasts.
MiLaws that name is perfect.
😃😃
I just giggle at how excited you get over all the animals! Your enthusiasm is infectious!
I really don't know why I love animals so much, but I always have. I don't know how anybody could avoid geeking out about them.
so true
Same here!! It’s probably my favorite thing about him 😊
I was annoyed at first and now it’s just so wholesome

"its basically a giant mouse eating decoration", so like a constrictor got it
Truth. My Sonoran boa has never refused a meal and barely moves. No wonder they are prone to becoming chonky
Once I went to a zoo with a constrictor 2 times the same week it was in the exact same position that last time
Amazing! It'd be awesome if you started making individual amphibian videos such as "The best pet frog?" or "The best pet salamander?" I'm sure no one would object 😁
Clint: "He'll sit in one place for days on end."
Me: "Mood"

It’s my spirit animal lol
MOOOOOOOOOOOOD
I’ve probably said this before but
How is your channel not more popular?!?!?!
All the spider videos. Spiders are terrifying. Sorry spider lovers, you terrify me.
This is such a great video
(Also I like your bright green shirt lol)
It seemed appropriate :)
I subbed after 45 seconds. Basically as soon as I saw how excited you got over the frog in front of you. Your enthusiasm is delightful!
EDIT: HECK yes you mentioned Budgett's Frogs!! My favorites!!
Dh
I’m glad you included the White’s tree frog. They’re quite common in parts of eastern Australia where the climate is warm and humid enough. They’re not afraid to live near humans, so it’s not at all uncommon to find them round, or even inside, houses. When they’re attacked by a cat they emit a startlingly loud scream. It can be a bit alarming, however, to lift the toilet lid and find one of them in the bowl, staring up at you.
I'm surprised you didn't cover tiger salamanders! Very similar to spotted salamanders but BIG! I'm super psyched that you're covering amphibians too! Maybe next you can do 5 of the best invertebrates.
I considered them. They likely will make future lists. I just love me some spotted salamanders...
also fire salamanders
Best birds

@@ClintsReptiles I think you might already have in mind what I'm asking, but I think your new release schedule opens up the perfect opportunity...
White's tree frog: "Hi-ho, Kermit the Frog here!" (alternatively, "This is Kermit the Frog, reporting live!")
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
F**king Normies! REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
GoHerping has a great video on what can go right and wrong in keeping of axolotls and Snake Discovery has great videos on keeping toads and salamanders.
"Basically a giant mouse eating decoration" LOL I love it
When Clint mentioned cons about owning a "giant super frog," I wasn't expecting them to be that they have fangs and might try to eat you 🤭
Axolotls are AMAZING!!! I’ve had a few as pets. They’re wonderful & entertaining. One of mine would take worms right from my fingers and they all happily ate pellets too. As long as you can get clean & chemical free water that stays cool enough & good very low flow filtration, they’re super easy and very rewarding to keep.
J t I have e two of them. They are super cute
Agreeeed! I love my little axie!
I like the leucisistic axolotl's with their pink fluffy gills, they are the perfect girl's amphibian.
Yes they are! What pellets do you use? I have a 2 (almost three) year old albino female. I give her shrimp (live) and some bloodworms but wanna try pellets since she likes eating out of my hand sometimes.
When I was a kid, my parents was doing dishes one day after dinner and my mom screamed. My dad ran over to see what was going on and an Axolotl had come up through the drain! We ended up keeping him for a few years. Such a cool pet!
Okay so may I ask... HOW.
@@CaptainWoodyThePirate I honestly wish I knew the answer to that question. My guess is someone had flushed him or something and he found his way up there. It was the first time I had ever seen one when I was a kid.
@@PrehistoricEnthusiast only thing I can think of is it was flushed or something and had found it’s way into the pipe. I really don’t know lol but I’ll never forget it!
Thank you so much! I love amphibians and have been hoping you would make a video like this! I hope you make many more.
You're welcome! We will if people enjoy our amphibian videos as much as our reptile videos :)
I have about 200 spotted salamander eggs in the vernal pool on my property, I can't WAIT to watch them grow up!
Laura Corriveau did they hatch? I need to know just how cute they are lol!!!
such adorable animals on this list!
one thing I'd like to share coming from the fish-keeping side of things is, you have to be careful about feeder fish. I've seen a lot of experienced hobbyists advising against getting feeders from pet stores, or if you do, quarantine and medicate them since it's pretty likely that they'll have diseases and parasites from the over-crowded conditions that they're kept in. not sure if amphibians have to worry about the diseases that fish can get, but parasites are never a fun thing to have to deal with
Amphibians rock. I have 4 dart frogs and they are fun to watch play in their home and their pond. I would def watch more videos about all amphibians.
I dont think that you know how long I've waited for this video. Thank you Clint. You are amazing.
I've had an axolotl for 11 months now and I love it.
I find it super easy to take care of.
I clean the tank once a week and the filter once a month. Taking out 2/5 to 3/5 of the water depending on how messy it is.
She's about 2 years old now as far as I know and nearly a foot long.
So glad you featured Axolotls!😍
clint’s mom is like the ultimate patron
she knows all that goes on before it goes on
She gets some awesome perks, but the cost is unimaginable... Happy mother's day, ma!
#6
Iberian Ribbed Newts.
They are totally aquatic and somewhat easy to breed in captivity.
They need an aquarium setup with maybe a turtle float for some (rare) basking.
Tight fitting lid and keep the water lvl a couple inches low.
Cool Temps between 65-72°F
They'll eat most frozen and live, including blackworms, ghost shrimp and wigglers. No guppies!
Love it! Thanks for giving the amphibians some love! I would like to point out that most salamaders reserve the option of becoming adults without metamorphizing. Usualy they only do this if the area around the pool they were born in is uninhabitable, and even then only a portion of the population usualy chooses this option.
I LOVE the spotted salamander and I’m so happy that you said they are awesome. I cannot wait for you to review them. I just think they are the cutest little things!
Such fun little slime dragons!
Same here
My local pet store had a pixie that was over 40(RIP Kyle) and currently have one that’s over 20(long live Stevie) It’s crazy how long they live.
I think I could sit and listen to you reading the phone book and just love it..(do they even make phone books any more? )
Anyway..what I mean is you have such delight and enthusiasm in your voice when you talk about...welll....everything! Your joy describing your reptiles (and in this case amphibians) just radiates through my tablet screen and it touches my heart...and I'm positive everyone else that watches your channels feels the same way I do. You have the heart the soul and the spirit of a child! Seeing things through your eyes and hearing about them with your voice is such an amazing Joy Ride. I can't wait for the Animal Planet people get in touch with you and give you your own TV show! Hey if a dude from Utah can share a video of singing with his 4 year old daughter on UA-cam and now get millions of dollars and sponsors and EVERY OTHER PERC that comes their way then I KNOW THE WORLD IS HUNGRY AND READY for some adorable reptile nerd/genius with a Masters Degree in Biology (and who owns his own Tagu named Gus-Gus) to have his videos go viral and ending up with his own TV Show!!
You are so excited and enthusiastic talking about these amphibians; absolutely adorable. Subscribed!
Watching the frog repeatedly say "welp, I'm out" was just as entertaining as what you're saying 😂
Want to add African Clawed frogs to the list! Super active, charming and interactive. The only thing is you can't pick them up. Well, of course you CAN, but they become the spawn of a cat and a soap and there is no way you can have them in your hand for more than 5 seconds before they are off lol
I caught a spotted salamander yesterday but I let him go, his name Frank.
He sounds nice.
Ey b0ss
Clint's Reptiles he was so cute! I wanted to keep him, but he wanted to go home 😢
Was he playing a flute?
Totally with you on the spotted salamander. An extremely underrated pet amphibian. A personal favorite is the lesser siren because they're so...primordial. :)
Now I get why my Mom said it was a good thing that I found a frog living in my well (it's an old hand dug well with rocks to climb on) - that it was a sign that the water was good.
Love your science-based, friendly, informative videos and your obvious love and enthusiasm for all of the beautiful critters! Was wondering if you'd consider a video on the various cave geckos? They are beautiful, and their care requirements would seem to make them a good choice for beginners, unless I am missing something.
You're so charismatic! I love how much you care about these creatures and how ready you are to share this passion c:
what i love about axolotl is they have super regeneration power
I know a place that has a salamander that's stuck in his water stage and hes over 15 inches maybe 20 inches hes a stud he has hanging nuts and everything all the other in the cattle tank are 5 inches and smaller.
@@rangernation4538 now that is rad!
ranger nation where?
I love that the first thing you said was "amphibians are not reptiles" 😂
Another great video, Clint--you and your team produce, by far, some of the best edutainment content available on UA-cam. Really glad to see an amphibian video as well--even though they're not reptiles, you are correct in thinking that there is much crossover interest from those of us who enjoy reptiles. Just a quick note to let you know how much I enjoyed this!
I came for some advice about frogs and this man gave me a whole amphibian education. amazing work. I can only imagine what he has to say about reptiles!
Huzzah!! We've dipped our toes into the amphibian realm!
Their pudgy hands and big eyes are what make frogs my favorite animals ughh I just love them so much
axolotls are not legally sold in California, but I've always loved them.
Very VERY true they are all afraid as they are invasive species! If you ever have the hance you should TOTALLY get one! They are amazing! They will eat right from your hand or from tweezers! VERY amazing animals to keep. AND GREAT for beginners!
Stop doing such informative and well made videos! I can’t keep buying more pets! You’re feeding my addiction Clint!
ADF's are adorable frogs that are small, aquatic, and they sing!
This video is what started my axolotl obsession, I’m surprised they aren’t more common pets! Thanks for making this video!!!!
More amphibians content! Hard to find good stuff on UA-cam relative to reptiles who have a wealth of content.
Why did hearing him talk make me cry, I love his voice so much.
All the frogs look so unique! Nice video as always!! 👍🏻🐸
Edit: My favorite was the spotted salamander! I love the golden spots.
I remember you! Owen still loves cheetahs. We watched a cheetah documentary last night :)
I love it aswell but I don't want it wild caught
Clint's Reptiles 👍🏻Awsome👍🏻! 😄.
my baby bullfrog just started using its hunting skills after being 3-4 months old (as a frog, not tadpole). he used to just wait for the food to go by him or wait for me to move it to him. now, he actually hops to the food and “sneaks up” on it. so cute because he jiggles everytime he moves lol
when I had axolotl their bite is like been attack by velcro ;3
My axolotl is too nice to bite me
I just found your channel (recommended because I watch snake discovery) and I’m obsessed already!!!!! I just got my first amphibian in addition to my two snakes. He is a little southern toad who is missing a leg and an eye, his name is Steve the Pirate lol I can’t wait to keep watching your videos!!! Thanks Clint!
I want to say thank you for all of these videos, because they are so helpful and amazing at the same time. :)
You're very welcome! Thank you so much for the gratitude and the kind words.
Love that you added Amphibians to your repertoire of learning. We have a pac man frog and a red eyed tree frog. Such amazing animals.
Thanks clint! I really like axolotls but was always dissappointed when a bunch of people kept telling me they were a pain :/ they really arent! And im glad about that.
I love how happy you are when you talk about these animals! It's infectious. :)

Are those avians? I know they are maniraptors, but IIRC avian dinosaurs are the proper name for birds.
Thank you for giving good care tips on the axoltol I have 16 of them and constantly see people giving bad tips but yours were spot on
Can you do one on dendrobates and Poison Dart Frogs? And maybe Tiger salamanders too.
Dart frogs are so great, my favourite "look don't touch" pet (not because they're toxic here, of course, because they're so damn tiny ❤❤)
Poison dart frogs: Only keep captive bred ones, as captive bred poison dart frogs will lose their toxicity. Feed them pinhead crickets and fruit flies (preferably wingless mutant fruit flies). Keep them in a terrarium (preferably with good heating and moisture (not too soggy to avoid mold), lots of plants (preferably bromeliads), and some water).
I’ve heard that there was a certain tank that was designed to keep humidity and heat to the proper amount.
On the topic of frogs, why not Pacmans
Dang every video I watch you always look so genuinely happy and excited...this is a man who truly loves and adores these little creatures
Video maybe someday about the American Toad?
More likely now than ever before :)
I came here for screams and memes, but this Budgett’s frog really let me down with the amount of screaming that took place today. All jokes aside, great video! :)
5:38 ANOtHER con is their super sized poop. What comes in must come out!
And it smells worse than death!
I have Axolotls and I adore my derpy little things. I have a dirty Leucy, a dwarf golden albino and a melanoid they’re by far my favorite and they’re fun to watch!
I love the content that you make and your videos give me amazing thoughts on what animals I want next
Keep these coming man I learned a lot and the fact that all of these things eat anything that moves cracks me up.
Will do! Love the comment.
Love your vids, I try to watch as much as I can and learn! I have a pac man frog and I just got Amazon milk frogs 🐸. Keep up the great work!
You have some rad frogs!
DoLoMyte000 I used to have some milk frogs as well!
Animals 101 that’s awesome 👍👍👍, do u have any tips that you don’t mind sharing?
I have a marbled salamander. I hardly ever see him because he likes to dig tunnels in his dirt and is pretty much always under the surface, but I love him nonetheless. I don’t handle him very often, really only to check on him. He’s a just a shy, slimy little guy and I love him just the way he is. It’s fun to watch crickets vanish into his little tunnel entrances.
Yess finally....and very good video as always.
Thank you so much!
How did 51 people dislike this video?! That is sad because this video is stinkin' rad just like the rest of Clint's reptiles videos!!!
I have recently adopted (rescued) two white's tree frogs. They're amazing. Very similar to a crested gecko except their diet is even easier.
I don't know how a diet could be easier than crested gecko diet.
@@ClintsReptilesI guess for me it's because you don't need any diet powder solution. They'll happily gobble up any insects. Comes down to preference though.
Keeping axolotls was a great in-between for me as I couldn't yet have a reptile and had always had fish. But honestly now that I have all 3 I'm still so much in love with my axolotls, they're just great. Always curious about what you're doing. (Funny story: when I first showed my baby axolotl to my nan she said "what a beautiful pleco!")
Hey Clint, love your videos, would you consider doing a video on Pacman frogs? I'm curious what your opinion on them is.
Another amphibian that I've had and I find to be really cool is a mudpuppy, they look alot like an axilotle but they're a little bit different, they're commonly brown and black with a sort of maroon or dark red gills, they're also a type of salamander
"They breathe through their skin" Do they, Hideo Kojima?
I have just discovered your channel. It is very informative. thank you. I am also appreciative that you cover amphibians as well.
Frogs are the only thing that make me happy at this point
Budgetts frogs are things nightmares are made of😳
You have silly nightmares 😂
Would love to hear you cover African Clawed Frogs, and African Dwarf Frogs.
Do you think you could make a video covering Abronias soon? Saw some at my local expo and I’m kinda interested in getting one now
Also just an FYI: In your Best Lizards playlist you have a Food Network Video in there that I don’t think has anything to do with reptiles 😂
GoatDude Was it a Chopped episode where they cooked rattlesnake or something like that? 😂
Got it. Thanks for the heads up. I do plan to make that video ASAP.
Your *"hi there"* was the most positive thing I've ever heard. I just got here, looking for pet frog videos and I love you already. I'm learning so much❤
can you use any sort of nitrile/latex/ect gloves to handle amphibians?
and thanks for the great video, but I wish it had toads! they're my favorite :D
That should work great. And yes, toads are awesome. Stay tuned!
@@ClintsReptiles yayy, I can't wait!
I love frogs. I was plannin to get one and you have persuaded me to look into the African Bullfrog. I will do my research and might get one in the future...
Yo!!!! I really wanna get an Axolotl BUT how do I convince my mom to allow me to get one. Everyone in my family is okay with it but her. Not the care of anything like that. But the way it looks😕. How do I explain it’s normal looking and not anything too weird and exotic.
5:49 I like how this was edited so that it looks like the axolotl is reacting to hearing the name of its species
16:34 it is wednesday my dudes
I get what you meme now!
Ive been waiting sooo long for this. I have an axolotl and a whites tree frog. I really want to invest in a spotted salamander as well.
Can you handle amphibians with sterile powder free latex or vinyl gloves?
Thanos actually made some valid points I’ve seen them recommended for handling reptiles
I found this channel with my son, about a year ago, looking for more information on panther chameleons. After doing research, I concluded that the chameleon wasn’t the right pet for us (right now). After watching all your videos, we found that the pixie frog was the right pet for us and we found someone rehoming a male in our area. We brought him home and he’s doing great. Thanks for your enthusiasm and teaching. Looking forward to visiting the reptile room someday!
Yay, we have started to branch out on other animals
It seemed like the right time.
2030 hello guys we're looking at a French Bulldog to see if it's the right dog for you
Yesssss been waiting for this one for awhile keep up the variety like this I have a pixie frog and I love these kind of videos
Hopefully it was worth the wait.
You need a frog so it can tell you if it's Wednesday or not, my dudes
I have had a colony of black yellow spotted salamanders who took up residence in the area of my stone wall at the corner of my house and driveway. These cuties appeared in 1985 and have thrived. Every time it rains they wash down the drain pipe and onto the driveway. If it has been really wet, I find little ones in the garages. My job is to gather them and put them back on top of the wall into the foliage to find their ways home. I love the little guys and they are happy sharing my yard. The biggest one I have ever seen must have been a pregnant Mama as she was huge.
Let me tell a little story.
