Don;t blame Oliver for wanting his people to be able to afford tickets for the family night out, This is the reason I don't go to many concerts too high of cost
fr its bs
But there was 500 people willing to pay it so why all this Drama just do the show take the money and move on to the next venue
@@rustyshackleford6035you don't get it
@@Hayden-unkown Uh... English please?
Turns out it was a publicity stunt. Oliver agreed to the prices in a contract before the show, he knew the prices.
He didn't even blame the venue in his posts or video, the venue then went and slammed him in an absolute petty little post.
They are just trying to get him out of the spot light and take him down a few pegs.. if you have a different message that goes against the norm they will do everything they can to stop you
greeeeeeeeeeeeed....me me me me me me me me world
Considering he never signed the contract how can you open with that he signed the contract. He doesnt have a manager get your facts straight. instead of trying to twist his words. Oliver (Chris) has put up his reply on facebook which will help you get your facts straight. This is a good humble man and keeps winning the hearts of people around the world every day.
Manager’s sign ALL the contracts, never the artist. Hence, having a manager… Oliver is shitty for not taking responsibility over his manager’s actions, instead just cool with throwing someone else under the bus. Rich man north of Richmond is a fucking fraud haha
He doesn't have a manager? If he's getting paid that kinda money he needs a manager. He can't manage himself. Obviously since he's changed the venue AGAIN as well as the date.
You know for a fact that he didn't have an agency agreement with his plumber friend to represent him and book gigs on his behalf? If not, no one in "the business" is going to want to deal with his amateur "I didn't personally sign the contract" nonsense.
@@kbophotoHe probably does but this person probably doesn't understand the concept of an "agent" and doesn't understand that sending out someone to book gigs in your behalf WITHOUT an agency agreement in place is arguably worse than forgetting to tell your agent that ticket price is a deal breaker.
@@wgmyler State where you get your information to say that no one is going to deal with him when he already had many places planned prior to this incident?
In other words, Anthony is the hottest thing going right now, and the venue owner decided to be one of the rich men north of Richmond and take advantage of it at the expense of hard-working people. The end.
💯 you're correct there!!
Nobody offers a contract and does a deal to "break even". That venue stood to make a bunch of money off of this artist, good for him to stand up for what he thinks is right.
I agree that $99 is too expensive for a concert ticket. Especially for A new artist like this. However you misunderstood what he was saying. He meant they would break even based solely on the ticket sales. In other words they're not making any profit off from that $99 ticket price. The actual prophet is made on liquor and food sales. They actually said that in the video. It's actually pretty standard for it to work that way.
To be honest for a guy who's just only recently become famous on social media, $120,000 payout for a single show with the venue covering all lodging, catering and security is a pretty god damn good payday.
AMEN!! Having worked in the concert/festival biz for a number of years, I know firsthand how greedy and cutthroat the typical promoter/venue owner is. They damn sure don’t do it to “break even”.
@@faraway3032 Yes I understood you the first time when you said they're not doing it to break even. My point was he didn't say they were doing it to break even. They literally said they rely on bar sales to make the extra money. I just didn't think it sounded like you understood or caught that part. I thought my interaction was pretty polite but apparently you're easily offended.
@@faraway3032Also I don't agree with the idea that without the band there wouldn't be anybody there. I do a lot of custom electronic installation work in commercial buildings like bars and clubs. I've had owners tell me that they're not even really interested in being a live venue because they can make just as much money off from having a DJ. To me that's truly pathetic but the live music scene just isn't what it used to be unfortunately.
@@HeavyInstinct It looks like Oliver was to paid $120k plus lodging, etc, and the venue had to sell 1,200 tix at $100 to break even. Then if they sold out with 1,500 tix, they'd only make $30,000. I mean, venues should make money. 20% of the total revenue from the show seems pretty fair.
He has booked the Knoxville Convention Center for $25 a ticket.
👏 👍 🙏 ❤🙏
Gotta love him. Always stand up for your values!
Break even with Oliver ? A complete lie. This guy should've been honest and up front. Now, I will never go there.
He is paying himself a nice 80-120k bonus 😂
Good for him! All this price gouging on tickets is insane
The venue owner is sleazy and clearly lying in this piece. You don't have to be a body language expert to see with your own eyes how shady he is. He's been caught in multiple lies already and has currently turned off comments on every FB post for months. He's is deleting and blocking people as fast as he can, because he knows free speech lets the truth be shown to anyone. I don't want regular hard working folks to lose their jobs, but if this venue folds it will 100% be the owner's fault.
Got to love big media capitalizing on the man who won't give them a second of his time.
God bless this man!
I payed 12 dollars and 25 cents to see Fleetwood Mac in 1980. The value of the dollar was about one 3 times what it is now. So a fair price would be 36 dollars.
$120,000 for that dump? That seems kinda high, considering the amount of money they make from the bar.
The contract they said they signed said they were to pay Oliver Anthony 120k for him to sign at a capacity of 1500$ that's 150k- overhead that's break even and what the bar would do would be the profit would be a great night for the venue but if this is true he shouldn't ask for 120k to perform
I don't think Oliver would have asked for $120k. He doesn't have a manager or a promoter. He might now. But last week, he had friends helping him book appearances. They don't know anything about contracts, and it shows. Sounds, to me, like the venue was taking advantage of that, and taking advantage of his fans. The venue has other live shows coming up with $25 ticket prices (Quiet Riot and Sammy Kershaw). @@Ty81494
OMG. I just realized that none of the events listed on their website are live on-stage acts, just some kind of rebroadcast of events performed elsewhere. What kind of venue is CEJ? Why would anyone book a live gig there? @@Ty81494
Why does this guy seem so dishonest? Because nobody sells a venue to break even this is a business go get them Chris. You are the product. Although I think you are worth that ticket price, I honor and respect your wishes to not charge people that astronomical amount . Good on you son❤
" that astronomical amount . "
You've not been to a concert recently.
"He shoulda picked up the phone" and you shouldn't have started out by needing to be told you're gouging people. You can make your money however you see fit but don't get pissy when overcharging people backfires on you. You made a grab for some cash and it could have paid off but it didn't. Win some, lose some. You lost. Suck it up. Appreciate all that Chris is doing in the name of his grandfather Oliver.
I'm proud of the guy
Disingenuous to insinuate that he signed the contract.
A man of his words!!
I stand with Oliver 100%
Just find a pasture somewhere on private land. Someone out there will donate the audio equipment and just ask everyone who comes for donations. Cut the venues and record labels out completely. To hell with them
huge liability when that many ppl + alcohol are involved (and likely drugs as well). They need sufficient number of bathrooms, security at all points, adequate parking, insurance to cover the event, staffing for concessions, running it/post event clean-up, trash pick-up, someone to run the sound board/dj/lights, etc.
I heard about a passed out guys head run over in a field party in Stafford VA in the mid 80s but he was ok bc it was swampy where he fell out and his head sunk in.
ABSOLUTELY AWESOME Brother!!! Just have the public read reviews of his Venue. Not all the problems reside North of Richmond
If he wanted the venue to charge less per ticket, he should've requested a less outrageous fee of $120K for the night.
I didn't return to a job after seeing how much they over charged for tax filing. If you filed online it via the numerous software you could buy you would spend 15 to 45 bucks. The company i worked for charged 300 for a simple return. I felt so bad I told a few people where they can go to get a free return cause they could not afford such a ridiculous price.
Solid artist but the music business will ruin him. Keep him honest.
Much respect
Of course Oliver Anthony is clearly in the wrong here for sending out a manager to book gigs without telling him ticket price is a deal breaker and then pulling out an amateur "I didn't personally sign the contract" exuse. A decent "man of the people" would've recognized HIS OWN mistake and got paid less than $120k for an hour in order to bring the price down.
Have the show at Brushy Mountain!
Trying to make the most humble man in America seem like he did something wrong, when all he wants is for everything to be fair. Shame on you for having absolutely no dignity
Ooops he got caught overcharging and tried to shift the blame to the venue mgmt. What a scumbag
Well he got in the news and now he finds ways to stay in the news.
That bar owner is going to more than "break even" on his bar receipts. He got greedy and lost his opportunity. FAFO
Good for him i love this man ❤ nobody should have to pay that much for a ticket 😡 much love brother from a small town in Butler Kentucky.... johnny Richmond
Break even my foot
Sorry about your foot 🤣
It's hilarious to me that you're trying to smear him with this bullshit.
150k payout, they’d have to sell 1500 tickets just to pay him to perform. Plus hotel fees for Oliver and his management.
That news anchors voice is worse than nails on a chalkboard
They forgot to calculate the beer sales
Go ahead and try to sue him. You WILL go out of business. Let it go.
Someone is fixing to learn about the legal side of the music business.
Play at the norva in VA please!!!! I will be the first to buy your ticket.
If Anthony is getting a $120,000 pay day what gives unless the owner is embellishing.
Oliver Anthony is now in a new world......where everyone wants to use him for content.
People have paid more for less quality art in the past, so the whole thing is understandable on both sides.
Team Chris. 100%.
Venue capacity is 1500 people
Thats 150,000$ of tickets
Oliver wanted 120,000$
Leaves 30k and dont forget taxes come outta this too so not a true 30k
Overhead for the venue easly 20-30k between labor, bills, ect
I agree dont charge for meet and greets but to ask for 120k to preform and be mad about 100$ tickets is fucking hilarious how dumb his team he is. Like your trying to make the venue look bad when your team is the one asking for 120k not to mention that doesnt include flights and hotels the venue was going to get for them thats another 5-10k easly just so yall know this venue didnt do anything wrong and the man didnt even have the balls to call him and talk to him before ranting on social media like a school girl thats a damn shame 😂
If the 120,000 Oliver was to be paid is true where did he think It was going to come from? Accepting the story as reported I side with the proprietor. So now I'll go play the festival where they charge $5 for a 12 oz bottle of water.
No real fault here, the business has to pay people etc, thats just the way it is,
Just proves the guy is not a scumbag like Taylor Swift
Go you oliver time these over paid celebrity stop making us pay more than our rent for tickets (i kno 100$ isnt rent) everyone needs to put their foot down in what world do we live in that a celebrity makes more than a dr who saves lives
Cotton eye joes is a joke
Old Chuck was gonna ride Anthony like a borrowed mule.. and Break everyone off..
Bruh done madr the news
Break even? You do the math.
Well they are on the same page, so make it happen.
Hed never open for Taylor then good he doesnt want that lyfestyle
Bud Light the Joe!!!
It's a cover for one also let him cook
Owner is a leech. He’s just trying to make money off of another man’s talent. There’s no way he was just trying to break even.
fjb!!! TRUMP 2024 MAGA!!!!!!!!!
look, he has ZERO VOICE in ticket prices when his team agrees to be a hired act at a venue. If team Oliver Anthony wants ongoing success in this project, they should refrain from stinging Venues which "hire" them to perform a live show. Otherwise, rent a spot, sell your tickets, play a show. I know, that takes a team, a crew, time. They've skipped all that (so it 'appears'). .... actually, could've played the show, for tickets, cheap tickets, like people lined up for blocks to get those tickets, "look at this massive turnout for ---- ) ... but wait, they've already agreed to 120 grand without tix ? ........ oh i get it, they never intended to play cotton eye, now did they
First off, no manager should be talking ticket prices, as that's an agent's job. The manager should've *then* called Oliver re: prices and say, hey, let's maybe NOT ask for 120k guarantee. That's quite a large ask for a new artist.
I’m confused… was the artist aware the manager was trying to get 120k per show? If so, the pricing of tickets are his fault not the venue owner. That’s also a ridiculous price to pay/charge to hear him play repubta*d anthems.
Of course they didn't play the full clip of what Oliver Anthony said. Maybe you should watch that instead of MSM clip agenda's. He didn't blame the venue or put them down. The venue owner actually got uptight without provoke. Oliver Anthony actually said if need be he would refund the $ if there was a problem. It was a mistake & a learning curve. As for repubta*d anthems you obviously haven't been paying attention to his music nor how he slammed the GOP for using his song during the debates as being the exact people he was talking about. He's neither Dem nor Republican & plenty of normal everyday people of all races etc. can relate to what he's saying. You should watch reaction video's from Progressives to Conservatives. Them Richmen North of Richmond love to divide us by race, politics, gender, religion etc. They get richer & we fight each other instead of them.
He posted the video on UA-cam too. Didn't blame the facility or his friend who is currently his manager. He stated at one point it was his own fault for not being more hands on with booking places. It was a learning curve for someone who's never had to deal with this stuff before. Even offered to reimburse his fans from his own pocket if necessary. Then the place goes and slams him.
@@annief9063 Why do people respond to strangers on the internet with paragraphs when they're butt hurt or triggered? I'm not reading all that shit lady.🤣
@@SchnoogansMcDufftldr he doesn’t like republicans, slammed the GOP for using his song, outwardly bad mouthes both them and dems in his songs. AKA: you’re dumb.
