I would prefer Elektra to just fall dead on the stage, not be like Brunnhilde and immolate herself. The dance however was manic and expressive. It was very keeping with the character.
It's not Brunnhilde's Immolation either, but Elektra's dance should be properly manic, ecstatic, rhapsodic--enough to kill her in its joyous abandon. The singing is questionable--it didn't sound like she was connected to the orchestra at all (maybe because the orchestra was behind her)--but she really inhabited the role to the bone, moreso than any other singer I have seen.
Every role she takes on she does better than anyone else. I wish there were more DVDs with her.
Loved that she actually performed a dance of exultation
Some of the best acting I have seen of this role. Not just some fat lady rocking back and forth. Well done!!
IMPRESIONANTE !!!!!
danke für das einstellen der videos!!!

Wie schön sie es auch singt - was für eine seltsame Inszenierung.
Sorry for the german...staging of this comment.
Terrific singing and acting. The dance, however, feels a bit too choreographed...this isn't Salome, after all.
