Good on Tyler for just letting you talk and not jumping in. Seems like a really good sales professional.
Good video piece of advice. Love to see OWNERS OF BOTH MACHINES "CHIME IN". Sure an advantage to someone looking regardless of any model. Just stuff to look for and consider. Thanks guys. Sonny (CT) (Part 2 - running/operation should be good.)
Hyundai would be silly NOT to use your input. Especially on the blade geometry and the use of a replaceable, bolt on scraping blade. Excellent, honest comparison. GREAT video!
Thanks appreciate that
Great information. Another reason why I love your chanel.
Good review, not boring like a lot of others. Thanks to Tyler from RECO and Hyundai for showing us. Thumbs up.
Thanks
Very informative
Thanks
Good video guys thumbs up and thank you for sharing very interesting again thumbs up my friends
Thanks buddy
I'm not sure if and how much more the steel tracks weigh over the rubber ones but I'd guess that with the extra weight and width that the tipping point would be close to the same when stretching them out with the concrete block. Great open and impartial video Mike!
great part 1 mike .looking forward to part 2
Thanks
As far as the operational aspects outside the machine, they are pretty closely matched. Depending on the job application, the close radius machine may be better or it may not. Most of what I do is in tight spaces so it would definitely be an advantage for me. You didn't talk about the advantage/disadvantage of rubber tracks. There again, rubber tracks are an advantage with my jobs because I have to track across concrete/asphalt driveways a lot. Some of the other stuff y'all covered is pretty negligible for my purposes but, I think the inside of the machines (creature comforts) would make my decision for me as well as the maintenance stuff(labeled and well laid out components). Hyundai put a lot of thought into their design. Durability of the machine and dealer support is really important to me also. Good video!
Thanks for the video enjoyed it
Thanks for watching
This is some great info Mike. Thank u very much. And yes it looked very beautiful there.
Thanks and yes it is
Can't wait until the next one. Hope you and your family have a blessed day
Thanks
Long before UA-cam I worked at an equipment dealer. This would have been fantastic. We had good salesmen & they talked to the engineers. But, customer reviews on video? Priceless.
Thanks Dave
All of the compact radius machines I've ran excluding the 245 deere/hitatchi have been very stable machines. I like them alot for clearing especially when your clearing easement.
Yup one less thing to worry about
Awesome comparison... and awesome opportunity to do so! I now know much more about excavators than I ever dreamed of 😂
You did. Great on the the reviews of both mechiean coudues to you. I checked skid steers for the the same reasons
Great job on this video Mike! The only way you really know is to break out the tape measure. This was a great opportunity for both parties and the kind of thing I could only dream doing for an equipment manufacturer. We are green with envy over here at Full Tilt 🤢 lol. Loved the video 👍🏻
lol thanks buddy
OK we figured your choice pretty quickly. Your as good a salesman as tyler. He is a no pressure kind of guy. Love it!
Thanks
I'm sold on the Hyundai already. Be damn good septic tank installer and basement digger. Thanks Mike and Tyler for this informative vlog.
Yes it would
Real. Good video mike. , thanks for taking the time to do these.
Thanks
Very informative video 👍
Kind of hard not to be biased with the dealer salesman there. I did enjoy the video 😊
Thanks
tis is a great video, i now work with a kobelco 270, i use to run a hitachi 250 befor that, and the kobelco zero tail haves alot more lifting power, mainly because it can lift alot closer to the center
Double top rollers.
Part of the reason is the rubber pads are thicker than the steel pads. The second roll helps alleviate pinching of material so more falls out during travel for less aggravation. of rubber edges. Mini excavators have webbing between pads, helps self clean. Larger machines would chew it right out due to weight. Correct track tension is critical to pad life for rubber and steel pads for that matter.
The only draw back to second roll I see is one more contact point to chains but in long run saves replacing pads prematurely. That's my thought on rolls.
The blade edge is cheaper to build up with hard face rod to keep square I think. It's really only here and there use as light duty as I would keep it.
Back in the 80's a local concrete contractor bought a Komatsu with an undercarriage comparable to a Cat D6, single grouser pads. A 10 ft blade with fold-in corners to stay legal width on trailer. With a 1yd bucket. An absolute BEAST on site work.
I think given the time spent in both machines they are fairly equal with each having advantages and disadvantages. I figured you would discuss the rubber vs metal tracks, again they each have advantages and disadvantages. Thanks to Reco and Hyundai for the loaner for trial purposes.
I wonder if there is a difference on pressure from the curl of the bucket? Seems this would be handy info when pulling stumps or breaking rock. Also the first test with the weight may be closer if you take the steel track and applied that extra width to the Hyundai.
Have to thank Tyler for participating in this video, and Hyundai for being open to customer input.
Great part one Mike.
Thanks buddy
Great comparison.
Thanks
Great video Mike Big shout out to Hyundai for taking the time to spend with you and us going over the machine A great dealership taking time to represent there product and educate all who want to know
Thanks frank
I am wearing my Hyundai hat this week when I go to get filters for my kobelco ! Thanks again tyler . Be calling you on the thumb soon
Lol
Kobelco, people still buy them ? Lol
@@toddreynolds8875 what is wrong with kobelco?
Mike, I Nowhere Near The Experience U Have Operating Equipment. I Noticed Both Machines Have Pluses & Minuses. I'd Definitely Use Either Or
normaly i rent a cat 301 to clear my fence lines, dig post holes in my hard red clay, an auger will not cut it, clean up winter bed pack from my live stock, and fix road pipes, but because of your videos i thought i would try a
Hyundai 35z-9
witch is a 1000 Lb heaver machine then the cat 301, i rented it for 5 days but ended upp having it for 7 days and still didnt get what i needed done, this rental was a total waste of $1700, the machine couldnt did the red clay with out fighting every control at the same time, to even cut 2 to 3 inches of clay out, the stick boom you couldnt even rack brush up or pull the top of a fresh dirt pile forward or back using just the stick boom, it would hit the dirt and move it about 3 inchs and stop dead, it would not steer to the left, it was like the right track took all the power .. i sunk in mud to the top of the tracks, black mud, and the tracks would not even turn,, i did some videos on this that i will be uploading to show how bad it was, the cat 301 would dig 10 time better in this same ground, i got so mad at my self for renting it, even climbing my hills it would all most come to a stop going up, this 35z-9 is 8200Lbs so i had to pay to have it moved to my place as my trailer only good fot 7000Lbs, the cat 301 i move my self as it is only 7200Lbs, this machine only had 1355 hours on it, i was so disappointed in my self for changing from what i have aways rented, and the cat 301 is cheaper to rent, i had to take a bigger Hyundai with steel tracks one time because they over booked the 2 cat 301, it was a really heavy machine, but because they screwed up the booking, they moved it to my job site and back for free, that thing would not dig anything like the cat 301 it was a fight to dig a trench for out door hot water furnece lines down 5 feet in clay, it ware me out bad trying to dig a 60 foot long trench, but i thought because it was an old machine with over 7000 hours the pumps were shot, but after renting this one, i think, they just have crapy pumps in them, now i have to put out more money to rent the cat 301 o finish what i need done, witch i should have been able to to in 5 days to start with, as i have done these same jobs many times with the 301 on the farm, one more thing i want to add about the Hyundai 35z-9 i could not pull a 3 inch poplar tree out of black dirt and weather i was across the track or over the blade i could not tip it up of the ground, were the cat 301 i would stand it on its nose if it didnt come out of the ground, and the thumb on the 35z-9 was usless, the tumb teeth dont rech the bucket, and you have to roll the bucket all the way all most in in order for it to brab a brush pile witch ends in digging up ground in order to get the bottom of the pile, picking up one limb or rock was imposible, the thumb strock is way far to short
I’ve rented a Kubota 121-3 and a cat 305e. The Kubota has more hp. But only weighs 9k lbs, the cat weighs 11,400. That cat was smoother operating as well as a lot more power. A stump the Kubota wouldn’t even think about moving, the cat picked it up and never flinched
Thanks Mr dirtperfec for the video.
Thanks for watching
Great video Mike
Thanks
Great comparison between the two similar machines ! I was also surprised how well the zero turn Hyundai charted on the lift test against the Volvo at 10:25 . Ok ..... Who tore up the lift ring on the Volvo ? " wink" .
🤷♂️😜
Honesty, Love it.
Thanks
You have already had 54 views on this so there are plenty of operators taking notes good job Mike.
Thanks barry
Good stuff there
Thanks
You'd think the director of Dirt Perfect would give you a new t-shirt without holes in, I mean, he hasn't had to replace any mirrors lately 😂😂 ps I'm thinking of founding a Kleeman fan club 😂😂
Lol was a long day
It's kind of hard to compare a close radius machine with a conventional machine but in this case they both are closely matched !
Nice video buddy
Thanks buddy
Yep Good job by both .
good video
Thanks
How does the resale or trade in price compare after a machine is about 5 -10 years old? How many hours do most people put on a machine when they sell or trade them in?
Good ? For Tyler
Great video Mike!👍my own opinion is I would cancel sell the Valvo🤣 and keep the Hyundai! 🤔😁 But I dont know anything about that Trade!
Lol thanks Jerry
I wonder how much more side reach you'd get with the same width pads. The wider pads would make for a little wider machine. Wider = more stable.
@Pennsylvania Mike The wider pads should have a little effect due to leverage. Granted its not too much since the pads aren't attached to the track frame. The counterweight certainly has more to do with it, I was just thinking about the pads themselves.
@@tmacie2 Since the machine will pivot on the lower rollers, I doubt there would be much advantage there, but the wider pads would be heavier, so there would be a little bit more counterweight on the other side. With 40 pads and just five extra pounds each, that's something like... Uh. 6000 pounds? No. That's not right. Maybe Mike can help on the math.😂
Ok, seriously, it's 200 pounds and that may be of more help than the width though the weight is closer to the center of the machine than the counterweight.
Wide pads suck on an excavator or dozer. Wear quicker. More stress on finals when turning. Dont turn good. , unless you need em for swam work. I will take narrow track anyday
Which blade is higher when you swing around? How high is the blade without hitting the house?
Blade will not hit the house
Was there a HYUNDAI used on Parker’s Trail in South America last year? This year Parker was in Australia and they had trouble with old equipment searching for nuggets and was travelled a long way pulling a pilot size mill.mounted on a trailer. This did not workout as a mining operation but more of a prospecting excursion for nuggets. The guide for this adventure was a Tyler Mahoney from a mining family. I am sure we will be seeing more from Tyler in the future. This woman was smart and beautiful young woman. I think Parker should remain in the YUKON. There is a lot of mining activity in AUSTRALIA but is best left for the big operators that will invest $500,000,000 or more. You are not Parker and Parker is not this.
OK YOU WIN. PARKERS TRAIL FALLS UNDER THE CATEGORY OF A SCRIPTED TV SHOW. GOLD RUSH IS THE REAL DEAL.
Talk about dealer support, not many dealers would not like doing an honest overview of 2 different machines!!!!!
Exactly
Measuring height from uneven ground seems like it could vary significantly from machine to machine
Did you not listen to what I said close reference not exact 🤷♂️
Over here we call that British standard nigh enough Mike 😂🇬🇧
If that Hyundai had 28” pads it might have farther reach with the extra weight off the back and more support in the bucket side.
You’re going to lose that Bromance with Chris over that machine... lol
😜
Let me ask this do the price difference make up for alls better on one then the other I know different job calls for different options but at the end of the day from a business stand point what one would you say to get
I wonder if the blade differences are more because of the end use and the tracks each machine has. With the Volvo having 16 more inches of track width over the Hyundai along with steal tracks it simply can handle a larger blade. Since the Hyundai is on narrower rubber tracks it makes sense to me that it would have a less substantial blade.
I was mostly surprised by how close they were when reaching out with the block, considering how much further out the Volvo's counter weight is.
Understand what your saying but don’t think so
New sales person I see!
ωραιος ο μηχαλης 👀👀👌👍👍😎
So when are you trading in the Volvo lol Great video again
🤷♂️
You should try to get a 145 zero swing volvo and compare it to the results of the hyundai
Short vs Long Stick?
You said you covered everything on the outside, what about the thumbs? Just me personally, I dont like the thumb on the Hyundai, looks to light built. Havent run that particular one so curious to your thoughts, also I like the curve on the Volvo thumb better but again just personal preference.
Have that in another video
Good video great comparison 👍🇦🇺
Good morning everyone hope you're doing well today
Over head clearance??? Drop deck and low boy trailer. I had to remove some parts from a machine to get under 13-6. Can these be addressed in future updates???
Yes can haul with 3 foot deck high
Dirt Perfect just that that safty rail looks to be higher than the cab
I will say, just watching your video's, that Hyundai with the rubber tracks and close radius counter weight, looks to me thats a perfect fit for your company.
Use your words Mike lol I have the same problem lol
😁
I bet the Volvo would almost pick the Hyundai up because off the tail weight, but they both have advantages and disadvantages, great comparison!
It even close
Dirt Perfect ?
🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂
nice video. good and fair comparison. great job pointing out they are similar class machines but not apples to apples. curious about weight of each, horsepower and approximate cost when new. What about cost to operate with DEF fuel economy of older verses latest technology. thanks Mike.
Thanks
If you get an excavator stuck because the blade hung you up you're not an operator you can just basic run it
Lets Dig18 would supply you with a New 'T' ........
Mike I keep hearing between your actual words, “ I wish I had bought the Hyundai “.....
lol
So when’s the Volvo going on the market?
🤷♂️
You just talking about the Hyundai machine helps it sell itself !!
Thanks
Just put a ceramic coating on it if you want a shine and make it last..
What is the price difference between the 2 machines
Good ? For Tyler
Tracks, rubber vs metal tracks, slip sliding away
WHAAAAT ? You don't buff your machines up every weekend ?
Lol no sir I use them 😁
dirt perfect i loaded 150 trucks in 8 hours day on a komatsu 240
👍
I think that if the Hyundai had the same width of tracks it would have reached out almost as far as the Volvo
Don’t think so pivots on the rollers
@@DirtPerfect true
Volvo have more longevity better tracking Motors but I do like hyundai as well but the volvo are little more robust
That pond looks as if the homeowner had dyed the water a deeper blue. Sure doesn't look natural that's for sure.
Jeff Cotton Bluestone.
Are you going to buy the 210 Hyundai
Stay tuned
as you have stated in almost all of the videos with the Hyundai it is about jobsite conditions and that each has its advantages for different jobs.
my suggestion would be to have both to have a choice of what is best suited for the job at hand, but I don't pay your bills ( maintenance fuel licensing travel ) and I have see your finesse when it comes to doing what needs to be done with wat you have.
The biggest difference the Hyundai is built for utility work, working on a street doing water lines your working in tight areas its why the boom swings back far so you can load a truck. That has a caveat you can whack the cab of the machine with the bucket if your not careful. I've ran reduced tail swing 158 Komatsu you can have a scare if you have a load sticked out over the side and you bounce. There is a benefit having a machine with an ass on it why do you think forestry machines have extra counterweight. I'm used to running full size hoes with standard counter weight being 200-210 size.
THE REACH WITH THE BLOCK WOULD BE CLOSER IF THE HUNDA HAD STEEL TRACKS , ADDED WEIGHT AND WIDER.
Steel tracks with rubber pads on top on the Hyundai
Yup
Sounds like Tyler should have asked for the order after this part of the review. Did he close you here or after the next one?
Lol
What??? You don’t wax your machines???? Michael whatever do you do with your spare time???
Maybe it is time to put in a cleaning station next to the water slide... Just put a wye in the pump line and have the Cap’n play fireman. You can wash with Dawn, rinse and spray on car wash wax... maybe even opt for the red-white & blue suds on the 4th of July. Think how happy the 120 will be if she can sparkle!!!
Hmm.. I think you need one of the same kind to do a real overview like the boom angel on Hyundai is the same on Volvo ECR145EL and much more.. so No, not so good overview from my point. But I like your channel so keep at it 😁👍🏻
Think you missed the point showing the differences between the machines not direct comparison thanks for watching
Dirt Perfect
Mm... maybe, but if u showing how a short swing is vs a standard machine in tight area’s is better. then I will let it slide 😁
The VOLVO has a longer track, weighs more, better counter weight, I don’t see any HUNDAIS on GOLD RUSH.
Bigger isn't always better. I'd rather have a long reach zero tail
Gold rush is a completely scripted show brother
Same stick and there was one on Parker’s trail 🤷♂️
That Guy's Live Music Tell me you made, let me guess $200 last year on your music.
Dirt Perfect made maybe $20,000 from U Tube last year.
Parker on GOLD RUSH made over $12,000,000 on DISCOVERY TV SHOW and probably the best 24 year old minor in the world.
Here is the deal. He makes a lot more than $20,000 from the scripted part (paying him to allow filming of his operation.)
Discovery has got a huge deal for product placement of John Deere Big Equipment used by 3 operations probably 20 pieces of VOLVO equipment that they get a very good deal on. Parker also has CATERPILLAR D 10, D 9 DOZERS OF HIS OWN AND MILLIONS IN WASH PLANTS. TONY BEETS and Kids have and interesting barge mounted Draglines for mining as well.GOLD RUSH is hugely successful for more than 10 years with millions of viewers world wide.
Now listen it does not look good on You to demean show as being phoney. Bad news for You. JOHN DEERE would not waste millions on phoney advertising and it just would not work for sales if equipment was staged and not very real time production.
The OUTDOORS WITH THE MORGANS probably got a Product Placement deal for 2 small KUBOTA TRACTORS. DIRT PERFECT should maybe try and get a Product Placement deal from HYUNDAI for their small excavator You are comparing. JOHN DEERE probably would not be interested in DIRT PERFECT.
Someone watches too much TV...
I think you would have bought the Hyundai in the beginning if the $$$$ was in you price range. That was a determining factor.
True
shouldn't you have measured the balance from the edge of the track, not the track frame?
The machine's weight is going to pivot on the track rollers in the center of the track not the outer edge of the tracks.
Yup and different with tracks
You can't compare the booms with each other the volvo has a longer stick than de hyundai and the volvo boom doesnt go so far back like the hyundai
Both long sticks
@@DirtPerfect
I would swear that the stick on the volvo is longer😅 i guess it's the angle of the hyundai that makes it look a little shorter btw nice video
the tracks are small hyundai then volvo
Hyundai any day of the week over Volvo.
nice video . i hope u do more like this and less every day vlogging style . cheers
They ain't smart but like marines first in last out
Mike did they give a new one after the way you put down the Volvo in your Hyundai sales pitch, to be fair you should have had two machines of the same production year not 3or so years apart, I doubt then that the Hyundai will be in as good a condition as the Volvo even if you could find one that is, as for a mechanics view point I would go for the Volvo ,because there is MORE room and space to work on them than the Hyundai, also Volvo’s are made to a better standard of workmanship than the Hyundai so there again there is no comparison, they are at different ends of the market, a good machine all round (Volvo) and one that’s made to lower price bracket, in my view mike they both move dirt but one will last longer that the other which is already a proven fact
Well that's what you get for gonna buy a Volvo that's a Chinese own company
What so confused by comment plz explain
Sorry Mike you're comparing an orange to a apple, Volvo is better, overall you know that.
ahh not for sure have had lots of problems with mine
Can’t you afford shirt without holes in the sleeves
He's a busy, working man.
But it's my favorite shirt. I work better in cuz I'm comfortable. (I do have a suit?) Sonny (CT)
You nailed it 😁
