Very impressed with this guitar! Modern take of the 67 Viking II. I am a little freaked! The original that looked like this was played by Elvis in the 68 Special. Spectacular.
Yes Allen, but the original Hag had a lot of gold hardware, that was fitting of the King. Also, Elvis didn't own that Hag., it was owned by a session guitarist, that appeared on the '68 Special.
Fantastic review Robbie! And what a very tasty looking guitar!! We need to be seeing more of Hagstrom in the UK. Would definitely like to get my hands on this '67 Viking II 👍
You're absolutely right. It was this exact type Elvis used on his comeback launch show in 68. It was given to him by Al Casey. Elvis loved the cherry lipstick red colour which matched nicely with his black leather outfit
great review. I had to skip forward a bit when you hit that MANC chord!! I almost regret not buying an ELVIS MACHINE when i bought an Epiphone Jared Nichols. maybe i can PX it
I wonder how many people are buying these now knowing Elvis used this in his 68 TV Special. But with the resurgence of the new movie that is out, these guitars have almost doubled in price. I wonder how many have named theirs "Elvis"?
It seems I've watched a few on this guitar and there seems to be a bit of static, like the sound of an open circuit going on. Are the pick ups to microphonic? Pots possibly? I can hear that most of the toggle switches are noisy too, No?
Kudos on matching even the right strap for full '68 Comeback authenticity!
Well spotted!
Elvis played this in his ‘68 Comeback show.

thats teh only reason i want one

@@dennymcfastlane8530 Understood on both accounts. I know the story, Elvis was given or owned a black Hagstrom I believe.
@@dennymcfastlane8530 The session guitarist was Al Casey.
Excellent demo by the Dr --they can send me one for my 70Th Birthday x
Could not find a decent video on how it actually sounds being played but now I have🎉thanx
I like so much your playing Robbie ! 👏🏻 I've got the Hagstrom Viking and plays good too !

I need this guitar in my life

Great guitar. Love ur guitar playing
Got to have one!
I love the strap!
That was the same strap that Elvis wore when he played this guitar. Also the same strap Jimi Hendrix at Woodstock wore.
Superb review presentation.
literally just ordered one of these the other day with that exact same strap 😅

I have a White Hagstrom 67’ it’s a dream, I’d like to get it repaired because the basement flooded

Good presentiation
Not that it matters, or does it, but, are these still made in Sweden?
These are made in Hagstrom's factory in China.
@@RosettiLtd Thanks for replying. I may get this myself.
They started remaking Hagstroms in Sweden recently but pretty sure price will increase greatly.
Elvis
Elvis dyed his hair too.......
everybody is just here because of elvis lol
Or they like the Viking II lol! 😆
Always amazes me when people review a guitar and talk about everything except the size of the fret wire.
