Biggest feature for me as a fan. Obviously very famously seen played by Elvis Presley in 68 wearing his leather suit. The Red one. Fun little fact. That Red guitar was borrowed for the filming of the special
Elvis enjoyed it so much he bought 1 of his own to play around the house was never a stage guitar and it was a all black 1

Several months back I picked up the Tobacco Burst '67 Viking Reissue and absolutely love it and the improvements. It's ALMOST the same Viking Swedish built Tobacco Burst I played from 1968 until I traded it in on a still owned 1973 Martin D-28. My new, Chinese, 67' Vintage Viking Reissue is sporting the guitar strap that adorned my original Hag 50 years ago. Time for some new memories with an old friend.

I really like the Fender Coronado, that used to have a bolt on neck despite being a hollow body guitar.

Thanks Sean! I think this is the only time I'd go for a red finish over a black one, it's the flame on the red that sells it to me

Hagstrom's all are great, well-crafted guitars that can stand up against more well-known brands in any situation. Further, they are beautiful instruments AND they are not the guitars that everybody and their great-aunt plays for goodness sake!

What Hagstroms are not made in China? I was so excited & ready to buy one of these Guitars thinking it was made in Sweden & now I have to stomach knowing it is made in China. Very disappointing, I don’t think I can do it. I know there is a new saying that things made in China does not mean what it used too. But I have not seen a single companies products not drop in quality once they moved there operations too China.

That's very appropriate to not buy 'made in China'. They must begin producing elsewhere.

For what it's worth, I've had a Hagstrom Viking for 10 years and it plays really well and I've only just had a problem with with one of the pickups last year. The guitar only cost me 900 AUD. For the price of the '67 Viking, you're probably better off getting an American made Fender or something. But I reckon the regular Vikings and Swedes beat any Mexican made Fender model.

i would have loved this guitar if it wasn’t made in China, for that matter I see it heavily overpriced and it simply makes sense to add a little more and buy entry-american fender

Sorry I have to ask again but did you mention that all Hagstroms are made in China? Guitars are discretionary purchases and I am sure there are many people who would not enjoy playing an instrument made by a communist dictatorship especially after their handling of Covid-19 that has brought so much misery to so many people. It would be like you recommend buying Hugo Boss clothing made before 1945, you would not do that now, would you?

Hagström Northern are built in Check republic. iPhones and iPads are built in China and so are some cameras from Nikon, Sony and Canon IIRC. Olympus on the other hand are built in Vietnam.

For starters: the U.S. handled the COVID virus much worse than China because we had a buffoon as President. Thankfully, that clown's gone.
As for your not wanting to support a 'communist dictatorship,' you DO know that almost all household goods, consumer electronics, automobiles, machinery, etc., are either made entirely in China or have Chinese parts? There's not a single day that goes by that you aren't using or interacting with some product that has Chinese origins.
Finally your 'Hugo Boss' analogy goes both ways; Do you boycott Dow products? Dow made napalm - which killed and wounded thousands and thousands of innocent Vietnamese during the Vietnam war. Mitsubishi built prisoner-of-war camps for the Japanese during WWII. Bayer performed medical experiments in concentration camps. Nestle benefitted from slave labor, while Standard Oil provided fuel to U-boats. I could go on and on.
That you think any country's hands are clean is beyond naïve.
