What a handsome man. He could have been a leading man in any movie. He was that gorgeous. And his talent? Wow! What a voice. I have always adored him - even as a young child I sat spellbound when he was on television. I hope he is doing well now.
Jack Jones is still performing Singing at 85 years old and he is still Handsome. I agree he is a Beautiful Romantic Talented Man. Wow !! Unforgettable!! Jean Mooney
He just couldn't deliver onscreen though he was so charismatic on stage. Voice. Looks. Charm. He seemed introverted in the acting roles. He was on every variety show and guest hosted Ed Sullivan. He was in a Rat Patrol episode, a film with his dad, and another film. Of course he was so good at what he did as a singer he didn't need to be a good actor, too!
Those short pants were so unattractive. Trousers should break nicely across the ankle. Not too long, not too short. Now blazers are way too short! Fashion.
I first heard Jack Jones singing "Wives and Lover" on the radio and formed an immediate like and attraction to his music and voice. Farewell from this earthly life you led and gave us so much of yourself to us. Even though you have left us, you will live forever in your music and face won't ever disappear from our memory. I hope the angels are taking good care of you. I hope the angels have you singing for them. The days you sang were simple and filled with happiness. 🥹😢❤
What an amazing mastery of voice, storytelling and lyrical interpretation consummately delivered with such grace and effortless dignity. Last of his kind, perhaps the best of his kind.
Jack Jones, a Grammy-winning crooner known for “The Love Boat” television show theme song, has died. He was 86. Jones died Wednesday 23 October 2024 at a hospital in Rancho Mirage, California, after battling leukemia for more than two years, according to a statement from his manager, Milt Suchin. Jones began his singing career in the 1950s and in the 1960s won two Grammy Awards for best vocal performance, one on the song “Lollipops And Roses” and one on the song “Wives and Lovers.” He was nominated for several other Grammys in later years, including for the album “Jack Jones Paints A Tribute To Tony Bennett” in 1999.
The Zeppo Strikes Back! -- Underrated as a singer for certain, one of those voices that is just wonderful to listen to. You can see him as a panelist on What's My Line? and also a mystery guest when he was in his 20's and he comes off as a very nice guy.
Because he is a good guy. If he was notorious and getting into all kinds of trouble you betcha they will keep talking abt him. America loves notoriety.... for example Sinatra.
What a gorgeous man to top off a stellar voice......always loved his work. The Shadow of Your Smile---This was my late father's favorite song. Ahh the sixties.
The best rendition heard of Shadow of Your Smile. Orchestra and women's chorus a beautiful addition. I've played this over and over. Johnny Mandel could really write 'em.
100% the best rendition, and to think this performance is live, with that Orchestra and backing singers arrangement, just a magical moment thankfully recorded forever more.
Flawless! Jones has a huge following for baby boomers. Although not as popular as the other greats like Sinatra, Bennett or Mathis, as far as I'm concerned he's still in the same class. He's an exceptional vocalist and is still going strong. Thanks Jack Jones!
Very nice to listen to Jack Jones sing. He was tall at 6'1", handsome and suave, looked great in a tux, with a beautiful baritone voice. Nice guy, too, which is more than I can say for a certain other baritone of the previous generation who sang similar types of songs.
My father was a wonderful singer as well at this time though never truely famous...and I still have a great appreciation for a song well sung. Beautiful voice...
I think I"ve exhausted all the Utube videos of Jack Jones singing....WOW BRAVO...the innocence of yesteryear..he certainly was one romantic balladier...and also the up tempo ones are so sexy too...and he continiues to appeari in concerts ...hope to see him sing in my SF Bay Area this year... ..thanks for posting..
This was actually in the 1960s. I think he was still a little bit young in the 1950s. He was signed to Capital Records in 1959 and his first hit, "Lollipops and Roses" was in 1961.
Jack's father Alan Jones was also one of the best singers of the 1930's and 40's. Jack certainly inherited his Dad's passion and power in his singing. Two great singers. I heard Alan in concert in Sydney in the middle 1980's. He lost very little of his voice and was a terrific guy.
Thank you Marc! You know he is a great singer that´s why he is your inspiration in your career with musician and singer at all; I also like his voice very much; I appreciate it. God bless you and good luck! peace & love, Daniela
MY MOTHER HAD A CRUSH ON HIM. HE LOOKS LIKE A LEADING MAN, VERY GOOD VOICE, BUT HE FOR SOME REASON NEVER MADE IT TO THE TOP TIER, ALTHOUGH VERY POPULAR. I GUESS THERE WERE A LOT OF SINGERS LIKE HIM BACK IN HIS DAY AND IT TOOK A VERY SPECIAL SOMETHING TO REALLY BREAK THROUGH.
Jack Jones Simplesmente sensacional! Feliz Natal para todos qe postaram seus comentários. Edson Itaipu / Niterói / Rio de Janeiro / Brasil - 22/12/2013
The shadow of your smile When you have gone Will color all my dreams And light the dawn Look into my eyes my love and see All the lovely things you are to me Our wistful little star It was far, too high A teardrop kissed your lips And so did I Now when I remember spring All the joys that love can bring I will be remembering The shadow of your smile
Another song takes me back when I was young. I think of my first boyfriend. You sing it beautifully, perfection at it”s Best JackJones upthere with the best of them love your sing voice 💕
What an amazing era this was for popular music! Great "adult" music like this all over our television and radio airwaves, and right alongside it the "youth" music of Motown, Dylan, The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel and the bossa nova and latin-pop of Sergio Mendes, Antonio Carlos Jobim, etc. etc... It was mind-boggling!
I have to agree with StevieB,heard him on WHLI(Long Island,NY) a couple years ago and found out it was Jack Jones. He right up there with Tony,Frank,Robert Goulet,Mel Torme!.
Goodbye Jack. Will always spin your records. RIP
RIP, Jack. May the sound of your voice entertain the angels for all eternity.
Rest In Glory, Jack. I love your version of my favorite song, The Shadow of Your Smile

R.I.P. Jack - died today age 86
Those short pants were so unattractive. Trousers should break nicely across the ankle. Not too long, not too short. Now blazers are way too short! Fashion.
Those were the days my friend we thought they’d never end
So damned underrated as a singer. He was every bit as great as Sinatra, Damone and Bennett.
I discovered Jack Jones during the Covid confinement, I am in love with his songs.
Probably because he wasn't a hell raiser.
Jack was my all-time favorite male singer. Truly the best of the best…

Great singer of the great songs, witty, wonderful friend, We will treasure our memories.
You knew him.
What an amazing mastery of voice, storytelling and lyrical interpretation consummately delivered with such grace and effortless dignity.
Last of his kind, perhaps the best of his kind.
JACK JONES...A Vocal Artist Who absorbed the likes of SINATRA and TORME leaving the Legacy Of a Great Balladeer To Fans Forever.
A beautiful man whose voice was and is a superb musical instrument.
god where did the music that sounds this beautiful go...
Maybe someone will bring it back someday, just hope people will let them..
Boy does this brings back wonderful memories of fine crooners singing great songs

How beautiful is that?! I have been a JJ fan since the 60s, and still am! He has an exceptional voice. I never tire of him.
What a beautiful bright and clear tone he had. He and Vic Damone both had that bright sound.
That beautiful face and lovely voice. WOW !!!
it's the breath control .....no one did it better , phrasing is perfect .
Beauty, talent, class, elegance, charisma... all those words define Jack Jones.
Oh,oui,oui,oui!!!
Superb vocal technique. magnificent singer.
He had a great voice....smooth and had power.
One of the most underrated crooners from that era.

+ToddSF 94109 I just saw a youtube video of the Password game show with Jack Jones. He was quite good at password.
Because he is a good guy. If he was notorious and getting into all kinds of trouble you betcha they will keep talking abt him. America loves notoriety.... for example Sinatra.
So true..very underrated..love his style of singing..
Agree !!!
... that was and is real good and perfect music; what an amazing voice, Jack Jones 😍🙂👍🙋♂️🇩🇪🍀
"LA SOMBRA DE TU SONRISA", HERMOSA CANCIÓN EN LA MÁS LINDA VOZ DE TODOS LOS TIEMPOS. GRACIAS JACK!!

Ronette Blissett
Even those born during WWII are his fans.
Big Nick...says great singer,,,in Sinatra and Matt Monroe mode,. however lacks real feeling....
Ronette Blissett I put him at the top of your list, his voice is flawless and at age 77 still is sounding great...Sinatra was shot at 57..
He was a handsome bastard. No disrespect intended.
One of my favorite male singers ever....
Jack Jones sure had the gorgeous looks in the 1960s...a bygone era!
lotusbuds2000 m
Every thing is bygone one day
What a tragedy!
That voice.....those eyes.....that hair. He was and he remains one hell of an entertainer.

AFN Berlin, 88.5 MHz, maybe 50 years ago, this song, and a young East German boy was in tears, like I'm today..
totally agree with you, Kehoepat. he was a true talent, a glorious voice that moves me over and over.
What an exceptional talent, and handsome as well.
Timeless... love his voice... now singing is so different...

Best crooner ever wish music could go back to the 50s
This was actually in the 1960s. I think he was still a little bit young in the 1950s. He was signed to Capital Records in 1959 and his first hit, "Lollipops and Roses" was in 1961.
One day I was in goodwill and picked up and album of his listened to it and fell in love and he's gorgeous

Beautiful song and arrangement. Especially impressed with the background woman's chorus
Sheesh he still gives me chills.
Great singer, arrangement & composer (Johnny Mandel). What's really moving are the background singers. Absolutely beautiful.

Great post! We used to watch the "Hollywood Palace" when we were kids! Classy Jack Jones!!!
He is still singing his heart out. He has aged gracefully, after all he is from good genes. Still a good singer.
The shadow of your smile
When you have gone
Will color all my dreams
And light the dawn
Look into my eyes my love and see
All the lovely things you are to me
Our wistful little star
It was far, too high
A teardrop kissed your lips
And so did I
Now when I remember spring
All the joys that love can bring
I will be remembering
The shadow of your smile
Those ladies did a fine vocal performance ,too!

Thanks for sharing your Jack Jones story. That would have made my month!
Not many people could deliver a song so convincingly with their arms akimbo.
I always love him when he appeared at the telethon of Jerry Lewis
Jack Jones was greatest in the world.
Cool its Jason Funderberker (The Frog) in Over The Garden Wall
:DDD his voice is still pretty cool in his age of 77 today :)
Jack Jones very talented, and also extremely handsome.
I have to agree with StevieB,heard him on WHLI(Long Island,NY) a couple years ago and found out it was Jack Jones. He right up there with Tony,Frank,Robert Goulet,Mel Torme!.
