- This video shows all fish and rewards from the fishing minigame in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening on Nintendo Switch. This includes the rare Cheep Cheep, Blooper and Ol' Baron. Please note that, as shown at the end of the video, you will get the second Chamber Stone only if you catch a fish that is bigger than 60 inches.
Pro Tip: do a save right before you go fishing. Keep reloading save until water is sparkling on top. That means rare fish are there. Reload until you see the one you want. Good luck!

Yeah, I find it works best if you stop tapping just before they lurch away.. And then tap like crazy when they lean back your way.

Nintendo was like "Let's take one of the darkest Zelda's in the series and make it just as fucking bright and happy looking as possible."

Lol agreed. Like some of the Dungeon themes are a bit too happy compared to the OG themes. It's like they sort of "Misunderstood" what made some of the OG Dungeon themes so good!
Example being that certain aspects of the Dungeon melodies are either missing completely, or not emphasized as much as they should be. The very first Dungeon is an example of this for me. The fast paced du du du du du du du of the beat towards the end of the track before it loops really makes the original sound dark & serious, where the new version really doesn't emphasize that. Not quite sure how else to explain it...
Although to be honest, the Dungeon 6 music aka Face Shrine just bout makes up for ALL of that. Holy hell did they ever nail that one! Best track in the game by a country mile!! If only all the tracks got that level of attention.
I really hate how they consider tablets to be rewards. Its not even motivating to try and catch them.

I wouldn’t mind if they were more scarce but they have so many it takes away from other possible rewards, it feels as though they are forcing you to play that addition. I mean I like that it adds more to the game but its just tedious and not that rewarding aside from tge heart pieces and again you feel forced to play through that to earn them.

Arthur Schamne Oh yea for sure, I’m saying they could have added other possible rewards, maybe BotW colored tunic or the twighlight bow, or different collectibles that gave power ups to certain gear, or maybe more upgrades like even more inventory on certain items, or even just rupees lol. Like I said they aren’t a bad addition but to earn the heart pieces and shells he offers you HAVE to play through all of the adventures. For an addition to the original game it just feels forced that’s all. Idk that was my opinion I personally just don’t like making the dungeons, I do like playing through them, if they had them already preset dungeons I would have enjoyed it much more. But that’s just my opinion, it just wasn’t for me.

Well damn, I thought I did everything in this game (never had any exposure to the original or DX version). Now I gotta catch Ol’ Baron and get that chamber for a 60 inch catch lol.

Just finished all rewards. Best strategy seems to be to watch the line, if it's shaking it's at risk of breaking - reel in when they're not pulling away, tap a few times while they're pulling to keep them from going too far. I failed Ol' Baron twice before I knew how it worked (I was just mashing), then spent like 45 minutes trying to get one to appear again. Caught the bottom fish probably 20 times without seeing him. Left and came back (twice) and it was there. So I'm not sure if you have a better chance of seeing it when you start the game vs when a fish respawns.
Weird, whenever i would fail, i would just leave. If the water was shiny, ol baron was there every time. When it wasn't shiny, all i had to do was enter a house and come back, it would be shiny again every time. Also, i didn't know you had to stop reeling when the fish is swimming away, so i consider myself lucky to have caught ol Baron in only two attempts, considering all i did was mash all the time. 0-0

Because the anglerfish didn't exist when original game came in. OoT development was after LA, and this remake follows original LA essence.

Actually, the size limit of an Ol' Baron to give the size-restricted Chamber Stone is somewhere slightly less than 60 inches. I caught a 59.something Baron (IIRC it was 59.51) and I was cursing it was off by so little, but to my surprise I got 2 Chamber Stones (as it was my first Ol' Baron).

I love this mini-game. It was annoying the first times, but I figured out for myself how it works. Now I just have the big blue fish left. But since it only took 50 inches to get the second seashell (A blooper can reach beyond 50 inches at least.) , I haven't caught this one yet.

One time I found a glitch so I caught a blooper but then the glitch happened the game thought it was still trying to swim away in the water so the water kept getting splashed

Keep trying with the blooper. i just got one with a 45 inch size blooper. Took many successful catches to get.

Imagine your fishing, when suddenly all the fish dissapear. Then, all of a sudden, a large serpent appears out of nowhere. This, my friend, is the Lagiacrus. And here's the game when you catch the Lagiacrus:
"You caught the Lagiacrus, the terror of the deep! It feels like battling Hot Head all over again!"
Notes: Lagiacrus is a boss fish, so you're going to have to wait a bit. It only bites, so make sure that you've got a fish on your lure.
When the fisherman sees the Lagiacrus, he says this:
"Wow! I thought nobody could catch the mythical Lagiacrus! So, take the Thunderstorm Orb."
Dangit I spent 40 minutes trying to catch ‘old baron’ without realizing that I could unlock new lures (still got him tho)

When do the other fish and Blooper appear? I haven’t beaten the game so idk if that matters but I see the same fish all the time. Is it random?
Blooper appear like Cheep Cheep in same time like their figurine in trending game. Cheep Cheep Angler tunnel and blooper after Catsfish Maw. Yes they are random. So when you see one its very important not fail to catch them. you can wait after Eagle tower to be sure every fish will be found

I caught my first Ol' Baron at 59.89 inches and got the stone from its mouth and he gave me a stone for catching a Baron. The very next fish was a Baron at 54 inches, but he said the thing about getting one that size and gave me a shell. Maybe the quota isn't 60 inches *exactly*? And I guess he can only give you one thing per fish, though what's in the fish doesn't count, so if you get two milestones in one go he'll give it to you the next time?

Hey, how do the rare fish only spawn after a certain point in the game? Ive been fishing for 30 minutes or so, only seeing the green and brown fish, no rare spawns.
Yes you have to beat I think its level 5 first iirc

How do you get the blooper, cheep-cheep and blue fish to appear?? Is it random? At any time of the game?
Just before fishing you can see the pond glows. It means that there will be special fish when you enter the mini-game.
not sure abt the blue one but cheep cheeps spawn in after you beat anglers tunnel(whatever the name is i forgot sorry) and bloopers are after catfishs maw
Everything starts showing up in the pond after the Face Dungeon is complete. I think rarer fish do show up more frequently the closer to the end of the game you are though. After you're finished Eagles Tower you can pretty much guarantee rarer fish in the pond as long as it's glowing.
I was lucky the first ol' baron I caught was big enough to give me a chamber stone for size, not just for the one stuck in it's mouth. The rumors online are saying the fish has to be worth at least 120 rupees for the final chamber stone but mine was only worth 110 and I still got it.

Youu need to rappidly tap A when you are reeling in the larger fish. Stop reeling when they try to swim away, but wiggle the control stick a few times to make the fish face you more often. When the fish face you, tap that button like no tomorrow.

I've caught 3 from all different areas. Even far out. You have to be really perfect with the timing.

I have no clue how big the second fish needs to be in order to get this last chamber stone. Cause I caught one that was 61 inches and still no chamber stone. Is my RNG just that bad?

@@Jasonixelthe first time you catch baron you get a chamber stone, if the first one is above the nessisary required size it will give you both for that one fish
Kinda like how they got both rewards for the squid instead of having to catch blooper more than once for the shell size requirement

How do you get Ol Baron to spawn?
What I do is just check the pond to see if it is shining, if it is then that means a rare fish is there, pay 10 rupees and see what fish it is. If not the right fish you're looking for, just enter a building and leave, the pond will reset with new fish.

So after a while of grinding I caught ol baron, but then I started going for the last chamber stone for 60 pounds but I got 59.12 and he just gave it to me anyways, maybe it’s not completely at 60?
What does the chamber stone do
I got 49 seashells and according to the map I'm missing 2 some how. I only got one from the fishing game and caught 2 bloopers, neither one giving me a shell. Then the map says I haven't gotten the one from the rapid river race in under 35 seconds. Which I've done and still no shell. I'm confused.
they could have rather made you go into some other side dungeons to earn the chamber stones instead of fishing them out

It has to be after beating Face Cave, but even then sometimes you'll still have to retry entering the minigame to get them to appear

How do you catch fish though? I've tried this method and nothing seems to work
When the fish start pulling away, don't tap A. Wait until they stop pulling.
Cactus Plushie once they stop fighting tap A as quick as possible and when they start fighting i usually tap A a few times just to stall them, not much just give a tap or 2 here and there until they wear down and start mashing A as quick as possible. Ive never had a problem with this method.
Nintendo game and copyright damn so annoying. All nintendo game contain a ton of ads. People should talk to avoid to have copyright problem or remove music. Will be less annoying for us who watch them. Some trick to catch them. I got the Baron 1st try. So use middleweight one. Don't hold A or your line will broke, You need to Tap A faster and when the fish try to leave don't do anything just wait and when the fish stop Tap A really faster and so on. Its the best way to catch them always 1st try

I do like this video, but as a rule I only go for channels with commentary.
I usually do to but sometimes you just get that one annoying person that makes a simple video 20 minutes long for ads and talks and talks instead of getting to the point.
