The best golf narration teamed up with wonderful editing. Where else am I going to be able to watch golf and learn about the average time it takes a plane to reach certain altitudes? Brilliant
Love these videos, they must take a long time to edit/ make and I respect the effort you put into it. Also you should try playing tigers high school course called dad miller. It's near the santa Anita gc. It would be cool to see that video.
Hey, thanks, my guy. We really appreciate all the time our editor spends on making the course vlogs. We aim to entertain and inspire our audience, so thank you for hopping on the comments and acknowledging the effort it takes to make these. We're so happy you enjoy them! Love the recommendation. That would be a really cool spot to film, so thank you for the suggestion. Hit 'em straight! - Team RGC
Holy shit, my 7 year old son and I had so much fun watching this. Way more entertaining than watching a normal tournament. Thanks! Just booked Bandon for 4 nights in June 2022 and will be playing Old Macdonald (which is why we're watching), Sheep Ranch, Pacific, and Bandon over 3 days. Haven't played there since I was in high school in 1999!
will the PGA tour please let Erik commentate a tournament!!!!! I love the shot for shot vlogs. keep it up. I think we all get stoked when you hit good shots and identify when they aren't hit "as desired." so glad I started watching this series!
Our boys trip to Bandon in April got cancelled due to the pandemic, so I'm living vicariously through these course vlogs. Really appreciate that EAL tried to make the experience feel as authentic as possible for me - that quintuple bogey was a mirror image of my blow-up holes.
It's nice to know that im not the only one who hacks it up from time to time. 3 Putts are my nemesis and its good to see Erik and I prove once and for all, Misery Loves Company.
I watched the teaser about the tree on your instagram, and was really expecting you to just whack the ball straight into the tree, based on the teaser.
Honestly I love that fact you do the talk over and the shot tracer and we can just watch you play golf and enjoy the beauty of the course great work keep it up
love these vlogs - as a very average golfer, its weirdly encouraging to see you occasionally meltdown and one of the best ways to really get a good look at a course before playing it is by watching someone you like play it on youtube.
“If you go to Bandon Dunes don’t make a course vlog, don’t write down your scores, just play for fun!” This is great advice that I should have taken before filming my round at Sheep Ranch last week 😂😂
Dude, I love course vlogs in general and yours are great! You've got a very funny, dry, self-deprecating style which is very funny and entertaining. You do a great job.
Love watching these to bring me back to Bandon. February can’t come soon enough! Playing 6 rounds, all five courses-Trails twice! Then Bandon Crossings in a cart on the way home! Oh Happy Day. Thanks EAL and RGC for the golf content as this NorCal guy shelters in place 🤙🏽
I don't want to watch another course vlog!! Yours are more real. Sometimes great shots, sometimes average shots. It works for me. Makes me feel normal.
I would love to play some links style course just never had the opportunity!! The 8000ft putt would of been cool if you could of knocked that in!! Good to hear you did better on the back 9!! Really like the course vlogs!!
man do i feel u on those 3 putts.... when u play a bunch of different courses its hard to get the putting dialed in. especially when u go from fast green to slow greens. almost impossible to not leave most putts short. great video per usual!
Love these videos! Wanted to point out that, it will be stroke 4 after dropping a ball that was lost off the tee box, when using the new local rule! Keep these coming!
Great video man! I hope you get some time to work on that short game! One of the most rewarding parts of golf for me. My high school coach used to force the team to compete from 100 yards in every practice. He'd have two of us pair up and play a hole stroke play style while the rest of the team watched, first to 3 wins. It was a great way to work on the short game and shave strokes during real matches - you can find yourself in some creative situations and build tons of feel around the greens. You're a way better golfer than I am or will be but maybe keeping it simple might help!
I told myself i was taking a break from golf after i shot 61 on 9 holes yesterday. (usually shoot mid low 40s with occasional dips into the high 30s.) after watching this I'm heading back out.
When the vlog started I wondered.. hmm it sounds like Erik is bummed.. LOL we all care so much about our score. I am speaking for myself here but.. +11 on the front 9 is more relatable to your audience than you probably realize!
The only thing missing Eric is the rain and wind, interspersed with a bit of sun to complete the authentic Scottish feel. They say if you can play links you can play anywhere.. Well, I for one dismiss that notion. I’ve been playing links for last 40 years and I’m still shite on every other course. Hahaha.
Hey Erik, there is a course that you should look into it’s called millsite golf club. It’s in emery county Utah in the middle of the nowhere. It’s got great views and is really fun.
Haha, speaking of "Falling Down" - would pay to see you in a pro-shop holding a slightly imperfect, still new ball, pointing at the advertisement banner and asking "does this look like the number 1 golf ball to you?!"
I do watch a lot of Peter Finch but tbh I enjoy your videos more. There’s something about watching a really good golfer make a 9 and at least appear to shrug it off and move on. Much love for Finch but he’s made three videos so far about the 11 he made a few weeks ago lol
I too way over-read the greens and the perceived break here. It felt like my caddy was telling me either left/ridge edge instead of being several cups out which I initially thought.
I'm not trying to be a douch that isn't my intention. How is he hitting 3rd shot after going OB and dropping where he went out? 10:39. Isn't rule stroke and distance? I have seen some local rules where you take 2 stroke penalty and drop in fairway to maintain pace of play.
Ya it’s stroke+distance. I know a lotta folks who play OB like a lateral red stake hazard. I try and politely teach them the rule. My friends dad taught me “it’s like you hit your first shot, it’s OB, then you have to hit from there back to the tee, and now you’re hitting 3.” OB can kill a good round real quick.
@@HumboldtB52Bombers okay so I understood the rule correctly. I know of a few local rules where you get a 2 club length drop in the fairway lateral to where the ball crossed the OB with 2 stroke penalty. More likely than not this is a better option because hitting 4 from the fairway is better than stroke and distance because you obviously could shank your 3rd stroke out again. Is it not the same for a lost ball?

I was wondering if anyone caught that lol that’s so funny 😂
Greens at OM are so big it's easy to lose count of your three-putts
Peter finch will be loving all the RGC fans coming his way now XD
Hopefully they don’t watch the video where Peter made an 11
Only four hours away is the most golf thing I’ve ever heard. And I love it.
The mini tracer on the divots is tight 😎

Editing and shot tracker are very well done 👍
Divot tracer! This is next level EAL! okay, enough exclamation points for me today.
There might be better golfers but no one comes close to your awesome and beautiful videos.
Cheers
The color grading in this one is just... chef kiss
These are the best videos of Bandon courses yet made. Please do sweetens cove

What a great video. Beautifully edited with great game and fun vibes. Makes me wanna go out even though it’s the middle of the night.
Love all of the Bandon properties. Another great video. Old Mac is underrated.
You've been hella inspiring, Erik!

@14:29 9th hole. On the green. Erik says "...I have a putt for 8,000 feet..." On the graphics: "Putter, 8,000 feet" Laughed so hard haha.
The old saying of never leave a birdie putt short is very applicable on these greens jeezus

first off - love the vlog! Didn't look like you got much help from your caddie.
It’s not Friday without a course vlog
You should post where your next tee time in the description section when you upload the videos, so people can try and pair up with you :D
Fwiw I played this course the same weekend - Old Mac was running WAY slower than Pac, Trails and Bandon Dunes - I feel these 3 putts. Shot 93.

Sorry man, but isn’t that your 4th shot @ 10:30? It’s O.B and you didn’t hit a provisional. Someone correct me if I’m wrong!
Or was it just a hazard & you found your ball & dropped it? Still figuring out the rules haha
