Maybe being a bias Irishman here but i dont think Paddy Harrington gets enough credit and plaudits for winning back to back Open Championships. The Golf he played during that period was superb and His 3 wood on 17th in 2008 was one of the greats open shots ive ever seen.

To those who think it "petty " or " disrespectful " etc of the R and A not to invite Norman to celebratory events this week , I ask you to consider this.... " Would you invite someone into your home for dinner , who is actively plotting and planning with a third party , to harm and possibly destroy your family , whom you have devoted your entire life to protecting and nurturing ( despite you not being perfect in every way ) ? " I salute the R and A in their decision to stand up and make a clear ' no-nonsense stance ' against the principle architect who is carrying out the most serious threat ever to the short and long-term structure and existence of this sport we all love to either play or watch.... The time for pussy-footing around with this Saudi-regime and its willing , greed-driven and selfish foot-soldiers is over... To those golfers who wish to consume their obscene amounts of money , without a care for the consequences to the game that has made them very rich individuals already , then just go...and go now.....the sport of golf is better off without you self-centred , narcissistic, greedy individuals...
