Isn't there a financial incentive for pros to do more regarding golf and selling golf to a wider audience? I think Rory won an award for doing something similar.
@@edj9961I think its more on the Brand side. Seems like TaylorMade began seeing the reach of YT Golf and spends more of their marketing focus on that. And Tommy also seems to respect and watch some content, as seen in Grants Video. Great times to get amazing insights altogether
I'd argue that Tommy is the most down to earth tour player. Man is so humble. It's impossible not to like him in my opinion. I'm a Rory fan, but I was happy to see Tommy winning last week. Love his game and personality. I see a big year ahead for him
I had no idea how much I needed a video of Tommy just chatting about his golf clubs. I think I could listen to this on a loop and it would never get old!
Tommy has to be one of the nicest guys you could ever meet, and I don't mean just touring pro, either. Just so down to Earth, honest, light-hearted, and a fantastic sense of humor. Easily one of my favorites to root for on tour! Good luck to you this year, Tommy! I sense a huge win this year for you, my friend! Thank you for the fantastic content as always, Rick & Co!
Golf Digest did an article on the 14 club limit. The short version is during the 1930s golf clubs went from hickory to steel, and it was not uncommon for golfers both Amat and professional to carry upwards of 30 clubs. So it was the caddies who pushed for the club limit rule, so they didn’t have to carry two bags. Now as to 14, no one is completely sure, but that was the standard set of clubs in the mid 1930s (4 woods, 9 irons, and a putter)
14 because that was half of what the the Augusta winner had in the bag the year of the decision. The president of usga was afraid of technology overreaching the players skill.
Probably imo, one of the best vids done. TF so natural and it’s refreshing to find a Pro be so nonchalant about things then he hits a shot and his numbers are spot on.
"welcome to HIT" on Rick Shiels channel. Don't understand the point of HIT if all the big reveiws are on this channel anyway. If anything the flagship reviews should be on HIT to promote people to got there, and things like this should 1000% be on HIT.
I’m glad this was brought up as it’s 100% what I was thinking at the start… either commit to HIT or don’t, no one actually cares. We understand you are paid per 1000 views and that’s fine, so more views on this channel, makes sense. But stop with the cloak and dagger
On so many levels this video is amazing. This super chilled out what’s in the bag/interview is fantastic. But when Rick showed Tommy the head cover trick takes the cake!
I followed Tommy for 18 holes at 2015 British Masters at Woburn, just because he was a convenient tee time, if I'm honest. I've been a massive fan of him ever since... clearly a great talent, and coming back in to form at that time, but you could just tell he was a top fella. Cracked up the crowd a couple of times with his comments on Gary Stal's regular meltdowns. A major in 2024 would be very well deserved.
Credit where credit’s due, you absolutely smashed this video Rick, really relaxed and super knowledgeable. Tommy is an absolute gentleman and so genuine. Great job.
This is so much better than just covering the clubs! Understanding how they use their clubs and what distances they like to cover was really good. Great video Rick
What a great in depth video on Tommy’s bag. I feel like we got a lot out of this video and a real insight into Tommy’s bag/club set up from your questions, you seem to put him at ease Rick and things just flowed. Awesome job on this one!
Tommy is a great bloke, no airs and graces just a straight forward honest man. Love watching him out on tour and hopefully this will be his year for a major or 2 ⛳️🏌♂️
Tommy on your channel and Grant's, both today! Tommy is awesome, glad to see more of him on YT. And good to see the pros with the content creators. This is one of the best What's in the Bag videos I've seen. Keep up the good work, Rick. And you're looking great and healthier.
Was good to hear Tommy also uses the pix logo to assist with focus. I often go back to the pix ball when my eyes begin to wander off the ball before impact. Great video. Tommy is such a cool guy. One of my favourites on tour.
I wondered “How can it be 40 minutes for WITB?” - but that was outstanding content. Rick’s interview brought Tommy’s thought process, and gave us insights we rarely get. Great work!
Hi Rick, Just watched What's in the bag with Tommy, so cool how the conversation was so relaxed, thought I was there with you, oddly my younger brother was in Dubai few months ago and happened to be walking towards Tommy and my brother genuinely did not want to approach him, respectful of his privacy, although, he did as he was alone, my brother did play the Earth course whilst there and having a short conversation with TF made it very special for my brother, and your video just proved what a fantastic guy Tommy is, truly genuine I envy my brother as it was so special for him ... my brother pretty good too plays off 3 ... your channels on UA-cam are brilliant keep up the great content, and thanks again, fantastic 40 minutes of golf conversation 👌
I normally get bored with WITB videos but that was the best I’ve seen. Credit to you Rick. It was the most relaxed you’ve been with a tour pro and your knowledge came to the fore. A great watch.
Golf is super lucky to have a guy like Tommy Fleetwood. I love listening to him in these types of settings and he's always super generous with his time.
Easily the best video you’ve ever done, Tommy is a lovely bloke, just a great insight to his thoughts on his clubs, with great input from you. More of these please ⛳️👌
Great piece TeamRS. Originally questioned 40 mins for a WITB piece. But definitely worth it. Helps with Tommy being so natural. Look forward to the next episode.
This is an absolutely fascinating video, not just on what is in Tommy Fleetwood's bag but also the decision making behind his selections. Get the feeling they go back a long way as they're both very comfortable in each other's company.
I enjoyed this video 10X more than I expected I would. Absolutely just love the chill vibes and good conversation as you slowly worked through his bag. Rick did a great job of asking good questions, and it just came natural cuz he is such an equipment nerd. Looking forward to more of these videos!
What a lovely lad. Just a genuine, down-to-earth gentleman. Always thought very highly of him, and to top it off we share the same birthday! Good luck this season Tommy, I hope you win this season on the PGA Tour. Also, cheeky bugger the cameraman is panning over to the blonde in the hitting bay a few times 😂
Wonderful content. Thank you. It was a real pleasure to listen what Tommy had to share with us. He seems like a real down to earth guy. And you Rick added some good value as well. 😊😊😊😊
Thank you Rick and Tommy for this excellent video. It is so nice to see these collaborations and get together‘s becoming more common it’s basically uniting the golf world which is what it really needs right now.👍👍👍
I think that would have to be one of my favorite videos you have done on the channel. Going through a Pros bag especially Tommy Fleetwood bag. Just getting an idea how he plays and what clubs he's got. He is also very humble which is a big plus
Really appreciate the discussion of the rationale behind the selection of each aspect of the clubs from grip to shaft to club head. Such an honest presentation by Tommy and follow-up by Rick. Great idea for H.I.T.
What a brilliant interview. Easy going, open, and interesting to listen to. Rick, keep it going as you have a nice and comfortable rapport with folks. Saying that TF was a blast!
Great Video! I had the pleasure of meeting Tommy last year November at the Nedbank Golf Challenge, Humble guy amd will to take time for a photo. Have followed Tommy for many years and he is one of my favorite golfers in the world. So interesting to see how Tommy views each club and thoughts behind his setup. Was also cool to see that he didn't know what LS stood for and that the Mini driver cover could be turned inside out. You would assume that tour pros know every detail about the brands they play. What a cool video, it was awesome to watch. All the best for 2024 Seasom Tommy, will be backing you all the wat to win some majors! See you at the Nedbank Golf Challenge 2024. That's what I heard too! 14 is kind of arbitrary. My guess is they realized 20 too many, 10 is too few and just picked a number and never changed lol
