Honestly, as a long term watcher of the channel and new player of Mk11 (sort of) I can say that people can't just 'learn' how to play Mk11 from this video. It takes hours of practice with every character just to even be good at one character. If you want to be good at every character you need good memory and hours of practice on all characters. This video is very good at teaching the basics. Even taught me a couple things, very good basic (quick) tutorial video. But if you expect to be as good as Lolhounds or Super from this video then you have to sink a lot of time into the game to be good at the characters

I was born in 1991. The vast majority of my life has been spent playing every single Mortal Kombat game that ever came out but only as a casual player to have fun. I was just curious to see what this video was about and it showed me so many things I didn’t know about. So while I’m better than almost anyone, I know at the game I’m absolutely dog shit compared to anyone who’s even remotely good for real. This video is definitely gonna make me much better because there’s so many things I didn’t even fucking know about . I did like the frames. I kind of understood but didn’t bother learning it because I thought it would take the fun out of it but the way you described it makes it so easy to understand lol

Scorpion searing rage is fine but for sub-zero, thin ice has low potential compared to the other variations, Personally I love both the avalanche and dead of winter as they offer new ways to play. On avalanche, the ice trap offers so much potential, personally I put it when I have an opponents your constantly blocking, then a F2 into BF3 slide into them and AMPLIFY it to throw them into the icetrap, then I to a jumping 2 into B143 into another slide. And I use his DF4 AMP after F2 and if the enemy blocks it, DF4 Amp gives me a mixup and keeps me safe! Now Dead of winter has some other amazing stuff too but yea, I heavily recommend not using thin ice of subzero, any other variation is better. Let me know your thoughts and no offense to Thin Ice players, this is just my opinion and recommendation from my own experience.

The thing that's so crazy to me is how much easier MK is to Tekken. Honestly, Tekken 7 is the only game in history to make me give up due to how difficult i was finding it to get good. MK is like child's play compared to it. Even the longest combos are simple in comparison to a regular combo in Tekken. It's very refreshing because i can focus on positioning, defence and timing rather than being so focused on tiny little details that Tekken forces you to learn. Don't get me wrong, i absolutely adore Tekken and i much prefer watching it over every other fighting game, but MK appeals to me so much more as a player.

tbh, I get it. One hundred thousand percent. Mainstream consoles (and thus mainstream controllers) have absolutely terrible D-Pads. Getting a forward-jump off without using two fingers in claw-grip on the d-pad works like 1/3 times. I mostly use them for moves in Fighterz too, because a quarter-circle or whatever just feels less like a nightmare using a stick rather than using a d-pad where if it doesn't register a distinct right-down press in between right and down my move isn't coming out.

Why am I watching I know how to play mk

  • @squilliam.919

12:14 No, save your time. If you look in the frame data of each move or string there is something in the middle called “Cancel”. If there is a number there you can cancel that move or string into special moves. If it just says “N/A”, you cannot cancel into special moves. In my experience, the lower the number, the easier it is to cancel.

I was watching this because I haven't played MK11 before and I just got it, but all I did was learn about frames. Everything else I learned from MK9.

I’m Still having trouble with game but this helped. The string I never knew. Then not hitting the buttons one at a time( which is what I was doing) was explained here. Thanks. Make more videos like this please. Like what are ‘Abilities’ and ‘Variations ’ do? Thanks

I've been having problems learning mk11! The last mk I played was trilogy and remember the practice it took on 1, 2 and 3 and trilogy just was fine! Just gotta sit down and practice!

I just played mk11 with my brother and this were his rules:
    -he doesn’t wanna block
    -he doesn’t want to throw
-he doesn’t want to use combos
-he doesn’t want to use special moves
-he only wants to jump and press square
So basically he doesn’t want to fight in a fighting game and then says he can beat me.

    Great vid btw

it's harder to press 2 directional buttons on a d-pad then it is on a keyboard, because on the keyboard, you keep a finger on each button at all times.on the d-pad you only have your thumb for all 4 buttons, and you need to press 2 buttons at a time with the same finger.
