  • For our 100th episode of CineFix Movie Lists we decided to take a look back at ALL the movies we've EVER talked about. We counted how many times we picked each movie, even how many times we mentioned them and came up with the 100 movies we've talked about the most. And frankly... we thought 'The Third Man' would be higher!

Forgetting about this video for a moment I just wanted to thank Cinefix (& especially movie lists) for being IMO the most informative, consistently high quality and captivating movie channel on UA-cam. It's been said 1000 times before but in the time of watchmojo and whatculture Cinefix remain an absolute gem and look forward every time I see them put up a new video.

Although the first 20 movies are the “I'm a cinephile” or “I want to study cinema” starter pack, the balance you've had in your lists between accessible and sophisticated is what makes this channel one of the best places to discover cinema, or think of cinema. Even if you sometimes choose popular movies for the views. Keep up the great work guys, you remind us of the beauty of cinema.

@Ben Porter do you have any idea what Akira Kurosawa or Jean Luc Godard did for cinema? Because of them we are still using their techniques to this day! Just because you don’t understand their movies does not make them pretentious. Your pretentious for thinking that way though

The Lobster (it was on the list with multiple mentions)
I say it's basically any contemporary young-adult dystopian movie forged into something with much more emphasis on the philosophical and the societal and then for adults. Interestingly I also found this its weakness at the same time since as the movie develops it relies more and more on this subgenre that often gets a whole lot of slack for being immature and unoriginal in the first place (ex.: the Hunger Games) whilst seemingly not paying it any real hommage.

They are more legit than most movie list channels out there (yes You know who I'm referring to) due to the variety of films as well as the diverse and creative approach to these lists as seen with some of my favorite including "Best Dialogue," "Best Villains," "Best Scenes" and "Most Emotional Movies." It's a lot more talked about from the people who saw it in CInerama in 1968. Because it opened the world. Tony Master's production design was probably the greatest special effect of all time. Because it was real. The pod bay, the centrifuge, etc. They had a visceral effect on the audience. And they still do.

Umbrella Man the lion king is on this list. It's pretty high but it's there, but given how this is just the most mentioned films in their time discussing them its not surprising. There are so many great animated films but people either don't know them very well and thus aren't very good examples to give an audience or potentially struggle to fit into what's being discussed. The medium is fairly young, and hopefully as more people explore it we'll get some more classics worth discussing.

You know, I remember a time not that long ago when the comments on CineFix were pretty insightful and intelligent, and actual discussion took place. What happened? Nearly all the top comments are low-effort "in-jokes" or stupid one-liners. I'm depressed, because this was one of the last places I could go on UA-cam for thoughtful dialogue. Is it my imagination or has UA-cam become exponentially dumber over the last year or two?

This is why I enjoy CineFix so much.
Not only can they be an introductory guide to anyone who may want to become a cinephile. But for many of their picks, they offer in-depth analysis of why a movie is good, rememberable, or did something well.

I love your lists. Everytime I watch one, I feel like it reignites my passion for movies like I had when I was young. The thing is, I never really lost that passion to begin with, but you still manage to do it. I don't know if that makes sense or if I there are better words to convey that feeling, but it's the best i've got.
Thank you for being not only one of the best film channels on UA-cam, but one of the best channels period, and thank you for your wonderful content and all the work you put in. Congratulations on list #100! Now onward to at least 100 more. I'll certainly be watching :)

2001 a space odyssey is the most talked about movie of all time. critics , movie lovers and scholars are discussing this movie for decades along with kubrick's another masterpiece the shining. 2001 is not just a most discussed but the greatest movie ever made . 2001 is a piece of an art . film making is an art and kubrick is the greatest artist of all time .he was a genius. his movies are most discussed movies of all time. Like a painting everyone would find something different from his movie a different meaning or different metaphor or a hidden theme.
