It is one of my favorits as your facial expressions in the moment were adorable....in Chicago , this old lady waits for the ding... along with Nic's Tide Line..to tell me to grab History!!!!
As always your extra work in editing, and well thought out camera angles, make sunday morning viewing a joy. Thank you for attention to detail ( and appreciation of little lives of creatures) have a great week.
As always, a great adventure! The bit of shell you found looks like a crab under shell. I don't know if anyone else has commented as I know I'm late to the party :) great finds today!
Probably she was shedding her old shell as she grew so not necessarily dead, just on moved to a bigger :home:. the first shell is a waved whelk, Buccinum undatum. We have them in New England, I think they are on both sides of the Atlantic in cold waters.
Necklace was great and the trading coin came up brilliantly too. Was nice to meet Vicks, she has a look of Nicola lol. Great finds, interesting stories about the shells. Xx
I always loved the thrill of finding everyday forgotten treasure from the past when I was younger. Yesterday we took our puppy for his first splash in the sea and in the shingle was a broken glass bottle. I was going to put it in the bin when we went back to the car but then I realised it was a fab peice of an Aqua coloured bottle. No markings but plenty of air bubbles. It has a convexed panel on three sides . The forth side is straight.
Terrific video. Thank you for actually "writing over" the letters on the traders token. I simply could never make out what it said even after stopping the video and having a good stare. Thank you for taking us along on your mud'venture.
The ribbed looking shield creature as you call it, Is the bottom of a crab it's called the apron. And that's how you can tell if it's a male or female crab by the shape of the apron. 🦀
Love Nellie, most amazing Si, Sunday almost complete, now onto Nicola. I think your little creature might be an isopod, your necklace lovely. Keep going strong and see you next mudventure. 😊🐘🍁🇨🇦👣
I agree with some of the others here. I don't think those shells that you guys found at night were from ballast. Sand dollars of that size are extremely hard to find intact. The shell with the spines (a snail called a lambis), the spines would have broken off if it had been used as ballast. The "creature from the deep" is part of the underside of a crab carapace know as the Pleon.
OMG! What a terrific video! I can't believe Vick's luck finding that gold ring - and thought it so funny that it wasn't in the review at the end because it was still firmly on her finger. It's not going anywhere!!! Those seashells were totally awesome. I can't believe they were simply ship's ballast, because they are so beautiful. You'd pay upwards of £30 for each of those in a home decor store! The trader's token was such a great find - loved how you explained the mis-spelling on it. And as for that gorgeous necklace you've made - think I'll be making a bid! I loved seeing that you put food out for your hedgehog - a man after my own heart :) Thanks Si - I just love your channel!
The ring, is that Welsh gold?, it’s pink like wash gold, not much of that available these days, the queen has some, used it in Kate and Williams ring. 🇺🇦💍
The movie there filming is "Si-finds the movie" and that seen is when Si makes his millions and he comes back to where it all started to relive his memories
As far as the shells are concerned, I have my doubts as to them being ballast. Those particular shells are hard to find - the sand dollar isn't rare, but hard to find intact - so I suspect someone got rid of a shell collection. Enjoyed this video, as always!
@@momtrips6783 Yes, and the really large whelk/conch appears to have had quite a bit of work done to produce those beautiful iridescent bands of color (the wide band around the body and the narrower band above it at the suture). I don’t know if that is simply a polishing process or if there is some cutting away of material followed by polishing? It doesn’t look like any natural shell I’ve ever seen, but I’m definitely not a shell expert! @Susan Boon Sand dollars are all over the beaches in the US. I’ve picked them up from Cape Cod to South Carolina to Florida in the East, on Texas gulf beaches and on the beaches of California.
Love the random hedge hog in your garden, very funny and cute. You guys had some awesome finds, love all the sea shells, and the Italian pottery has a very nice design.👍✌💖
At first glance Jules looked like Nicola due to her stripe shirt! Lol thought that it might be a mudlarking women's uniform. Great day, glad to come along.
Hi Si, I think the 'creature from the deep', is actually the flap from the underside of a crab shell. Some unusual finds for you all on this hunt, but the traders token is a beauty, well done guys 👍
Watching you while I'm on CV quarantine. Almost over it.. But always love watching you!!! Wonderful finds! I absolutely love the Hedgehog! Reminds me of Beatrix Potter
That unknown "creature" I believe to be an "apron" from a crab. If I'm wrong, sorry. I love your videos and look forward to Sunday mornings. It's great to see all your cool finds. Thanks and have fun!
I’m back home and catching up on your videos. 😆, you guys and your jokes. I agree, that spot does look like a pipe graveyard. That’s such a pretty blue bead, and the faceted bead is too. Beautiful old ring Vicks found. The swirl pattern on the earthenware piece is lovely. Necklace is lovely
Thank you for your excellent video. Great finds and love how you clean up coins etc., and recycle finds into beautiful items. Take care and stay safe 👍🇦🇺🪃 xxx
Incredible night larking!! You should do that more often. Those shells were incredible. This video had a lot of my favorite things! Thank u❤. I’m bingeing again. Lol. I’ve been sick for a week but I finally feel great again. Your videos have kept me entertained!
Wow, Si! Lots of great finds today! The seashells were spectacular and an unbelievable thing to see just sitting and waiting for you! Nice token, coins, buttons, pottery bits and garnets/beads. Loved your friends’ finds of that gorgeous ring, pipe and pottery pieces. You’re right - the shard with the cathedral is so perfect! And I like the marbleized pattern piece as well. I’m fairly certain that the giant ring, with only 1 stone left in, is a napkin ring. Loved your jewelry upcycle project! Such a pretty necklace and somebody will be very lucky to be wearing that! Thanks for sharing what’s going on around you on the foreshore. I enjoyed seeing the TV crew at work and it’s always such a treat to see the birds just going about their day. The one with the eel won’t be hungry for a day or two, I’d think! 😂
I'm glad you stitched in the night lark. The riverfront lights are always awesome to see. Great find on the trader's token. It cleaned up nice 👍 I kept waiting for you to poke your finger cleaning up the garnets, because that's what I would have done 😆
it's a bit funny that shell ballast from tropical ports are found on the Thames..and at tropical ports one can find stone ballast from Europe along the shores there..indeed at Havana there were ballast merchants that would gather these stones and supply vessels with them..ive several in my garden that I've found
Hello 👋 from New York USA you guy's Found some Amazing Finds my Favorite Definitely Was the Glass Beads 🧿 and the the piece of Pottery with the Castle 🏰 on it Thank you for bringing me along with you I can't wait to see what you Find next ☺️🙂

Wow mudlarking looks like so much fun. It’s on my bucket list to go to England and get my permit to lark on the Thames. You will have to show me how. Nice finds as always Si.

Watching you from Seattle, Washington State USA. God Bless, love to all, Cathy from Seattle................
Top of my list when I come to the Thames is ‘beads’ - I hope to eventually find enough to make a Thames bracelet 🤞🏼 although I know this will probably take me years! Congrats on the traders token- it’s gorgeous!! ❤️
Great finds. I’m a beaded and oh to find beads n garnets!!! Shells. Beautiful. Looked like a collection someone didn’t want. Beautiful. Thank You again for a great early Sunday morning view.
Pretty crafting again Simon. Do you know if the bead with the facets is Victorian? I found similar one, only made out of other material (stone some kind of) during my visit last May. I just love the Thames pins, just made a needle book to keep my finds (not that many, but hope to find more next time). Cheers xxx

its a whelk, every Londoner eats whelks, they are certainly british, pint of cockles and a few whelks with vinegar, luvly jubly
wheatsheaf tokens are usually bakers not pubs, symbol of bakers guild, also the co-op insignia
I had to do a double-take, I thought Vicks was Nic at first. Great job scoring that ring!!!
Haha. Her sister from another mister 👍🏻🐾🧡
It’s the Stripey shirt.😊
Beads, garnets, pipes, Nelly & a Hedgehog.....couldn't get much better!
Aw thanks Thelka 👍🏻🐾🧡
I think someone wanted to be part of a mudlarking video and planted their shell collection to see if anyone would feature it.
Haha maybe!
As always your extra work in editing, and well thought out camera angles, make sunday morning viewing a joy. Thank you for attention to detail ( and appreciation of little lives of creatures) have a great week.
Thanks so much! Really appreciate that 👍🏻🐾🧡

@@Sifinds Female crab pad. Theirs are wider/spade shaped so they can carry their eggs. Males are thinner.
Yep. The "apron" off a crab.

the pale crustacean item is from the ventral abdomen plate of a crab
Ah thanks Martha. That makes sense! 👍🏻🐾🧡
Si I think the first shell you found is a Welk shell, the second shell is sometimes called a turbo shell its worth about £20
Ah thanks Terri. That’s a steal. It’s beautiful 👍🏻🐾🧡
What a beautiful ring Vicks found. Nice finds all around. As always thanks for a bit of history.
Cheers Susan!! 👍🏻🐾🧡
That shell is absolutely gorgeous! And her ring find was amazing, I love the old gold!❤Not a bad trader's token either!☺️
