A 3 trigger Steven's double barrel shotgun, same modle, but in far better condition than the one shown in the video, recently sold on gunauction for $800. Rare and / or old, doesn't necessarily mean valuable.
It has nothing to do with being fired. I have seen firearms that cannot be fired and they sold for 10-15k all day at auction. It’s just not very sought after in the collector market, it’s not military, and from not an “amazing” maker

I get exactly what u saying bro. But it irritates the dickens out of me. Its a store that's going to resale it so they have to make money of it no matter what it is
It would need to be Scottish or English to be worth money! A three trigger and barrel shotgun from the 1800s made by the british sell for £50,000 This is worth well under $1k
Well, in the poop community it's all about condition. This particular piece has candy corn put in to where the corn should be. It has obviously been refurbished, and it has clearly been broken and put back together. I'll give you two dollars for it, take it or flush it.
The insurance adjuster got adjusted. He's used to sticking it to others 🤣 "My ❤ appraised this at 100k. A 99.5% price reduction feels like a dagger to my sweet ole soul."
Uh... I thought it was publicly known by now that during the first 4-5 seasons, Chum did have a drug problem... And then again through some other seasons.
Happy Birthday, Rick! Unfortunately my gift has to be wrapped, taped, and who knows how long it will sit on your shelf. I also need to get it framed (spoiler for the gift!).
Crack in the stock, general wear, pitting both outside the barrels and in the bore, and lastly with the Damascus barrels it's potentially VERY dangerous to shoot it even with black powder loaded shells. I agree with the appraisal value.
"I'm gonna keep doing my research" lol bruh so you're gonna ignore the expert and instead find some kook whose gonna just agree with ya? Seriously find that sucker who offered you 2500 and shake him down lol
It's a common misconception that folded steels like Damascus and swords made with tamahagane are superior. In the case of Damascus they folded good quality steel with poor quality steel so that they can get stretch out their supply of quality steel. In the case of Japanese tamahagane the folding process is to squeeze out impurities and without folding it would make a much weaker sword.
Eh... not quite. In tamahagane it's also effecting the carbon content. In pattern welded steel, it isn't really poor steel, just lower carbon. Really the idea was that you could take a high carbon steel (which is more brittle), and lower carbon steel (which loses it's edge faster), and get the best of both worlds. You remove impurities during that process as well, which means it actually is somewhat better quality. If you want to save on high quality steel you'd do something more like a san mai technique, you could even use ductile or wrought iron for that. Edit: which is how axes were commonly made in Europe. Crap steel for most of it and high quality steel for the cutting edge welded in.
I love it when the expert hits them with a really low number like saying the value is maybe around 700 and seller says that the lowest they will go is 10,000 instead of 100,000. Just because you dropped the price doesn't mean you will get any closer to a deal. If you think it's more valuable list it somewhere for that then wait 100 years.
I have an old Stevens double barrel, but no engraving and no 3rd trigger. Been in the family for over a hundred years. I wouldn't sell it for any price.
One sold back in 2016 for $3,163 and was in way way better shape than this one was and it sold above expected price which was $1,000-$1,500 another one I looked at sold for 1650 and then the third one sold for $850 so for this one in that condition compared to the other I have seen sold at auction it was a fair and accurate price.
Everyone thinks they are an expert. I just handed my level to my customer today and told him to hang the door himself or my rate goes up by $20/hr more if he’s gonna keep hanging around and questioning my every action.
How is it possible for it to be so rare, the only engraved one hes seen in 16 years of appraising firearms, and even in good shape it would only be worth MAYBE $2,000 - $3,000?
"Sounds like you have a brief case not a shotgun." Wow, the one & only time you have ever gotten me to laugh Chum. "I hope to get a check today for $100,000." 😆😆😂😂🤣🤣 In what world you live in.
"In my heart I know it's worth more money" is exactly the problem dude lol. Just because it's got sentimental value doesn't mean anyone is paying extra for that.
Man says I have a cure for every disease known to man. Rick says ok that is cool. Best I can do for you is 35 dollars and 65 cents, a half eaten bag of Doritos and a Pepsi.
Literally nothing that was said about Damascus steel in this video is correct. 1. That looks like pattern welded (twisted to be precise) steel, not Damascus. pattern welded steel was a northern European thing, not a middle east thing 2. Damascus steel is not made by wrapping wires around a solid bar and hammering it all together. in fact I've never heard of that being done even though that would be a type of pattern welded steel, not damascus. Damascus steel is made from crucible steel, and the patterns in it dont come from hammering different bits of steel together (pattern welded steel) but from folding the crucible Wootz steel and the natural layering in it.
I think corey screwed up what the show's expert told him. It used to be that the steels for pattern welding were held together with a few pieces of steel wire until the first weld was set.
