@@DogtrainerRidgesideK9 love your training, too. I used advertise training for my first three dogs (west highland white terrier, bull terrier, and German pinscher) and I ended up with two fear biters and a dog with a collapsed trachea.
I graduated to the Dogo 6 yrs ago. She moves cows, herds goats . Keeps the coyotes and javelina at bay. One of the smartest I have ever had. Sold on the breed! Nice work with the pup.
I've ordered a male pup (Cortez) from Bulgaria and a girl locally (Loumé) here in Lithuania for hunting on our land and protecting our property etc..I'm so excited!!
Sounds like you don’t socialize your dog at all, do not leave the dog in the cage for long periods of time.. you must make a connection with the dog, or give it back to the breeder
When I told my family I was getting a Doggo after my blue nose pit. You would think I was buying a wild wolf. They think I lost my damn mind. 😢. I trained my pit to do all the basic commands but also to obey when threats are around. I've had him off leash in parks, streets and had dogs on their leash walking 5/8 ft away from me, lunging on the leash trying to get to my dog to fight. An my pit would just sit next to me, inching forward to get in front of me like he's a combat vet in a trench slowly wiggling his self up to the front of my body to protect me from the threat, all without getting up or defied my command. Hair on his back is raised he's definitely agitated, he doesn't make a sound he just sits there looks at the threat and looks at me. Waiting for whatever comand I could give. I stay laying in the grass on a blanket. While the other person's dog is lunging and barking and acting like the owner doesn't train him. All while I get dirty looks by the owner and other people, because I don't have my dog on a leash and he's not doing anything while under threat but they're looking at me. I will look at them right back in the eye until they look away. The week always want to blame others for their own failings. If you train your dog well, the difference is obvious, Karen's/Kevin's hate being outed.
Awesome video brother, if you give cable for free shaping activities how do you keep the dog having an appetite for regular meals such as breakfast, I’ve had dogs there for one reason or another wouldn’t eat after a training sessionWhere treats were used how do you keep the dog wanting to eat at regular times. Do you increase the amount of physical Activity to offset that
All depends on the dogs. He is earning his food, not treats and he is super food motivated, so it makes it easy for him. But yes, total pain when dogs are not food motivated
far too much drive and physical energy in a young Dogo Argentino for most any owner. But MOST dog owners NEVER take all of 1 full obedience class. So, it makes sense... I handled maybe 40 dogs over the years and 3 of my own were CGC certified and 1 an APBT 'game type', so I see what most owners do NOT know at all.
It is so funny, I did not watch this video and think this when seeing this pup, but having my own dogo and loving them I could not imagine a dog any other way. I actually thought this dogo pup was not as active as I would have hoped, but the true will to please was there.
If you don't cut off their ears, you will have a family dog that will never attack your family. Although to have them you must have a backyard, as they were made for hunting wild boar.
Umm I think if he’s being trained to be a good boy by this guy he’s most likely not gonna be aggressive like other dogs who have been mistreated by their owner. Or. Get this… TRAINED to fight. It’s all about the human not the dog😉
I have a Dogo Argentino and he is the best dog ever!
Agreed

My doberman cries when he's in a "place".
Will free shaping him to it make him like being on it more?
yes 100%
