Facemask penalties are one of the most dangerous things in the NFL…. any personal foul should be able to be called from the replay if the refs miss it… if they’re gonna make a hip tackle a foul out of “safety“ they sure as heck should be able to generate flags from the replay booth on things as flagrant and dangerous as facemasks if they truly want to put it into it… I think what makes this so infuriating is that it was a flagrant in the sense that he didn’t just grab it and let go. He literally pulled him to the ground by his face mask.

Here’s what I see, the Vikings are a gimmick team, if their style doesn’t work they get worked. I think it’s due to not being able to get push from both the interior Oline and Dline. If you can’t control the line of scrimmage you have to resort to non traditional ways to get stops or move the ball.

The Vikings are the NFL version of what the Michigan Wolverines were in college when Michigan had Don Brown as DC.
Michigan would destroy teams with lesser talent like Minnesota does, and lose every game vs. teams that had equal or better talent just like Minnesota does…
Brown is exactly the same defensive coordinator as Minnesota has, blitz happy imbecile leaving the middle of the field wide open at all times to be gutted…

I think it’s time to admit the obvious elephant in the room. These games are intentionally manipulated to affect betting lines and live betting. There is no way these kind of calls or non calls can be legitimate. The reason this official keeps making these ridiculous calls is because he’s supposed to make these bad calls to affect the billion dollar betting lines. C’mon people, a vast majority already know this and it’s time for a real discussion about this topic that is taboo for most of the media. BTW, this wouldn’t be the proverbial “conspiracy” as you say. By definition a conspiracy has to be “unlawful” and it’s not “unlawful” for the NFL to fix games that is already labeled as “Sports Entertainment” like Wrestling is.

It's all BS, he couldn't see Darnold's facemask fine. But just the way he was brought down should've told told him a lot, it was not a body tackle, the defender's arm was fully extended and clearly reaching in the helmet area and Darnold's body was blatantly yanked from his head back. A competent official would easily see that especially being so close to the play. If that's not enough, the ref on the other side of the endzone clearly DID have eyes on the facemask and also did not throw his flag. Why not just throw the flag while you figure out what happened? You can always decide to pick it up if it's decided no penalty actually occurred. These refs are consistently proving that they are not capable of making rhe right calls when they matter most. And considering 80% of the betting money was on the Vikings, coupled with the over/under at 48.5, or 48 in some books, it makes that no call look a hell of a lot worse and just feeds into the narrative that some of these games if not most or even all of them could be rigged. People are going to be calling for investigations if this keeps happening, with good cause.

I share the thinking of "you gotta live with bad ref calls" for the most part, but I think this level of missed call transcends that whole argument. If a player can commit the most BLATANT penalty right in front of two referees and get away with it, and all we will get is a comment from the refs after the game saying "they couldn't see it clearly" and absolutely nothing else will come out of that, then who's to say the league can't and won't blatantly decide the outcome of games through bad refereeing since there is nothing anyone can do to refute them. This is the type of call that severely diminishes my enjoyment of the sport.

I like all the fans are angry with a bad call, but I am more upset that this team was not playing well and were flat and not the ream that started the season. The rest of cc the NFL has figured out what you can do to deal with the defense. They have figured how make them look like a bad defense. Tge Offensive line is also looking ragged at best, and with #71 injured last night, I hope the best for him. So if the Staff of tge Vikings can't get the team up and ready for the games, they have to change the scheme on both sides of the ball because it's not working. As the season goes on, the injury monster seems to show up and that seems to happen much on this team in the middle of the season. Many of the top players try to get more to go the extra mile, and leads to injury. This is a decent team, but may make the playoffs, but there are better teams.
