That's awesome that you are pursuing a PhD! I think one of the most daunting parts of a PhD is finding original research. I want to go for a PhD, but I'm terrified to do it lol.
Also, I totally agree with the advice you gave about the personal statement. Write about something to get in the door, then figure out what you actually want to do once you are in. I wrote my personal statement for my masters about robotics, but changed at the last minute before the semester started to solid mechanics related stuff.
Honestly, don’t be afraid of the PhD; it’s just a project. Nothing special. Except you get paid lol. I think hardest part of PhD is staying motivated and getting the position in the first place:) anyways, don’t worry about it for now. Do it when you are ready if you want!

i know you already have a video that says you use matlab and phyton, but i want to know what cad software you use? and have you try other simulation software like ansys, comsol, abaqus, nastran, etc?
I use solidworks but AutoCAD is free for students so look into that:)
@@RiverTechJess for simulation engineer did we need to get cad certification like cswa (solidworks) and autodesk certified user (inventor)? or just focuss on our simulation software?

Hello, I'm studying mechanical engineering from India (in my final year of bachelor's degree) & I want to apply for Masters' in Germany..I'm specifically interested to pursue masters in subjects - Machine design, manufacturing/production engineering or Thermal engineering..So, please could you help me to figure out what exams I need to give, What universities/college should I apply to & Is German language exam really necessary to be cleared?

@@RiverTechJess Also wanted to ask if there's any specifically best or mostly used design software (that is important to learn & practice) all over the world out of all the design softwares available..like SolidWorks, CATIA, Siemens NX or Creo?...Or is it fine to just have a good knowledge on any one? Cause, till now I have only learned & have worked on SolidWorks & CREO for designing.
