Just wanted to add. The statement of purpose doesn't seem to have weight if you don't have a good "background". I tried everything possible. Used AcademicHelp to correct grammar mistake, have a detailed resume (both academic and work descriptions) and still, I didn't get admitted. It was my second consecutive application (second intake app). Sometimes you should accept it and give up. That's how it is.

I've just checked in another video, and one of the panelists said that it is not recommendable to cite a specific professor because this professor may not be available in the semester you are applying to, therefore, undermining your chances to be accepted. What do you think about it? Perhaps a citing specific course within the Curriculum may not be as harmful.
Reach out to professors whose work you are interested in ahead of time. That way you can get to know them a little bit and see if they will be around in the future. They may even speak on behalf of your application if they like you and your research ideas. Citing specific professors and courses really shows that you've done your research in terms of establishing relationships and considering how that university will help you meet your academic goals.
After watching this video, I just realized that it is not done to help people who really want to get some advices of how to do a serious SOP, if not for commercial and marketing purposes...

This is the worst website ever. They took from me 5 dollars for nothing. My personal statement is just 600 words long, and the writers offered no less than 90$.
Nope. I disliked because it's about advertising a website. From 6:50 to 9:20 it's ads. Also the intro lasts 55 sec and the conclusion just resume what she said earlier. Overall the main information lasted for 5 min and 55 sec, which is 355/612°100 = 58% of the video... not so great honestly.

5Mr.Cartoon I'm an Indian too! You can go for public or state universities. The fee is less but do make a note about the course you want to study, the classes, etc. Also, try to have a competitive SAT score so you'll be eligible for scholarships too. :)

I see a lot of videos and understand the process of writing a statement but... my question is: when you chose several universities with different courses, how do you write your statement? The tip of putting a certain course is useful to show interest towards one particular uni but then won't the others get offended? I don't know why some info seems contradicting to me, or maybe it's because I chose courses that vary slightly in its subject.... But I honestly don't know what to do. Would really appreciate if someone could help me. Thank you!

Is a University of Cambridge MPhil in Engineering a good choice if a want to get a PhD in Biomedical Eng.? Any word on their financial aid? From what I read, unless you get a full fellowship, your parents are going to have to finance the majority of the degree.
