Putting alt-rock, death-and Metalcore, Grindcore and pop punk in the same playlist is a Spotify move for sure
Itunes put BTS as in the kpop group in metalcore anthems once will never forget that
Also doom, stoner, psy, blues.. But whatever, they could make one of these for every genre... (and probably still fail at it)
Don't glance over GAUPA like Nik did btw, even if that song in this playlist is not their best (imo) and I wouldn't consider them "new blood", its a great fucking band. Its got stoner/doom/psychedelic rock vibes. Many people recognize it as "if Bjork was in a rock band" type of deal.
and i love that, more music is more fun
Better than an all metalcore playlist tho.
Spotify really trying to start a war with everybody and nothings more metal then a bloodbath of a musical war.
As a member of We're Wolves....I plead the fifth on that Sum-41 cover 🤣 Our new single Titanium is getting some playlist placement, and is 1000000000x better imo, just isn't on that playlist 😅I appreciate the shout nonetheless! ❤
What he said 😎🙃
You guys absolutely fucking rock, I really hope you blow up soon cause GOD DAMN
Personally, I fucking rate your cover of 'Bodies' by drowning pool. GREAT song. keep it up!
"Scene queen has been scene-ing for a while now" 💀💀
and she needs to stop. literally some of the most annoying music lately
@@marth922 facts tbh
I like 2 of her songs and i think its cool to try to make metal more appealing for women and make songs about women issiues or what ever but its so hard to not cringe at her music videos and online apperence.
@@rasukaru1594 thats reasonable
@@marth922 so true. Barbie and ken was good and all but the meme is dead now.
Thanks for the shout Nik! Had a few folks reach out and say they heard about us from this video.
While we're not an old school hardcore band, we started releasing music in 2014 and touring in 2017, with that song being about 2 months old (brand spankin new). Lots more where that came from!
P.S. We sent you an email a while back - is there a new address we should try to use?
love you boys
The river is awesome. Can't stop listening to it. You guys remind me (a little bit) of Switched. Not sure if anyone remembers them. Love your stuff.
Cool to see As Everything Unfolds on here. They've been killing it for a while now. Their last album was absolutely killer. Highly recommend anyone check their stuff out. Couple personal faves of mine are On the Inside, Blossom, Wallow, and Stay.
Edit: Forgot to mention, they got a new album coming out soon and I’m pretty fucking excited for it lol
On the inside is a banger tbf
As Everything Unfolds are one of my all time fav bands. Their last album Within Each Lies The Other is a literal masterpiece! And I feel like their next one will be too.
@@AsEverythingUnfolds you don't have any idea of this band, poser. Hiding from myself is way better.
@@jonissues1914 I agree lol
Stranger in the mirror was absolutely dope. They're awesome
Nik: "What was this recorded in a Nissan Altima?"
Chat Pile: "Yes"
Nik: "IT'S GREAT"
Glad you liked the 'RooOOOOoooOOmmmm'
great seeing As Everything Unfolds get a mention, you gotta check them out more! the new record is shaping up to be fantastic and their debut was incredible too
Seconded, They're great! Saw them at the Black Heart Camden a while back
If you like As Everything Unfolds, you should definitely check out Future Palace (if you haven't already). Their 2022 album "Run" is amazing.
As Everything Unfolds is a super fun band. Kind of surprised Nik didn't seem to know LS Dunes or Zulu
Zulu have been getting a lot of press and hype (and rightly so)... but mainly if you follow hardcore, IMO.
Happy to see As Everything Unfolds here! I've been following them since 2018 and they make banger after banger. They're literally one of my all time fav bands! I massively recommend their last album Within Each Lies The Other, it's just so good. They're also releasing a new album in April and I'm 100% sure it's gonna be a banger as well bc so far all of the singles were amazing.
Anyways, Jon Cass.
I actually love Chat Pile 💀 That album is insane man rambling at its peak. Great for blistering summer days
10/10 album
11/10
10/10 album
Have you ever had ringworm? Scabies?
I got so sad when he just immediately dismissed it😢
Even this many years later, Frank Iero cannot escape the mispronounciation of his last name.
I mispronounced it too when I was a baby Killjoy
As Everything Unfolds are amazing. Please do a feature on just them, a few seconds doesn't do them justice.
I loved Saosin with Anthony and Circa Survive, also everything what Frank Iero does but I never heard of L.S Dunes and probably I would never hear them so big thanks Nik for introducing them to me
Also Leathermouth were awesome
Nik, you should check out "evolve" by "the warning", they're a power trio of 3 Mexican sisters, but they're pretty heavy and have very nice songs
Elwood Stray-Uncertain Me is a straight banger. You had a guest on one of the Fridays mention them before
Seeing you reacting to Elwood Stray ft. Narrator fulfilled my life. Both among my fav metalcore bands. Both highly underrated.
metalcore from germany...
I remember discovering Bloodywood some years ago when they were still pretty underground - good summer music.
Elwood stray 🔥🔥🔥
Listen to “trespass” or “spark”
👌🏻
Elwood Stray are sick! Definitely worth more attention. And also VCTMS, their song with Darius Tehrani is unreal 😍😍
Both are solid
They've got two with him and they're both bangers
Wow super surprised you haven’t covered VCTMS yet. Cool originals and great slipknot covers
Stoned Statues are actually pretty great if you don't mind that sort of unique singing voice of the vocalist lady. They released their first album last year and I liked it a lot.
TORILLE!
Came here to say this... Stoned Statues is fantastic! Nik needs to dive further into them.
I like this Nick guy
I like your Gibby face.
dude, saw VCTMS with Cane Hill and Moodring in New Orleans last may. Those guys put on an absolutely brutal show. definitely recommend.
I FUCKING TOLD YOU! Elwood Stray are gonna be MASSIVE. you need to do a video on some of their songs, I recommend the track 'negative', but literally all their songs are bangers.
Good to see VCTMS getting some love! Those dudes are gonna be huge
I saw Elwood Stray live a few month ago and they were an absolut blast to watch perform
Hey Nik, long time viewer of your youtube. Was wondering if you've heard of a "fantasy-core" band by the name of The Wise Man's Fear? One of my top 5 and their new album Atlas Ruinica would be great content imo. Love you btw
Great to see ten56., VCTMS and Guilt Trip on here!
Check out Ankor - Prisoner. Catchiest chorus of 2023 so far and pretty heavy in the verses
Elwood is def a good band, recently discovered them.
litteraly been listening to this playlist on repeat, its got some good bands that are growing on me
I did not expect Czech hardbass in this video, but glad you enjoy No Face No Case.
You should listen to Wild Rage, they brought the classis metalcore back with catchy riffs 5-7-8 if you know that I mean (song against everything)
Chat Pile is from my city, some of my friends know them. They're definitely not core, more in the noise rock/sludge metal category. That song Why? that's on the playlist got some traction and Anthony Fantano loved their record from last year. They're not really my cup of tea but lyrically that song is an interesting commentary on homelessness I guess lol. Also a chat pile is a pile of leftover debris from metal mining that develops air pockets so if you climb on it you might fall in and die, so there's your fun fact for this Monday evening
Cool to see Escuela Grind in there. Love them.
Dude I'm so happy you checked out VCTMS. They're absolutely nuts. Vol. 4 is chock full of bangers
"I'm sure they're great people" had me dead. That was the nicest roast in history
chat pile is awesome, seeing them at the Stanley Hotel next month
Guess I'm looking up thoughtcrimes and a few other bands from this. Thanks Nik and/or Spotify.
Good to see Guilt trip on there, they're so good! Check out Pupil Slicer if you've not already. Lot of UK bands on there though which I'm happy about haha
I recently got into Witch Fever and it’s like how tf do they combine Doom and Punk which seem like such opposites but actually make it work and make it dope 🤔 mad props to them for making “doom punk” a thing
I saw Until I Wake and ENMY both bands are really sick Im a fan of them. One band that I didnt see that is new and is so fire with their latest single is Bury the Darkness ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
Spiritworld are one of the best going right now. ULCER is a huge track of the album DEATHWESTERN, no skips… pure class
Lots of hardcore in this one! Dope! I’ve been listing to Zulu on repeat for weeks now.
Free Falling is Good One by Elwood Stray Features Drew York From Stray From The Path
You should react to as everything unfolds, they're one of my favorite bands of all time
Vctms, No Face No Case, Escuela Grind, and Boundaries the best on that list forsure! Check out more from them!
For what it is, I found out about As Everything Unfolds from this video and now I'm happy I found a new band 😁
The narrator and elwood stray are local Bands of Mine , really great live sadly underrated
Bloodywood and Chat Pile for me.
Bloodywood cause I love the mixture of metal with anything traditional or folkish but also numetal was my introduction to metal... and Chat Pile cause it gives me early Swans & Godflesh vibes.
The rest I either did not hear (I click on every metal anything album Tidal throws at me every week but they can be spotty about this stuff sadly) or I heard it and immediately forgot (as it was so forgettable or it was so bad that my mind decided to protect itself and erased the experience from my memory) or it's one of the "oh yeah, that sounds interesting" albums I added and never actually listened through cause there's only so many hours in the day). Could be either of those. :D
So yeah, Bloodywood and Chat Pile :D
The castle rat's song intro reminds me so much the intro of only love Can save me now by pretty reckless
You should check out Makhaira. Pretty new and heavy band drin Germany. Sound is going into a similar direction as Nails
Spirit World, Zulu, phobopholic, high Command and guilt trip is great haha, I'm a big thrash/crossover guy though lol
Spirit World is one of my favorite finds of the last year…if you have not heard the breakdown in “Unholy Passages,” please check it out posthaste.
We're wolves are local to me, theyre absolutely wild live! also Thin Ice by Guilt Trip goes way harder than it should
I love that as soon as you heard the time signature change into some jazzy riffs, you're like yup ex dillinger no doubt
Dude Elwood Stray is one of my favorites. They freakin slap.
On spotifya new blood, the song by castle rat is surprisingly good. Totally wrote them off by their band photo haha
Yooooo the video just dropped its still showing the ad but I'm hyped
Discovering that No Face No Case song was worth listening to all the rest. I was banging this song so hard! This video was absolutely what I needed today. I was laughing non-stop, especially at that horse neighing song 🤣
Happy to see As Everything Unfolds here. I love them so much.
Elwood Stray and As Everything Unfolds are good
unflods
@AsEverythingUnfolds did i stutter?
I really like the music, keep it up!
I actually saw VCTMS not that long ago they opened for Veil of Maya and Born of Osiris in NC
Gaupa is a great New Blood band. I’ve been checking their stuff out for a while. Not necessarily up the “-core” alley, but it’s cool stuff.
A new vid from my favourite UA-camr Dik Cockturnal. Blessed day.
Having listened to some Until I Wake songs, I was hoping to see your reaction to theirs, but it was skipped. What’s Nik think about the band?
I bump No Cure all the time in the car. They are deffo new blood #1 and that breakdown after the breakdown got me stank facing
chat pile is killing it rn i loved god's country. one of the best albums of 2022
I highly recommend the band Empty Graves. They only have a handful of songs out so far, but each one is a definite banger. Spit Shine is the only one with an actual video, unless you count their deathcore cover of Unholy. But I think BIAH and Witch Hunt are their best ones so far
Wait, how do you know "No face no case"? It's a super small local Prague band. BTW the bridge rap part you like is sung in czech :D. But you reacted to John Wolfhooker as well so I guess Spotify/UA-cam algorithms did their work. Cheers.
You should listen to some boise bands like barn, Texas ketamine, brutalism, witness chamber, mortal ashes, ingrown, become the apex, splattered throat, and serpent hour ritual.
Funny, I saw escuela grind when they were headlining a local hxc show in my city
Gotta check out Call of the Siren Nik. You can read their logo;)....good metalcore tunes.......whats not to like?
As Everything Unfolds is pretty solid. Their song "Centuries" is one of my favorites.
I was on that All New Metal Playlist for a whole month, just barely missed your video 💀
Chat Pile and Phobophilic are awesome and very talented. Maybe this is not the best way to find new and different music. You will just end up finding just the same kind of core you already listen to.
This video introduced me to We're Wolves and I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy their covers of Avenged Sevenfold's Unholy Confessions and Limp Bizkit's Break Stuff! So thank you for that.
Graysea was too heavy even for devoted metal heads like nick. Mad respect for them.💯
They were my pull from this video I instantly went to check out their discography and I'm in love
Yea immediately went to check them out. Remind me of like Jane Doe era Converge mixed with Dillinger Escape Plan. It’s sick
I think it was amazing song lol
They are a great new band and should have been listened to longer, in my opinion
Thanks so much! We appreciate you all!
4:15 Nik sounds like someone who listens to pop hearing Slipknot for the first time
check out Blaze The Trail, you're gonna like 'em
I knew 4 I've known Ithaca for years very great jams. I also recommend sorroweater
My band played a show with greysea in milwaukee and theyre fucking insane live
Phobophilic and Spiritworld were the 2 best bands on this playlist 😂 and I really loved both of their albums they released last year!
Big ups to Spiritworld shit goes hard
Fr saw Phobophilic live 200 Stab Wounds and Undeath and they kicked ass.
That SpiritWorld album went hard. I usually can’t listen to thrash for more than a couple songs but I loved that album
i'm quite happy to see you're listening to diary of mary jane but... of all bb songs until the end is the only one that does it for me
Bruh VCTMS is kinda nice. Peep the discography but III and IV are ridiculous! Lots of cool vocal features too.
Actually some legit tunes on here. Thanks Nik!
Hey Nik! Can you play the song 'venom' by the sight of impact? I like all their songs!!
Carefully // Caged by VCTMS feat. Darius Tehrani is real good, definitely check it out.
Whoa! Atleast 2 finnish bands made it to the list as well! Stoned Statues and Oceanhoarse. Pretty cool (I'm finnish if that wasn't clear already) 🤣
Oceanhoarse SLAPS
We're Finnish too 😉
Oh my god no chance for Stoned Statues? Maybe try their song called The End !!!!
If tallah isnt on this list i will be sad (before watching)
I stand corrected
I saw The Holy Ghost Tabernacle Choir in 2013 so I’m wondering if they hit a big break recently
@Nik Nocturnal - Sad you skipped passed Wargasm - Seriously good UK band, and they hit even harder live 🤘
i really recommend listening the stoned statues song till the end. if u like punk/system of a down vibes, check it out
I just learned about a Escuela grind not too long ago. When I seen them live, it’s actually a girl singer who can scream very crazy.
I’m happy for Wargasm even being on this playlist 😌
Spiritworld - Deathwestern is a really cool album. Very unique.
4:18 Love that reaction
Foreign hands is dopeeee, poison the wells vibe
