I mean, it's really hard to compare. SRB2 never had a deadline nor it was produced as a commodity, so you have something really different there. On other hand, i never liked SRB2 physics. PCs feel too heavy, their acceleration is really slow and their top speed is too high compared with the lowest one. I obviously like it more than most of fan made 3D sonic games, who have clumsy physics: SRB2 it is certainly much, much better, but my reference will always be the speed/treasure hunting characters/mechless tails for SA2 and their perfect and satisfiying controls (i'm excluding the boost gameplay here).

What beautiful Chimera is this? It's like a sequel to Mario 64 and a prequel to Paper Mario. People are so wonderfully gifted, to even conceive of such a thing much less actually make it. I get that not all of the assets are literally made from scratch, but their assembly is so thoughtful that it can't be denied. This really feels like a love letter to Mario fans in its own unique way, from the fluidity of movement and plethora of options in traversing a level, to the number of power ups and how they're animated, the music cues for alternate forms and music in general, the cleanliness of the sound effects, even the way characters switch and how their movements are varied just enough to feel fresh the entire time... I love you guys.

This actually could have a lot of potential as a game, this one is great because I noticed it takes aspects from 64 and Galaxy (never played Sunshine so I'm not sure.) But returning abilities and forms of travel are there from both modern and past, it's great. Whoever made this did an amazing job. Only complaint would be the generic locations as usual.
I honestly think the ''generic'' locations make it cooler, since they are generic FOR A 2D MARIO GAME. We've seen them time and time again, yet never fully explored them with such flexibility and freedom.
This what i like from Sonic Robo Blast 2,is not just a game is an community Wich also can make everything by doing "mods" (the game gives a lot of liberty for making mods)... And with not forced 3D models is more easier for making models.

The music used in the 1st level is from Super Mario All-Stars. The main theme is from Super Mario Bros. 3 and the others are from Super Mario Bros. The 2nd level takes music from Super Mario 3D Land as I used the main theme, underground theme, and end course theme, Super Mario 64 for the Metal Cap theme, and Super Mario 64 DS for the Balloon Mario theme. And for the 3rd level using the castle and Bowser battle music from Super Mario 3D land and Super Mario Land’s main theme

Well their supposed to be more focused in platforming instead of quick mobility like other characters focuses on so the player needs to execute moves that would give them boosts in their speed in order to catch up
yea, this mod isn’t suppost to be fast. its more power-up enducing, even in the char description it says they arent the fastest meaning they arent fast, in the mario games they arent that fast
okay i'm gonna clarify this still even after 6 months: i meant that if i could change something about the mod, would be mario and luigi's speed to go SLOWER. That is what i meant in this comment
I’ve been wondering to myself about what it would be like for a Mario & Luigi game with the movement capabilities of the 3D Mario games, at least in the overworld. Being built off of Sonic’s physics, I think the plumbers here are too fast and slippery, but otherwise this is damn near perfect.
I feel like the physics are still a bit too Sonic-like, it's certainly way too fast and has too much in the way of momentum mechanics, but other than that it looks quite great!

Their speed is like that so you can play normal levels with them, 99% of levels that are in the base game and the ones made in mods are built for Sonic's gameplay and his speed in mind.
does it really matter whether or not it "fits" what matters is that it's fun as hell using all of mario's moves in this context with this style of platforming besides, mario can go really fast in sm64
@@vacuiaeruleum4252 i played through all of the Sonic levels with Mario and many times i could still clear a huge gap with ease. I think they could very well be a little slower, their larger moveset makes up for lack of speed
it could have been cool if you also played Pipe Kingdom Act 2 (same creator that made Pipe Towers Revamped , i think) but i guess you wouldnt have known since it was on the UDLC2022 , good video after all

The camera is an issue. you can see its more for a sonic game than mario game. it needs to be overhead and more fixed in some angles of the stage.
