Accessible gaming that can be played by anyone, anywhere, even on low income with slow internet connection is without question the future of esports. Football is the most played sport in the world for a simple reason; all you need is a roundish object and you have a game. People, for the most part, like to watch games they play or already understand. Does that mean mobile will overtake PC? Maybe. The current trend in mobile is making "PC like games" that only play on high-end phones, which is counter intuitive. If Valve or Riot respond by making their games more accessible rather then moving towards more graphics and more fanfare, that could work in their advantage. But end of the day, a game that 4 billion people can play is going to be more viable as an esport then one 100 million or so can play.
In regions like South East Asia and South Asia, mobile gaming is the most played platform because most people from these regions cannot afford PC/Console gaming, a.k.a third world gaming.

Mobile eSports shouldn't be taken lightly. League of legend Wild Rift, the mobile version of LoL did their first worlds champion called Icons Championship and it's Prize Pool is 2 million. Insane
Actually, its competitor Mobile Legends: Bang Bang does a better job of nurturing the esport scene. Sure it may not have the biggest prizepool, but you can't make an esport without a passionate community supported and nurtured by the developer. It's quite sad to see Tencent and Riot just dumped a huge money on a single event and expects an immediate result, when it's not going their way they'll reduce the effort or even leave the scene immediately.
The biggest thing that makes mobiles popular especially in SEA is because of the social aspect, based on my experience people play mostyl multiplayer games so they can play with friends and have fun and plus the accessibility of it.
pc and mobile gaming audiences are clearly different pc players are majority developed nations ( NA,EU,south Korea, china) mobile gamers from developing nations ( SEA, India, South asia, Brazil, china) its nearly impossible for pc games to penetrate in this region reason are its not possible to make pc as cheap as mobile and u cant carry pc everywhere people can hangout anywhere and play games thats not possible in pc. It's pretty simple, mobile gaming is the soccer of eSports. Accessibility is a big, big deal, and not everyone in all countries can afford a good PC or a newer console. The best part of mobile gaming is that in esports scene your actual device you are holding right now CAN REPRESENT WITH YOU in some tourneys, your mobile device is your actual battle gear like a sword for a Knight or a katana for a samurai or in an epic anime-style fashion your Pokedex and Pokeball for pokemon trainer at the same time. Unlike PC/console gaming you can’t do that w/ your own device (except for your joypad for consoles) most of the time the organizers are the one who will provide the device. This is one of the reasons why most mobile players nowadays are also very selective when it comes to what devices do they want to purchase. The best part of living in mobile economy is that everything is accessible - you can do task like buying online/pay billes/monetization/etc. anytime, anywhere, gather intel on the go, social media IRT and can play anywhere you want in fact you can play or train for esports scenes on mobile while on a vacation and metaphorically/literally touch grass, and many more. Like really, its basically your personal battle gear in or outside esports scene, and to think that most people in the west are making fun of mobile gaming while we in the mobile ecosystem we are unintentionally living the hobby anime-style dream like Gundam Build Fighters and Yugioh. And speaking of Yugioh, YGO Master Duel (alongside Genshin Impact) succeeded where PC gaming has failed to utilise while mobile gaming will be soon a thing theough Google Play Games - the cross platform esports, unifying two or more different devices to be compatible together.
in my opinion it takes away the hype you feel when watching live and watching it livestream where you can see the players emotions (they slam their desk they take off their headsets and curse) what is mobile esports players gonna do when they rage? throw their phones?
Bro thinks mobile esport do not have desk and headset 💀 If you really want phone throw, some indonesian streamer do it sometimes for theatrical value to get their name out
20% of the chance that would be possible, I've already seen people destroy their PCs when they tilted while recording what they do (that's why you could also see some of them through memes), that situation on mobile is possible but very rare. The most common thing they do is basically look away from the screen and squirm, slam something most of the time their own desk or in my case put my face in a pillow and shout very loud.
Bro talking about Wildrift Esport when it is literally going to die outside of Korea and China 💀 Even if it is a sponsored video, you should have done your research. There are literally three mobile esport that are booming and have a big fanbase. 0:23 Also, he said the rest of the world, and yet shows a footage of the tournaments from West region 💀 The SEA are literally carrying the scene and didnt get featured as much. Mobile esport are now larger than a few of the fighting games scenes
My hunch in that, probably the reason is one or two of the three game you are talking about is a mere “copy” of the original game. Well you know, typical western standards they don’t want to talk or mentioned anything associated w/ “not original” and “non-western originated” brand so to speak, they just love anything uniqueness and originality that any copy, reproduction or substandard is considered reject. They will seen it as “irrelevant” as if they don’t exist at all.
I follow mobile esports in india especially pubg which is huge and I would like to say that most esports player prefer apple than android. Qualcomm is still inferior to apple chips. Moreover, having only a few models of iPhone compared to android, it is easier for game developers to optimize the game better and more smooth.
Esport is a form of competition using video games. It doesn't matter if it's on pc, console, mobile, or some old ass used-and-beaten arcade machine, as long as there is competition between a large group of players in a specified area designated for events, it can be considered esport.
Mobile Esports will never replace PC Esports, its only popular in SEA Countries Because only a few can afford PC's and those who can afford PCs can play the games that are known in the region Like Special Force, Crossfire, Dota 2 and Valorant Valorant is literally the CS GO of SEA because it's easily accessable and Free to Download
Perhaps. It will not gonna replace PC, sure, but it will not become irrelevant or obsolete either at least not in this decade. The best thing that we should do is accept the truth that it exist,😢orespect its existence and don't act like it doesn't deserve to be called eSports or deny its existed.
Mobiles games are good to let time pass if you forgot your switch/steamdeck/ayaneo atc at home. Mobile games can have their esports scene it's just that it will never ever take over pc or console gaming
I don't know about never. Mobile Games have already outperformed many PC esports in terms of viewership. In time, I believe it won't kill PC esports but might be more popular (accessibility).
@@castler7272 if they can produce a phone that performs like a steamdeck, maybe we can go back to this discussion. mobile games can be popular but for sure it will not be more popular than PC esports

Why is NO ONE mentioning the main reason everyone looks down on mobile games? The BIGGEST REASON is the fact that most mobile games are pay-to-win microtransaction FILLED GARBAGE. How is this even a conversation??? Literally everyone hates mobile games for that, I can't think of a single mobile game out right now in the US that ISN'T filled to the brim with the stuff its SICKENNING

Clearly you haven't played much of mobile games; Or know much about the scene. Most of the stuff people buy are skins; Genshin, Diablo, Raid those are the games that just opens up and wants you to spend on them Brawl Stars, Mobile Legends, Wildrift, PUBG etc. Are not pay to win at all. In Asia mobile Esports have become bigger than even League of Legends; It's because phones are much more accessible, specially in developing countries (Buying high end PCs is just too expensive; And having a good PC or console is a luxury).

Naah man it's a bad experience the only reason majority of mobile gamers are playing on a mobile is because they don't have access to better platform I am a cs player I have played a sh*t ton mobile games and been in the top be it coc, pubgm or codm
Mobile gaming is more like console gaming, cheap and accessable. To maintain a large audience, games oftend tend to a more "casual" approach, alot of ingame assisstance allows a complete noob to keep up with the rest. Problem is, many mobile esports don't trun off assissts, even if they are stupidly op (looking at you critical ops). Not only the game looks whacky and weird but also feels unnatural. Looking back at PUBG, I personally enjoy watching pro play sometimes and I have a pretty good understading of what is going on in the screen. Everything is easy to understand, unlike pubg mobile. Looking at the "highlevel" plays, my head just spinns trying to understand how they hit shots if the crosshair is not really on the enemy, and the enemy just dies of cringe at random points. The goofy mechanics can probably be improved on, but all these assissts will definetely stay. Aim assisst is the main reason why CoD esports are boring. Its mainly console, and all controllers have aimassist and with the recent cod games it's basically an aimbot, I mean look at warzone! I don't see a really skill expressive future in mobile esports, yes it may grow very large but yet too casual to be actually entertaining.
As much as this video is a presentation of Qualcomm and their push in mobile esports, they aren't the "good guys" here. What it lacks on the Android front is competition. Apple's newer chips always have beaten the newest Qualcomm chips in terms of GPU performance. But if you use Android, most other SOCs won't give you as much frames as Snapdragon does. Samsung has partnered with AMD to try to bring their IP into their Exynos chips, but we have yet to see something from them that actually competes. The good thing that does come from all this is the handheld consoles like the Switch also use modified SOCs that were meant for phones. So better GPUs on mobile devices can translate into better Handhelds as well.
The rise of Mediatek in chip making is in the horizon though. Back in the day when they say its Mediatek that mean the heat management of the device was not as good as SD, hence it’s SD was unrivaled that time. But now as long as Mediatek chip label is under Dimensity series the performance can catchup w/ SD esp. on the prevuous years when SD have failed on two chips (888 & 8gen1)
Here in the Philippines mobile gaming has replaced the days of kids trash-talking in internet cafes on a LAN match in CS 1.6 or DOTA, missed those days. Now kids are paying skins for these games that irks me since this is what the future of gaming will be more microtransactions, and it is just sad to watch.
Do you think DOTA2 will be alive until today w/o their Battle Pass? How about LoL without selling their skins, do you think their game will still be free without selling any of those? That's their no.1 source of income outside of eSport scenes and they're a form of microtransaction whether you like it or you like it. Blaming this in mobile gaming especially the one w/ more eSport exposure for this kind of action is a hypocrisy and when you realise it a more premium games in PC and even in consoles also do this (some of them are also consider a gacha like lootbox in csgo).
Why are so many people hating on the fact that mobile gaming esports is being covered here. No matter the console, esports is esports. There are a few mobile games there that take skill and are not just "pay to win". Sounds to me there's a superiority complex happening here

The correct word is "developing world gaming" because if you'll going to include mainland China into mix through HOK that current number will go skyrocket.
Mobile gaming has definitely come a long way. I remember the days when mobile gaming was perceived as stuff you simply swipe through to pass time, but now we have official mobile versions of games like PUBG and CoD and even inspired original games like Critical Ops being a mobile option for CSGO players.

Actually, its competitor Mobile Legends: Bang Bang does a better job of nurturing the esport scene. Sure it may not have the biggest prizepool, but you can't make an esport without a passionate community supported and nurtured by the developer.

So its tough for pc now may be in nxt 30 years they can

It's pretty simple, mobile gaming is the soccer of eSports. Accessibility is a big, big deal, and not everyone in all countries can afford a good PC or a newer console. A lot of the true talent lost the genetic lottery, and thus wouldn't get found if not for mobile games being a thing.
Not my scene, but I love that it exists. I'm all in favor of whatever we need for true talent to rise to the top.

well actually its a commercial , no mention of pubg mobile nor cod or free fire , and the new release of warzone mobile , and no they did not improve graphics , the amount of competitive games on mobile its not much and they dont need more powerfull devices. f### you all for making me think we actually got a good video about this thing a care about
The best part of mobile gaming is that in esports scene your actual device you are holding right now CAN REPRESENT WITH YOU in some tourneys, your mobile device is your actual battle gear like a sword for a Knight or a katana for a samurai or in an epic anime-style fashion your Pokedex and Pokeball for pokemon trainer at the same time.
Bro thinks mobile esport do not have desk and headset 💀
If you really want phone throw, some indonesian streamer do it sometimes for theatrical value to get their name out
20% of the chance that would be possible, I've already seen people destroy their PCs when they tilted while recording what they do (that's why you could also see some of them through memes), that situation on mobile is possible but very rare. The most common thing they do is basically look away from the screen and squirm, slam something most of the time their own desk or in my case put my face in a pillow and shout very loud.
Bro talking about Wildrift Esport when it is literally going to die outside of Korea and China 💀
Even if it is a sponsored video, you should have done your research.
What is terrible about the mobiles is mostly the monetization
Most of the games they they covered aren’t p2w, at least supercell games
I follow mobile esports in india especially pubg which is huge and I would like to say that most esports player prefer apple than android. Qualcomm is still inferior to apple chips. Moreover, having only a few models of iPhone compared to android, it is easier for game developers to optimize the game better and more smooth.

Esport is a form of competition using video games. It doesn't matter if it's on pc, console, mobile, or some old ass used-and-beaten arcade machine, as long as there is competition between a large group of players in a specified area designated for events, it can be considered esport.

Mobile Esports will never replace PC Esports, its only popular in SEA Countries
Because only a few can afford PC's and those who can afford PCs can play the games that are known in the region
Like Special Force, Crossfire, Dota 2 and Valorant
Valorant is literally the CS GO of SEA because it's easily accessable and Free to Download

Yeah it truly suck on mobiles prob is micro transaction being a bit to much on mobile games, like for example Mlbb its a game thats popular in SEA fun game mostly with friends but bro there micro transaction is scandalous but people still play it cause it rewards f2p good stuff and still about skills mostly than paying to be good
Clearly you haven't played much of mobile games; Or know much about the scene.
Most of the stuff people buy are skins; Genshin, Diablo, Raid those are the games that just opens up and wants you to spend on them
Brawl Stars, Mobile Legends, Wildrift, PUBG etc. Are not pay to win at all.
In Asia mobile Esports have become bigger than even League of Legends; It's because phones are much more accessible, specially in developing countries (Buying high end PCs is just too expensive; And having a good PC or console is a luxury).

Naah man it's a bad experience the only reason majority of mobile gamers are playing on a mobile is because they don't have access to better platform
I am a cs player I have played a sh*t ton mobile games and been in the top be it coc, pubgm or codm
They are just a few mobile games that are been actively played by gamers but the quality of gaming hardly compare to a PC or console.
Somewhere in the world a Blizzard dev is watching this video
I dunno why bot for me playing FPS/TPS on phone just feels off

Who was the caster of wild rift match man 😂
I don’t mind mobile games in theory . But I hate the small screens and all the buttons that take up literally 50% of the screen .
