    Hi Luke,
    Will you guys at Colab start working more with Flax cloth in your models? I really liked that part in the Stab episodes. And would be great to have some of your models in flax to make them last even longer (because they are great). Dave has a really nice podcast on flax in the ‘water people podcast’ with Gary McNeill.

    I'd bet we have some similar waves here in the PNW to you guys in the UK... oftentimes channels are associated with bad performance in some chop. was that ever your experience?

      @@henrysmithers888 not bad performance just less smooth transitions on slower waves. I've nothing against channels. Just channels for channels sake. You aren't always better off with them.

    Loving these vids of late, especially the dude asking Luke good questions. Lovely looking board! Keep up the great work! Can this be made as a twinzer fin? Also, I think it would be a high selling board if there were a mini FM. Not sure you guys are allowed to make a custom one?

    Thanks Luke that was really interesting. Couple of questions: 1) What are your thoughts on fins? I watched the Stab series and Rasta actually initially ditched this board, then tried it with some new fins he’s developed (not sure which ones, but something to do with the inclination of foiling on them?) and it completely changed the feel for him… Obviously Rasta is Rasta, so maybe not a problem for an average surfer. And 2) How do you think this compares to the Album Twinsman? Thanks!

    • @colabsurf
      @colabsurf  7 днів тому +1

      I don't say this lightly. Fins change everything. It's so important to have a good array of fins. I can totally see how surfers using different weight distribution and taking different lines would feel better with different fins. It's not just about weight of the rider it's more in depth with the transfer of the weight and torque you create to generate lift. Rasta twins are epic. I love the fcs range too. I use britmerricks, and power twins, and I'm looking forward to trying the pangs... Don't be scared to try different fins. The best turn I ever did was with two power twins in the side and a large performer in the back. Totally blew my mind. Not the best for other areas but just trying totally different set ups can really help to open your mind to the possibilities. Arguably fins are the most important part of a boards functionality..... The twinsman is a lot more loose. More classicly a fish. Doesn't have the lift either. Great board though probably easier to use for most surfers in the UK too.. funnily enough I made an extended twinsman as a custom once and felt like it made a great all rounder for UK average days 🤙🤙

    • @colabsurf
      @colabsurf  7 днів тому +1

      @terenceingram7786 nah I think it's a comfort thing. Some surfers use there all rounder head height, some go bigger. Some even go smaller. As far as p ship is concerned, you go the size you feel comfortable riding. There is nothing wrong with having a longer rail line on this board. I'm 5'10 and I'm going to have the 6'0. But I have been toying with the idea of the 6'1 too. It's still not a big board....

    What I see when I look at the curved channel front to back in the two panels creating a Venturi. Check out Bernoulli’s principle to get a better understanding of what I’m referring to. If it’s working as explained by Bernoulli, the speed and squirt is a predictable outcome.

    What a bullshit talk abut the gimmick channels. Bernouli effect on a surfboard botom, really? Using some scientific reference doesn´t make it real, it´s all pseudo blablabla. Like a esoterik involving quantum mechanics to theorise on their supernatural bullshit. That board works because of its quite normal outline and moderate rocker line, the step rail and weirdo channel is just gimmicks, don´t know how you as a shaper yourself fell for it. Oh yeah, Rasta endorses it, that´s called bowing to authorism, not argument or reality, hope if Rasta aked you for headservice, you don´t do it, but i´m not sure.
