I would have never thought of using points from a gas engine, this if very good. Have one that has run for over a year and maintained battery voltage, this video makes me want to build another one. Thanks very much.

Hi Glad you liked the idea, I am experimenting with this model regarding the Back EMF and using it. My latest video shows what results I am getting. Dont forget to subscribe so you are sent all my latest info and video`s. All the best on your future builds,

I really like that commutator setup. Very simple but very effective. I may emulate it :)

Thanks for your comments . This commutator is very reliable and keeps working for hours and days at a time unlike many commutators using a copper wire on the shaft ect . I hope you have the same results with this idea too. regards Deryck

Great build! however there are specific aspect of the motor that is a must for it to function COP>1, iT IS ESSENTIALLY A HIGH-VOLTAGE ,LOW CURRENT MOTOR, and has to be a battery bank of low -voltage in series connected to get the desired 400V to 700V.

what you have now is something more valuable and dependent than solar panels an inverter and a battery bank.

you can try making a second identical coil position in so the magnet is in the middle of the two , if that don't work you are using to much energy to drive the shaft , decrease awg and increase turns , newman is supposed to be a 100% voltage driven motor meaning "ZERO" current , this can be don with high impedance coils and high voltage by putting multiple dead 9 volt batteries in series

Hi. Yes I left the coil separate so I can test it with different coils. my next move is to make a decreased awg because I have made a motor that runs for 5 days plus it only uses 15milliamps, it keeps the voltage the same but it uses every bit of amps, thats why Newman could show this. but he had no amps. but if you let it sit for a while it regenerates some amps and it will run again for a long time. the amps eventually deplete completely but the mechanical energy you get out of it is on par with over unity.
I am a beginner in electrics thats why it is a basic set up. I have seen many with resisters ,capacitors and wires and diodes all over the place but they dont seem to run very well.?

@@DeryckThompsonChasingtheDream The Bedini circuit takes advantage of the reverse fly back of the drive coil , combined with the newman motor there is virtually no way not to achieve over unity,

Myke a voltage alone cannot do anything. When that voltage moves charge you have current. You cannot get mechanical motion from voltage alone. It's not possible because of the nature of voltage and current.
Even electrostatic motors end up with current driving the mechanical motion.

@@mykedoes4099 Can't. He is dead. Anyone can go back and read the work of the founders like he did. I'd say he skipped out on the best one in C.P. Steinmetz.
Magnetism is a gyroscopic phenomenon. He is right about that. But voltage cannot do anything on it's own. There has to be some moving charge. Without moving charge you don't get the gyroscopic procession of a magnetic boundary. The Charge moves in a helical manner around the outside of a conductor. This magnetizes the conductor via dipole alignment.
The more parallel to the conductor path the helical charge path is, the more current is measured. The more perpendicular to the conductor path the more potential difference or voltage. In both cases you have moving charge manifesting the current and electrostatic properties.
      This isn't hard stuff.

put collector on vertical rotor send to cap to run the Newman

your drive coil is probably using to much power, decrease awg and increase turns , and split the coil in the middle and place your magnet in the middle of the split drive coil

    • @DeryckThompsonChasingtheDream

yes that is a typical Newman motor. not sure that my commutator will work as I get very little emf due to me using the capacitor to keep the spark down, but I will be investing this further. Its trial and error to a degree.
