You're an architect, does it hurt you to see buildings falling apart? And are they thinking of rebuilding it or will it stay like this for many years? I enjoyed this video, but I'd like your thoughts. It hurts me to see that these buildings would look so fantastic if only they're renovated.

@@fye_4155 thank you for your comment! I am very happy that you’ve liked the video. I will share more of my architectural opinion here :)
I obviously would love to see all the buildings restored and renovated. It wasn’t the case with this city for a very long time. Lucky now it’s more and more becoming a place for tourism - so money and thought are put into rebuilding and refurbishing. So I have my hopes that in a couple of years this will look very different in a good way.

@@MariiaSchu I hope it does, we've seen similar developments in the Kaliningrad region. It used to be a place with very little architecture beauty, now it looks fantastic. Especially the smaller towns like Zelenogradsk and Svetlogorsk. I really hope this city gets a glow up in the upcoming years, it truly hurts to see that some buildings just need a paint job to look new again, but no one has done it yet.

You show us some of the towns Nordic architectural roots without commenting on that the town is stolen from Finland. Or that the old town is literally falling apart. Quite provoking. Should be given back to its original owners the sooner the better. Shame on you.

Might feel the most European city because it was a Finnish city until Stalin stole it. It seems like Russians don't take good care of it (it used to be one of the wealthiest Finnish cities but now it's full of poverty, dirtines and the places are in bad shape)

Thank you for your message. There is indeed a lot of Finnish in this city. However, Finald chose the wrong side of the Nazis in World War II. And as a result, lost this city. I hope you will have the opportunity to see with your own eyes how the city is now being rebuilt, building by building.

@@MariiaSchu You forgot one important thing: How it all started:
      1. Finland had the non-aggression pact with the Soviet Union and it lived in peace (Stalin broke the deal because he allied with Germans and planned to share Europe)
      2. Stalin allied with Nazis (have you ever heard of the Molotov-Ribbentropp pact?). Germany and the Soviet Union shared Europe together and they celebrated in the middle of Poland when they met (there are a lot of pictures from the event so you can't deny it, they even shared a victory parade). That's why Stalin started the false-flag operation and attacked Finland (the Soviets admitted laterly they started the Winter War) because it was agreed with Hitler (the Molotov-Ribbentropp pact).
      3. The only reason why Stalin's and Hitler's close friendship ended was because Hitler broke the non-aggression pact which was signed with Stalin and started the Operation Barbarossa (when Stalin heard Germany is attacking, he didn't believe it at first because it was the ally)
      4. Finland had the Continuation War with the Soviets (that happened because of the Winter War)
      5. Do you remember how Hitler got his army in the first place even though he was under the Treaty of Versailles and it could not number more than 100,000 soldiers? Yes you guessed right, the Soviets helped him in a secret. The German military was determined to develop their armed forces, but it was impossible to do on German territory, under the watchful eye of the Allied Powers. A solution was soon found: Germany turned to Soviet Russia with an offer of cooperation. As the commander-in-chief of the Reichswehr, Hans von Seeckt, noted: “The Versailles diktat can only be broken through close contact with a strong Russia.”
Moscow was happy to end its blockade by establishing contacts with Germany. In addition, military cooperation with the still highly skilled German military was vital for the modernization of the Red Army.
Negotiations on military cooperation between Moscow and Berlin began before the end of the Soviet-Polish war (1919-1921). Both countries shared a strong affinity based on anti-Polish sentiments: Just like Russia, Germany too had to cede parts of its territory to Poland, as was the case during the Greater Poland uprising in 1919.
In 1925, a German aviation school was secretly established near Lipetsk (about 400 km from Moscow), fully funded by Germany. It was agreed that the school would train both German and Soviet pilots, who were borrowing experience from their Western colleagues. A German pilot’s training program in the USSR lasted about six months. They would arrive in Lipetsk secretly, under assumed names, and would wear Soviet uniforms without insignia. Before coming to Lipetsk, they would be officially dismissed from the Reichswehr, and would then be reinstated upon their return.
An agreement on setting up a German tank school in the USSR was signed in 1926, but the school only opened in late 1929. Situated near Kazan (800 km from Moscow), the Kama school was referred to in Soviet documents as ‘Technical Training Courses for the Air Force’.
The Tomka school of chemical warfare in Saratov Region (900 km from Moscow) was the most secret Reichswehr facility on Soviet territory. It consisted of four laboratories, two vivariums, a degassing chamber, a power station, a garage and living quarters. All the equipment, several aircraft and guns were secretly brought from Germany.
You were the one who chose wrong side and because of you Germany was able to build their army in a secret.

@@MariiaSchu Maybe because Soviet Union was going to occupy the whole country. Soviet Union attacked Finland at 1939 and they were going to attack again. Only help Finland was able to get was from Nazi Germany (allied help was out of reach). Never thought that if Soviet Union wouldn't have attacked Finland, Finland would have been a neutral country? No of course not because many Russians want to blame other, not themselves and their country.
