This guys info is not correct. Lakewood ranch is 30 minutes from the beach. Both locations are in Sarasota County. There is 3 hospitals near wellen park (englewood hospital, Doctors Hospital and Sarasota memorial hospital in Venice). He is correct about the price of the housing and HOA fees between the two areas.

Wellen Park to beach is 10 min. Lakewood Ranch to beach is 25 minutes if it's not busy to get to Siesta Key. Siesta key is a tourist area so if you want a lot of tourists Lakewood Ranch is what you want. Siesta key has nice fine white sand though compared to Venice but it's not as crowded. Wellen Park is not blue collar. Venice has the most educated white collars and make average income is higher. Look up the stats on google. New Costco coming to Wellen Park. Sarasota Memorial Offices coming. Renaissance is not sold out. They have move in ready homes. My question to my client is what are you looking for? Close to beach? Want busy and low key? I personally like Venice because it's close to many beaches, low key and quiet compared to Sarasota. I do like Sarasota but I just don't want to live there. It's a personal preference. If you need a realtor to talk with about Venice let me know.
