Sorry about your aids. You probably didn't get it from this video tho. Ask your mom.

I agree this was a really stupid video trying to be funny. Not one solid joke I hear on the job.....shit half the video wasn't even shit welders say but what we do... and Greg to come back with a mom joke is as funny as the humor in this video...
Why does my helmet always fall when I don't want it to but get tighter than bulls asshole in fly season when I headbang like I'm at a Slipknot concert.
Well said!
I swear my hood is sentient and a damn troll.
Mine is always loose never wants to stay up. So lately I just keep it down and learned echolocation

PLOT TWIST: welders are accualy grinders working undercover
Shitty ones are for sure lol
I always say when they ask me if I need a grinder, “I’m a welder, I’d need it if I was a grinder-er”
That's my motto, I weld like 3 yr old w crayons and a wall. It's a mess
Fun fact:Grindr was originally made for welder porn 😂

i mig weld like a broke fuck bc i cant afford gas
@@redneckmaniac3463 i just stick weld everything with an old welder from the 60s

If your weld sounds like bacon, you’re fine. If it smells like bacon, you’re on fire.
If you feel a warm spot its not piss.
Spoken Like a welder 🤣
I remember my glove caught on fire. I didn't realize for a little bit. My hand was super hot. So I stopped Welding and flipped up my helmet and saw my fingers were engulfed in flames. Lucky it was just the glove in which I quickly evacuated my hand from. No harm was done to me but that glove was ruined.

Oh God, that turtle joke caught me off guard.
Got to remember that joke to next time im on a construction site were they use helmets
I was going to skip this vid then I saw your comment.
I'm so glad now.
Hahahaha that was the shot right there 🤣🤣. Hey the only one that needs a helmet is you a skull makes the same sound. Ask me how I know hahaha.

CAUSTICCOMMANDO569 yup... been there.. done that...!!
Clint Gilbert?
Lol
Kid welded a dick with like 6013 and the teacher (high school welding) was straight up honest with in front of the whole class "this weld looks like the shit you don't have keep your day job"
EVERY welder has said or done one of these. If they haven't they will. If they won't, they're just are soldering.
Fuck, it's hot!
Damn right!
Not sure about the turtle joke, though. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yep, but I also caught the crotch of my coveralls on fire using the grinder!😂 fixed them with duct tape👍
I just started welding 2 years ago and I have said or done at least 70% of these😂
Forgot the “oh crap it’s on grind mode”

Oh my god this happens to me every god damn day
yes. my number 1 problem is shit! its on the goddamn grind mode.
You have no idea how many times I've done that.
I know it’s just my welding class but shit, I’ve done before, blinded myself twice doing that lol.
A grinder and paint will make you the welder you ain't. ♥
Grinder and paint can't even fix my welds. Tig welded today and even my welding instructor went "oh Wow..."

Or 'putty and paint'.
rip its so hard to find that perfect looseness/tightness on the helmet...but once you do.. 👌
I swear
That perfect tightness doesn't exist my guy.
30 mins later its loose as tits
Drives me crazy when the headband gets loose on it's own.
The speedglass 9100 is pretty sick for the gear. One knob tightens the gear the other adjusts the hard break when its on top. Kinda clicks in and out.
been welding for 20 years, i forget to turn the gas on or clamp the earth on multiple times a day
Does it usually happen to you that you weld your clamps to the work? It usually happens to me, and it's a little annoying.
Juan Sambucetti never had that happen lol just put it in a different spot or clamp it to the table
@@ashton6478 i clamp the two pieces together with the clamp, then weld the two pieces together with the clamp. Happened 2 or 3 times.

I usually find myself saying “dammit wrong amperage” right after I melted the plate
@@kadinthompson5039 oh Tig aluminum was a pain in my ass to get used to. Once you do it's piss easy and hella fun but it's so counterintuitive because in order to prevent you from melting the plate you need to turn the amperage up so you can finish the weld before too much heat builds up in the rest of the weldment
Had to weld a bent plate of 2 mm thick tight, and said: "185 would be enough, right?"
Ended up blasting a hole into 4 mm of steel with MIG
@@apfel_taartje475 185 amps or 185 IPM?
@@richardmillhousenixon amps I think
@@apfel_taartje475 Jesus Christ no wonder it blew through. For one, MIG is a CV (constant voltage) process, where really the only variables you control are the voltage and the IPM (wire feed speed), and even then, I don't even hit 120 amps when running 1/8" 7018 stick electrodes on a 1 inch v groove weld so it's no wonder 185 blew through a 4mm plate
ya got me with the left handed gloves, that's my whole locker at work,
shoot we even had a left-handed welder for a bit to balance things out
Zakerath that one i dont really get lol my left glove is the one that burns up, im right handed
I have thing weird thing that I go through left gloves no matter what they are made of and no matter what I'm doing (painting). I'm right handed so the guy in the video caught me off guard how he goes through right gloves when all he does is hold he stinger. Makes no sense. Also I noticed when I wear some shitty adidas trousers when working, it's my left leg that gets all the holes around he knee cap....
I guess I will make a good friend to have around the shop as I'm always looking for a left glove.
Yea as a right handed welder I often don't even wear a glove on my right hand. Lefty gets all the abuse.
@@Camwize same here
My shop has 90% left hand gloves. It gets me so mad.
I always get holes in my left glove
Hey k greens, send me your lefts and I'll send you my rights, lol.
Technically you can turn them inside out to make them right!
Most people burn their right gloves first, so they end up with a large collection of left gloves :P
Mine is all right gloves because I can't loose what I don't use lol
"I'll just fill that in a bit" is too damn relatable.
And the number one word that welders say most "Ouch !"- also my most often used terms "Not enough amps, oops too many amps" - "Ill just fill that a bit", "Ill just grind that a bit", "Ill just give that a tweak with the hammer"
I use the Oyx-Ace and Plasma cutters so my most common one is either "That's Fucking Hot!" or "Oh Shit I'm on fire!"

I just started using mig to put sheet metal in autobody work. I'll get all the way on the ground, everything on and no arc. I'm getting older and I'm overweight, so getting up off the ground to either turn on the welder or clamp the ground on is a big deal.

"Looks straight, tack it!"
2:50 love it! Hahah thats the difference between a welder and someone that has the piece of paper from school and no practical welding
i have both and honestly short of 10+ yrs experience welding with multiple processes in all positions they don't have the knowledge that i posses. As far as schooling goes if the school is only doing theory then its not worth shit. Mine you had to be able to be able to pass the ticket tests to move forward. A good trades course wont shove you through out the door with only theory, they will make sure you actually know how to do it.
Zach K hell I'm not even getting a piece of paper other than a highschool diploma and I can stick and mig pretty good now I'm getting okay at tig
if your getting good then go try your hand at your welding certifications..... Mine are recognized world wide
Werterion I'm already signed up at the TCAT school near me to go there when I get out of high school. I'm not promising I could pass certification but I'd like to think I could.
Kelley Forlines if the school dosent make sure you can pass it then it's not a good school. the school I went to made sure you were ready for it, very very critical on your test materials. always aim for your best and always aim to be better, between school those certs you will have leaps and bounds on career opertunity than others once you have a few years on job experience.

I gotta question for those more experienced welders, when you use a auto dim helmet isn't it easier to just leave it down while your Adjusting?
Tony some guys get away with it but in my experience, everyone ditches them because they dont last as long. Usually noobs use them but I have also seen 10 year vets get away with using them and love them
