Egg Sucking Leech - fly tying

- My take on a classic streamer pattern. A must have fly for just about any kind of streamer fishing for trout, steelhead and salmon. I make this fly in black, olive, brown and rusty brown colors. This one is tied with Woolly Sparkle Dub in the color Black Widow. The head is a tungsten bead. Great thing about my version is, that anyone can tie it in a few minutes. That makes it dispensably - which means you are not afraid to cast it into those tight spots, where big fish hang out. It all adds up to more fun... and more fish :0)

Hi Michael!
What is the hook size for this fly?
Thank you!
Hi Gregoire. I tie this in sizes from 4 to 10 on longshank streamer hooks. Cheers, Michael :0)
@@MichaelJensensAngling thank you! 🙂
This looks like a great leech pattern, Michael! I love the subtle highlights in the dubbing you use and the great "teardrop" profile you achieve. Is there any distributor for this Woolly Sparkle Dub in Canada/North America?
+Lawfish,
Thanks a lot for your interest. You are right: It is the subtle highlights and the translucency that makes this dubbing really useful for a variety of flies.
The Woolly Sparkle Dub is my own product, and is currently only available in my webshop. We are right now working on an english version of the shop, but you should be able to place an order already. Here is a link to the product. The text is still in Danish, but I will make the english translations in a few days.
Anyway... you are also welcome to send me a email, and I will help you get hold of some some Woolly Sparkle Dub :0)

A happy New year to you.
you can also just make a leech with a orange thread head, no need for the bead.
+SirLobsterman That is also a possibility. I feel though, that the bead gives a bit more visibility and being tungsten it adds some weight - and a jigging action.
All the best, Michael
