They give the burst more fitting. It is usually done for corset or bustier that zip is used instead of loop.

When sewing this you’ll need to use a warden( padded on the inside) it’s almost the same process for your second question. But you’ll need to have an armhole in your off shoulder bustier.

My question is this, if my client want her bustier to have a sleeve, the dart intake at the overburst burst would I add it at the chest line and also add it at the upper armhole side
Or would the one I added at the chest line cover for both the chest line ND the upper armhole ( where d client would want her sleeve to begin from)
