The link you provided for the Quick Connect Winch Cable is not working. Can you provide other contact information for your supply source?

According to John Deere the factory harness should be plug and play. So, is the solenoid install necessary? Couldn't you simply connect factory harness positive and negative cables directly to your battery? Or is this needed for the glove box remote to work?

Howdy HH - you’re jogging my memory but it’s a good question. If you did that I believe you would have two issues: Constant power to your winch, unless you had a heavy duty switch wired in (typically not how it’s done due to cost of wire) and you wouldn’t be able to reverse the polarity, meaning power the winch in/out. You’ll for sure want the solenoid, but the remote can easily be replaced with a forward/reverse switch in the dash. Hope this helps!

    Great information,
I have a 835 r the wires running to the wench are there but no plug in the glove box. Very hard to tell with the hvac lots of stuff under the hood. I'm thinking I might have to run the small wires to the switch and for the plug in the glove box. Not sure yet. You helped me with getting started and what to look for thanks !!

Would you also do a video showing how you wired the brush guard lights?

Hey Jay - I would love to but haven’t been able to find the time to finish some of the video projects I’ve started. I will say this though, I recall pulling a lot of the front hood and plastic storage basket up in order to do a clean wiring job. I also purchased the OEM switches from John Deere to replace the blanks in the dash. Getting behind the dash was the most challenging part of the job though. I recall having the most luck reaching through where the center cup holder is to get the back of the dash for the switches.

Good video. Minimal 590M info out there so this was great.
What are you using for floodlights or spotlights on the front bumper?

Hey Chris, I tried to look up the model of lights but it appears they have been discontinued. I had purchased them on Amazon. They were spots with the “side shooter” leds. I saw a similar pair I am considering as they have they have a flashing side shooter amber option which I can appreciate for additional safety for the occasions I am on the road. a.co/d/eOBIp2x

Getting ready for a similar install. In your case, is the winch always powered, even with the key off? I know you need to plug in the remote (but if you did with the vehicle off). I would like to also put a dashboard switch to make it easier for plowing but don't want it to work with the key off. Do you happen to know where the accessory wire would be on this model?

      Hey Dan,
The winch will not be powered when the key is in the off position. It is switched with the rest of the accessories that come on when the key is in the accessory/on position. As for installing a dashboard switch / the accessory wire, look up under the dash. If I remember correctly the power wire that routes to the remote connection is easily accessible there to tap into.
      Bests,
      Eric
