    Love is in the air. When it comes to a compressor, my recommendation for newbie overlanders is a high volume portable compressor. There are a couple choices in the $150 range. I can inflate 35’s from 15 to 39 in 10 min plus a couple of minutes on either side to set up and put away. About the same time as your ARB setup.

  • @darksideemt

    While I know it is a great system and works as you say (have many friends with them) it is totally not worth the cost for the slight time it saves you in my opinion. I'll take my $250 system and slightly more time and put the money saved towards other stuff needed.

  • @LadyC4000

    Had a portable compressor that took me over ten minutes to air up one tire. I recently upgraded to the kraken and arb and I love it. Ran it today just to get it set up and it aired my 35’s up from about 16-20 psi to 32 in less than five mins. Yes it isn’t cheap but you get what you pay for and having on board air is worth it to me.

    I've been eyeing this system on and off. I got the Thor's Lightning air compressor with the four hose system when I had an extra duty Titan. Got a Gladiator, and it's been working well since. The only thing I ever worry about is element exposure if I have to air up in precipitous weather. This kit may be on my long term radar.

    Justin by far you best infomercial. I'm usually annoyed by channels pushing products, but I sincerely liked this one. You did a great job on this one. You knew the product and were very informative and it's a great product. The Epic Kraken system seems to be a fantastic solution to mounting and using the twin ARB. I sold my 2020 power wagon a month or so ago. I bought my first ever jeep last week. FIrst mods have included a key hole cover, a pillar mounts, and a cargo area mat. I got a plastic bumper on my $70k jeep... so now I'm looking for a steel front bumper. Limited selections for full width, recessed winch mounted full width bumpers. I was going to put my compressor under the hood like you mentioned but now am reconsidering. Not sure I like the idea of a compressor inside the car though.

    That AEV fromt bumper is no joke for installing. I installed the EX ($$$$) with Superwinch SX10SR ($$$) on my 2015 JKU. I dread when replacing my fog lamps has to happen. I opted for the KC 6" Daylights ($$) in lieu of the AEV LEDs ($$$$).
    All this on an AEV 2.5" Sport lift with Bilstein shocks, JKS Track bars and quick disconnect sway bar links.
    For airing up I use a Rigid 18v pump from Home Depot. Just set the pressure and walk away, repeat. May have to look into a similar compressor system when I upgrade to 35's.

    Love is in the air. Justin, a question. Do you have any tried and true or good methods for finding people to adventure with? I've been having a hard time convincing my friends to risk wasting a day to go and explore new trails or make maps. I've got some dozen points in the Uinta's that over the last two years I've been DYING to explore and map, but I struggle to convince the people I know to go often enough. The waypoints are building faster than I can cross them off.
    I'm wondering if you have any advice, especially in Utah, of where to find groups to adventure with?

    I have issues with my relay switch constantly clicking as it is searching for air pressure. It was recommended by ARB to install a tank typically used for air lockers because the base system doesn’t hold enough air. Have you or any of your buddies had this issue?

    • @JustinBMcBride
      @JustinBMcBride  5 місяців тому

      With the Bluetooth module? Mine will occasionally turn off and click back on as it gets close to my desired pressure. That’s the only thing I can think of.

    • @blcolon
      @blcolon 4 місяці тому

      @@JustinBMcBride yes, once I installed the Bluetooth module the relay continually clicks unless I pressure it up. According to ARB it is looking for air pressure but the onboard tanks are small. If I pressure it up it stays quiet but eventually the system bleeds off the air pressure and starts clicking again. I checked all my wiring several times and nothing appears wrong. The instructions by Epic were spot on and great.

    • @JustinBMcBride
      @JustinBMcBride  4 місяці тому

      @@samtilton7714 IFS will always be more comfortable on road, so the Bronco wins that. Although the wheelbase of the Gladiator helps. The Bronco was MUCH louder. I hated how loud that thing was on the road.
      The Gladiator is easier to modify, and works better with the mods. The Bronco lost a lot of the qualities that made it great. I wasn’t allowed to upgrade the suspension as a Bronco ambassador, so that opinion has an asterisk.
