NSW should've eliminated the individual registrations for different regions since it's difficult to select only one region to apply considering the expensive fees, and you're not 100% sure that your application on that particular selected region will be approved.

Have you heard anything about any flexibility with expired English tests? My PTE academic expired a week before I was invited which is a bit unfair given that draws were suspended for a long time due to Covid backlog. Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

I read about a court case (Thapa vs Minister of immigration) where, the Court adopted the interpretation that the wording “time of invitation” was used rather than “date of invitation”, therefore the Skills Assessment obtained during the 60-day invitation period should be accepted. I hope that rule applies to the English test too
Same here, PTE expired on 29 Sept and Invitation came on 6 Oct. I gave the PTE again on 24 Oct, got the same score as previous, withdrew the EOI and applied again, and got the invitation again within 2 days, I would suggest to give PTE again to avoid refusal chances
QLD minimum points for 190 would be 80 points for all EOIs. Of course their backlog will be manageable.

Hi Karl, that still will not be an option for someone who lives in Queensland unless we move to NSW and reside there for at least 6 months right? But probably 6 months later the no points and experience system will no longer be available. Thank you

And I am starting to lose hope now. My partner and I are offshore applicants and have lodged an ROI for Victoria for the Marketing Specialist and Advertising specialist at 85 & 75 points, respectively. We have also lodged EOI in SA with similar points. Both of us are 44 years. Could you tell me which state and which occupation, according to you, should we receive the ITA?

Hi, can anyone help me with my concern regarding applying EOI by stating never married to get more points although I will be getting married in few weeks. So, do I need to update my EOI stating thatI'm married but risking 5 points in return? Or should I say I'm never married and my partner will have to apply another visa later on?

Hi Karl - My ACS expired recently in September 2022. Considering these were on hold and I was moving to a new location, I did not renew is soon enough. Received the 189 invite on 8th December. Although I have applied for brand new ACS but due to holidays might not receive it in time. Should I apply and pay fees or wait for 190 or do another EOI soon and wait for next round?

Hi Sir, I got concern regarding ROI visa subclass 190 for VIC. I noticed there is a discrepancy between the info give in their website about Whether you have to withdraw your existing ROI in the event you partners points score has change whereas another information stated that you dont need to withdraw your existing ROI should you have an updates in your Skillselect EOI. Partners points also part of EOI. So theres a confusion whether you are need to withdraw your existing ROI or not, thanks in advance

I'm a mechanical engineer with 80 points (onshore, 12 yrs exp and partner with positive skilled assessment) but no invitation, I don't understand how these invitations are given.
80 is not enough for this round, try to go up to 85 at least, and wait for the next round. There are some of the 85 points of mechanical engieers got invited.
also, mechanical engieer is the fourth biggest 189 population behind accoutant, ICT and software engineer, there are a lot of mechanical engineers, plus the NSW 190 is completely closed for ME, so competition is fierce, try to get more points if possible, I would say 90 points can be guranteed to be invited in the future, but 85 could have some chance.

As I am already doing a job onshore from last 5 yrs, do they still need 95 points to prove that I am highly skilled?? why can't they let people like us by looking at the points breakdown instead of checking only total number??
@@RAJ-pc9kw mate, in you case I would suggest seeking for skilled nominated visa 190, especially VIC, they prefer experience over scores, I am sure you will be quickly invited under that. In terms of 189, this is a point tested system which only focus on socres of candidate over everything, but I will be positive about the future rounds of 189 as a lot of high score eois have been cleared. There will be high chance that 80-85 may get invited, let's hope for this together!

A lot of questions in point calculator page are related to Australia (like graduate from an Australia institute), but I have nothing in my CV related to this country. I could try to get 65-70 points. Hi karl. Thanks for the informative video. I am an off shore 32 year old applicant with 60 points and have applied for 491 since last year. The state will give me 15 points if selected totalling to 75 points. My code is 263111- Computer and Network Support Engineer. My partner is in critical list of telecommunications engineer too but doesn't give much points as the qualifications and ielts does not match up. What chance do I have. What's your best suggestion as my IELTS will be expiring in May 2023.
