My Rottie passed away last fall, I'm on a wait with a breeder for a another female come the spring of '23. The female Rottie is, IMO, the most loyal dog there ever was. She was loving and protective and towards the end when she developed bone cancer she was still an absolute sweetheart. We thought she had injured her ACL or similar and the vet came back with an x-ray of a super aggressive osteosarcoma. She said that my poor Hanna must've been in an incredible amount of pain that she had been hiding yet she was still a sweetheart to everyone. If you're an experienced dog owner and can handle a dog with a strong personality then you'll not go wrong if you pick a Rottweiler.

@@markbellew4194 Thank you, it's unfortunate but we all know that we bring these dogs into our lives and in 8-10 years we get our hearts ripped out. It's been long enough, I'm ready to do it all over again.

Rotties are my absolutely favourite dogs. I grew up with them, raised them, trained them, lived with them literally since I was born. Sadly they have really bad rep in Poland (called by media "childer eaters") and because of that there are extremely rare now here.

It’s a sad thing the Rottweiler has gotten this reputation put on them.
Bad owners and sensation seeking media pushed it on them. Our Rottweilers are raised in the house with kids and I can’t imagine kinder dogs towards kids and people in general.
They’re such kalm, confident, loyal and friendly dogs. And when push comes to shove they’ll have your back and protect your family like nothing else.

They are big sweethearts when properly trained. I don’t understand why they are not Welkom in so many countries.

One thing that was not mentioned is that Rottweilers were used in Roman camps not just as guardian animals but also pest control. They were excellent rat catchers which can still be seen in their play. They would catch a a rat and violently shake there head to kill it. Not only will this break the neck but help the jaw close. This is a large reason why a Rottweilers bite can be so devastating.

Still surprised no one used genealogy to realize the Rottweiler is derived from the Tibetan Mastiff lol .. but seriously though
