It's a pleasure listening to Sir Mark discussing great works of music. He is able to convey much of what is significant in a clear and listenable way.

Dearest maestro, I was very moved by your talk on this work. It was the first music I heard in this world at the age of 2, as well as my first professional engagement as a horn player. I very much appreciate your work at home during this very challenging time, particularly your advocacy of bax. I love spring fire and all his symphonies, as well as your advocacy of the apostles and the kingdom. I’m sure you know that boult preferred it to even gerontius. I think you are a wonderful advocate for music and an inspirational educator. Wishing you all the best; stay healthy and safe, dennispmaurer

Anyone who is not totally familiar with Madame Butterfly should listen to this marvellous talk by Sir Mark Elder that places the opera in the historical and musical perspective of its time
