  • Imagine in sweet Trinidad I have a loved one in excruciating pain taken to a public hospital by a slow moving ambulance and they are made to sit down and wait for hours and hours until all nurses and doctors leave the premises in the early hours of the morning and NO ONE ATTENDS to them! So my loved ones have to remain in pain UNATTENDED, and wait in the dark until sunlight so they can get transport home. This is blatant discrimination and this deserves a light up! Make this one go viral! Sick of this nonsense. It is not the first time. As a father of children with special needs I have been dealing with the SH*T in the public health sector for DECADES and it is not getting any better. Trinis are being treated like they do not matter and there is a whole bucket load of discrimination going on. While there may be one or two nurses or doctors that try their best you are lucky if you get one attending to you in a blue moon. The overall system of health care in Trinidad and Tobago SUCKS to the core and whomever running that show with taxpayers money should be FIRED! Again, let this one go VIRAL! I am so pissed right now. All 'nice' videos about T&T will take a back burner from now on and every video coming out from me covering Trinidad and Tobago will be one of SHAME for those who run the show until they make an apology and amends for this GROSS inadequacy and what I view as MALPRACTICE of the highest degree!

Generally, service in Trinidad and Tobago SUCKS... but if you want to get down to the dirty like DISCRIMINATION, RACISM and MALPRACTICE then have a look at the PUBLIC Health Care system of Trinidad and Tobago. In this video, it is 3am and I am both very tired and pissed. What I say, needed to be said a long time. If you care anything about other Trinis you will LIKE, and SHARE this message! Let it go to the far reaches of cyberspace! Those that have power to make a change are the PEOPLE but if we only study simplistic things like doubles and not serious issues then Trinidad and Tobago will continue to go to the DOGS. In fact, I believe we are already there, but people are so desensitized and accustomed to mediocrity and abuse that they do not know the difference between that and what is correct. In other words, abusive service is considered normal. Did you have any experiences as is discussed in this video? Share your experiences keeping it GENERAL... no names.

Yes JB, but wew must all do that in chorus.
If you're the first to call out any ill, you should be confident of a chorus of backing from the other witnesses........ And there lies the problem, the chorus too often comes, if at all, after the event, not when it would be most effectively heard, by the person who needs to hear the refrain the most.

On January 17th my mother was taken by ambulance to the Arima hospital emergency at 10 am.
At 3 30pm she was still on a gurney in the hallway.
When I inquired about her status, I was told that she self discharged. I said impossible, she's 96 and came in unresponsive.
I found her in the hallway unattended. A doctor claimed that she called my brother and nursing home, got no one and assumed that she was self discharged. Meanwhile, she remained unattended in the hallway for hours, even though she was taken there in an unresponsive state.

That is so sad! You must have been very angry and disappointed. The big word their is "assumed" -- you cannot get more UNPROFESSIONAL than that. Imagine... you are a doctor assuming things -- that is what they study to do? There is no basic "find out" or "patient history chart" to look at?

I left Trinidad in the year 1966, i.e. 58 years ago, loved Trinidad very much, from birth to the age of 24, always wanted to return on a vacation, but several times that I considered returning on a vacation just to see what the country looks like, I hear of these negative conditions from people returning. Being a person who learn from other people's experiences, rather than have to suffer from the negatives myself, which can end up being costly, aggravating, or downright dangerous. Most of all the negativity keeps increasing, The country is now nicknamed little Baghdad, guns, murder, unsafe to wear jewelry, theft, also overrun by less fortunate undesirable foreigners. Who needs that?

Yes JB it makes sense why my brother died in a Trini hospital for something that should not have been hard to treat according to medical personnel we have spoken to. Taken to the hospital by the ambulance neglected and died. You’re right people don’t understand how devastating this is until it affects them unfortunately. Hospitals should never ever be neglected and unfortunately it’s usually the first public place to be neglected. And when the hospital is neglected then many of the employees neglect the patients. Unfortunately even here in the States my father almost died twice in a neglectful hospital because it really depends on how wealth is distributed in your city and where the hospital is located. I moved him closer to me and as I speak or type he is in a hospital at this time but a much much much better one. Because that hospital is located in a wealthy area and it so happens his residence thankfully is near there. It’s like night and day from the last hospital.

I doubt that discrimination has anything to do with it.
Perhaps its a case of no one being held accountable for the poor state of public health care.
    Is the minister at fault?
Could it be the fault of those who approve his budget?
Or could it be idemnic of a system that doesn't motivate anyone to perform?
Poor public health care and costly private care is the number one reason that families migrate.

Not sure how that helps us NOW. Health Care in Trinidad and Tobago has to work yesterday not in just in the future. In the mean times it SUCKS!

I am sorry that your family member has to go through , but what you described you could have been in England because the service there is similar

This is not about England. England does not help the pain of my loved ones. See my comments about trying to compare our experience with other countries.

    Same nonsense in the US

No, this is not the US. Listen to the video carefully... the patient was brought in by ambulance and NEVER seen.

You clowns just LOVE to claim that this shabby treatment is all over the world, especially in the USA in order to excuse and justify your own terrible and dreadful lack of services in your own country. YOU ARE WRONG! I have NEVER experienced this kind of awful service in the USA! EVERY ASPECT of public service in TnT is BROKEN and SUB-STANDARD! And just like pathetic and compliant sheep, you take whatever your government shoves down your throats! JB is so right to make light of this TERRIBLE SITUATION! 👹🤬👺

Facts. Many of them (online political keyboard pushers) rush to these kind of videos to downplay how bad it is... but as they will soon see... we are not singular. Thousands of Trinis experience this every single day!

Is all over not Trinidad &Tobago alone...America is same thing.

Sorry, but these "...it is like somewhere else comments" is enabling the malpractice going on! It is condoning it as normal and acceptable behavior. You did not watch the video! Watch it -- that does not happen in "America" and not on the same frequency.

Porky, YOU have never Experienced, but that doh say it is not the experience of very many.
Saying it is thus in the US the UK, Africa, Poland, China or Mars, is not necessarily accepting nor condoning the issue, it could be simply trying to understand the issue in its complexity. If the same thing is happening, to varying degree/extent, more or less everywhere, finding the common factor may aid the solution.

America is a big place. I’ve never had the same issues in America. Even in New York City I haven’t had issues. The American healthcare system is not perfect but I would rather get sick here than in Trinidad.
