Truer words have never been spoken! My war machine mk1 and batfleck (classic suit) cost around 700 each. Then their reissue, 2.0 happened 😂😅
Agree, you spend top dollar for that must have figure and years later you see the reissue back on the market for a lot less.🤦♂️

For me it was the threezero berserk guts and skull knight they both used to go for over a thousand so I could never justify it. I was so happy they re released them both this year and I was able to get them for retail

Outside the base, I don't see the need for much of an upgrade there
My Grails are The Dx13 like yourself, The Predalien from AVP 2, Dog Alien from Alien 3, the Grid Alien from AVP, The Wolf Predator, and the OG Harley Quinn from Suicide Squad. One day I’ll have them. As hard as it is patience is key in this hobby.

Want/Need is so real. It’s why I’m out on the Ahsoka line. Want most of those figures but don’t need and have to prioritize. Ghostbusters though, is a NEED and I’m not sure I can’t wait it out hoping for a new licenser. Might have to break the bank and hit a parlay or risk crying myself to sleep every night 😂

Great video. Down the line I think artisan Joker, Anakin and DX28 Vader will be quite sought after. Maybe also that obscure umbra trooper since its part of the usually obscure characters 1500 only edition releases but ties into all the clone and army builders out there. Another sleeper is RotJ emperor, I doubt we will get another unless they reissue for RotJ 40th, future releases will likely be clone wars, other animation series and prequel versions of the character. An episode IX version of him is probably the only sequel trilogy character I'd consider buying.
Hate to say it, but I'd also buy a Sith Eternal Palpatine - the looks is just too cool. I'll make up some head canon

So far, fortunately, the majority of things that I've wanted have been reissued, or I've discovered I'm fine without. I'm only coming to the end of year 2 of 1/6 scale collecting, and 89 Batman was on my list of wants. I never considered buying the original because I just wasn't going to spend that much on an older figure. But now I don't have to worry about it. Same with the Batmobile. I do still want the 89 Joker...but same story. I'll be ok without him, and if a 2.0 comes up, hell yeah.

I got into collecting late, really wishing Hot Toys would rerelease its earlier Alien and Predator lines. And the DX13 is a must as well.

For my favourite figures I'd get the new one but also keep the original lol, if they ever reissued something I cared about, figures are just super cool as they are sometimes and worth keeping around!

Considering that Hot Toys is doing more reissues and 2.0s and with the recent writer strikes slowing down new films. I'm hoping Hot Toys will take this opportunity to rerelease some old grails or 2.0s. I heard that there was a tease of a 2.0 for The Marty and Doc Brown BTTF figures which would be my grails.
There def is some opportunity out there!
Great upload I recently got my first hot toy kenobi Vader,I’m trying to do evolution of Hayden Anakin/Vader I got aotc po I need artisan Anakin or hopefully darkside 2.0 comes out we will never know when he’s such a iconic character my childhood!

Want vs Need is probably the best way to describe collecting right now. So many new figures that I would like to have - especially coming from the Star Wars line. I mainly collect named Mandalorians for my Star Wars collection but I really want Shin and Baylon and Revan if he gets made.
Right now though, the one I'm hotly debating back and forth is Paul from Dune. I want him sure but do I need him? Even though Dune is the best sci-fi franchise right now, I don't know if it's hit pop culture status to where I need representation. For example, I would get a John Wick figure before I would get a Paul. And having just recently caved and started a pop culture "section" of my collection with the recent Jack Sparrow announcement, I don't want to go crazy and spend money on figures just to fill out that section...

The OG Hot Toys Harley Quinn was my most recent must have bank breaker. I cheaped out and got the gold jump suit version brand new for $165 but I really wanted that OG outfit/look and it has one of the best face sculpts where as the gold jump suit version looks kinda muted/lifeless so I bit the bullet and paid the price ($475) for the OG Harely used/open box lol.

I have two grails I would like to have, the first is the hot toys Ripley from the first Alien movie, the newer one. And the second is inart Gandalf, still kicking myself hard for skipping out of that one! Though I suppose the Crown series by Asmus is on the table, that one is still a solid choice for waaay cheaper.
Rumor has it that a few extras will be for sale from Kit in a few weeks
I agree with this wholeheartedly. I was lucky enough to get the die cast iron man mk4 with Gantry for basically the retail price. It was a want....but then when the cost was good it became a need haha.
I've seriously cut back on buying figures. Lucky im in a job that can afford to do this hobby and my parnter supports me. Hell shes tempted to join me but with the cost of living id rather have the money in my account for emergency.
As for my figure I'm chasing? Well at the moment Gandalf by inart. Yes i know the batches. I have it on order and will get it eventually however the temptation to pay more to have it now is real.....

@KeCoCollects agreed! I found out mines from the last batch. Including delivery and deposit mine was somewhere around £480 I think? So not a bad price all in all

Currently Tarkin is my grail I'm hunting for. Foolishly sold it back in 2019 and I have regretted ever since, especially since I've recently tracked down(and bought) most of the ANH figures again

I've been chasing the newest Stealth Suit Captain America, I'm still disappointed at the limited release for such an awesome suit. My last grail chase was the Dx10 Terminator, a rewarding hunt.

Just getting around to watching this. I find myself consistently scouring eBay looking for things I don’t need but have yet dropped a lot on any “grail” figure as I just can’t justify spending hundreds on something we’ll likely get in the near future. I did recently find a good deal on two 501st Clones being sold loose… Only for them to be lost/destroyed in transit. Got my money back but that in and of itself was disappointing.
