The best possible discussion on the Pakistan Army and its character. This is Part II, watch the first part and start your journey in understanding our neighboring country better. I have not met any other officer like Capt Alok Bansal of the Indian navy, who understands the polity and the armed forces of Pakistan. This should ignite a spark in your mind for more reading and following Pakistan closely. One thing is clear those who shout and accuse Pakistan every day in fact is helping Pakatan army!!
Take it from a senior Pakistani. Cap. Banasal’s knowledge of Pakistan is solid. The best I have ever heard from anybody. Also, his analytical conclusion is very true that hatred of India is one of the critical factor that’s keeping Pakistan intact. And any hasty hostility of India against Pakistan injects more life to Pakistan. Alok sahib you are truly a scholar.
Very good discussion ,with a good advice to aspirants for entry to higher level of army and civil services, ”If you don’t analyze your failure, you will not succeed in life.”
11:50 pak army is different from indian army 14:10 major turning point was political: congress a mass based party, and muslim league a elite kinda party That's why no land reforms in pak 16:50 both armies had similar representation, after independence representation of IA changed, sainik schools were introduced, whereas in Pak, no political support at the ground level, bureaucracy being bureaucracy, politicians co opted army, first coup 19:00 people like army in the first coup 19:31 being in autocratic rule, Pak grew but not for long 20:30 Pak formation was based on religion, slow islamisation, military used to get power 21:32 '65 war was the defining moment, changed the course of both, India grew with strength, whereas Pak withered (declined) 22:09 65 war brought India together, but defence of East Pak lies in the west 23:10 both countries felt won 65 war 23:40 poor condition of India in '65, famine/drought 24:45 Soviet mediated and asked us to maintain status quo ante, reaction on both sides were hostile but in India it got muted due to Shastri's death 27:08 Ayub khan handed over to Gen Yahya Khan instead of civilians 27:40 he conducted elections but didn't anticipate the results and the '71 war and formation of Bangladesh 29:50 radicalisation increased, under Bhutto than Zia 33:20 Zia couldn't control properly, took help of radicalisation, steps for radicalise even in military 36:14 why navy, AF more radicalised 41:00 attempts of deradicalisation, role of Musharraf 44:19 Role of Qayani 45:29 Role of Bajwa 48:45 promotion after Col in army, checking of background 50:50 sucessful de-radic after peshawar attack but backing Taliban is like pairo par kulhadi maarna 52:18 questions on current politics
Seems like a very rational discussion, I will surely view this completely, I am sort of Pakistan version of Capt Bansal as I too have great obsession on India and from my childhood have a craze Indian newspapers, my uncle's were in Middle East they use to bring Indian papers be it Illustrated weekly,Times of India along with Stardust and others. One more thing Bansal sahib should have gone thru Urdu papers because that is where lies the true Pakistan.
जय हिन्द सर 🙏 Sir i ask you both about what we can achieve goal of The Akhand Bharat?? If we achieve this goal of Akhand Bharat but how to??? And last question is about the time require to reunion of Bharat??
Hello maj gen You belong to the top line , which works as an intermediate between India's political decisions and India's deffence Would like to hear your OPINION on the C grade politicians of the country in which we all live, who allow domestic and communal violence to happen with the police control they have. AND then sometimes army need to intervene like OP blue star
Thankyou Sir, again for this Interactive Lecture Series with Capt. Alok Bansal Sir on Pakistan. Though it is quite early for me to make this comment, as I have not watched the first part of Capt. Bansal Sir's Interaction on Pakistan, which I will watch after watching this part. While Captain Bansal Sir spoke on the time of Partition, where non -Muslim Personnel and Officers of the British Indian Army shifting to India, but several of the Hindu officers remained with Pakistan Army till then, one among them included Maj. Gen. Chitta Ranjan Dutta, who fought in the Liberation War of Bangladesh, and played a major role in the Nation Building at the Post-Liberation War era at Bangladesh. Also with pertaining to the last part of the interaction on the possiblity of having Track 2 and Track 6 Diplomacy with retired Military Officers and Personnel fo both nations, whereby at the recent times, I think you remember Brig. ML Khetrapal, the father of (Posth.) PVC 2nd Lt. Arun Khetrapal's father visitng Pakistan where he had a stay, informal and personal interaction with Brigadier Khawaja Mohammad Naser, who was also a veteran of the 1971 War and inadvertantly destroyed the tank led by 2nd Lt. Khetrapal. But, Sir I would really support and encourage your effort and would like to hear Captain Bansal Sir speaking on another 3 Part of this discussion. 🙂😇
Thank you very much for this note, especially about Maj Gen Dutta, I had no idea. We are soon going to bring Part III also, I have had good experiences with Pakistani officers on two occasions, in a UN mission and at Staff College in Dhaka, Bangladesh. I still feel we need to engage them at different levels including Army-to-Army talks, no harm in both sides' army people talking to each other. Whatever it takes to make lasting peace happen in South Asia must be a priority for us. Jai Hind
Yes Sir, absolutely I agree with you. There always remains a road to put down our weapons and have a talk, where I feel that serving or ex-servicemen or Diplomats, whether serving or retired have a role to play, and increasing people-to-people contact. Also, I forgot to mention, another fact about Maj. Gen. CR Dutta, while serving in the Pakistan Army, was also a veteran of the 1965 War, but for religious reasons, his active frontline involvement in the war was restricted. So, I will be eagerly waiting to see the Part III of the Podcast. Jai Hind !....

In the first 10 years of Pakistan Buerocracy was more stronger than Millitary in Pakistan. Even the first Marshal law is considered as Marashal law imposed by Buerocratic personals. From 1953 millitary start becoming more influential.
Thanks. May i add ; role of Pak third Governor General , Malik Ghulam Mohd was also very bad when around 1954 he dissolved the Constituent Assembly itself
One more reason of radicalisation of Pakistani Army is that they allowed(in Zia Ul Haque tenure) madarsa educated youth to be enrolled in Army at sepoy level. These madarsa educated jawans were also allowed to participate in Tablighi and other activities.
Surprisingly it is the Pak Airforce and Navy that are more radicalised than the army. It is not always the madrasa educated who are radical, many times well educated are more sinister in tuning radical;
Not really . That is a very idealistic statement . Educated people too can be radicals . And economic development and jobs are more important in a poor country than Education .
Animus against India. Point. However, this is beyond India, beyond India’s act of rapprochement. Animus shall stay despite. Actually, the animus has driven them to a financial disaster. Actually, the animus against India shall drive them further deeper in the pit. Great insights.
I'm pakistani and today our army completely lost their credibility in pakistan the way they badly exposed by Ex Pm imran Khan since they removed their government in April 2021

Only one thing to say..... Education is the only weapon to overcome typical society in Pakistan
Not really . That is a very idealistic statement .
Educated people too can be radicals .
And economic development and jobs are more important in a poor country than Education .

I'm pakistani and agreed to this point that Pakistan should now divide into small states. That will bring betterment to the whole south Asia.
Same problem of Pakistan we are reluctant to discuss our failiures
Genral sab your discussion is wonderful.
But it is too lengthy,
Neither i can't ignore your videos nor listen bcz it too lengthy videos
Watch it in installments 😊
The common Pakistani Punjabi public is no less fanatical than their Army - probably even worse in terms of being rabidly anti-India and anti-Hindu.
Informative but many points got repeated and were covered in earlier video.

This is major issue, we never discuss our failures and are very sensitive to image and reputation.
You got India they got Pakistan get over it stop obsessing about each other.
It's not obsessions but a critical analysis of another nation that is always at logger heads with India. Need to study and learn.
As far i think elections will happens or not they have to do himself.
