The 2026 FIA Formula one car has been shown! One of the bigger changes is the new DRS/MOM system! MOM stands for Manuel Override Mode and is the successor of DRS (drag reduction system). This system is created to make overtaking even easier!
The Drag Reduction System - which has been a feature of grand prix racing since 2011 - will be no more from the end of next season. Instead it will be replaced by F1’s new ‘Manual Override Mode’. But what is it? And how does it work? I will showcase it to you in this video!

Hopefully the teams find a way to get back the lost downforce
It has a sacrified downforce architecture.
Less aero for less dirty air, seems we’ll probably be going back to early-mid 2000s or 2016 speeds if this video is any indication which isnt too bad
@@srthebox4946 the problem is cars have less downforce and less drag but the size is almost same so it will be very slow on corners like mega slow cause less downforce low corner speed but on a car that heavy way less corner speed . it will almost be like indy to a certain extent

I am Japanese🇯🇵, so in a way it was the easiest track for me to understand the differences in machine characteristics. I am not so impressed that the speed of mid to high speed cornering, which is the best part of Suzuka, is reduced. Since the wheelbase has been shortened, I would like to see quick cornering like before.
I also made a video like this, but I was hitting much higher straightline speeds, what settings were you using?
What software do you use to record?
Ditch the hybrids, dust off the old V10s & make the cars smaller & 120-150kgs lighter, bring back bulletproof, low-grip tires & reintroduce refueling. That’ll make these things actually LOOK like the fastest racing cars on the planet.
It’s never been about lap time, it’s about how they go about getting that lap time. In the golden era of grand prix racing (1991-2003), F1 cars looked like the most sinister animal man could ever attempt to tame. And that was all because of the small they were, how little they weighed & how little grip they had.
Look up Jacques Villeneuve’s Friday qualifying lap in Melbourne in ‘03. Puts even the fastest modern F1 cars to shame.
The simulation of the teams would have been similar to this. It's definitely slow, but not very slow.
I like how everyone is using the v0.1 of the mod and not the v0.5 to give themselves an edge 😂

@@kyleguyadeen2871you should take a look back what the FIA presented as prototype mockup for current regulation it looks hideous but now teams managed to build their own interpretations a little bit better looking. I'm pretty confident teams will build their cars less looking like f2 cars as you said for 2026 regulations
