I see the difference. In Jedda Fernando was his teammate, so Ocon went for the full first degree premeditated murder instead of the non-teammate option of vehicular manslaughter

@@the_vortex1537 Both parts agree to not renew the contract, that usually means Alpine, finally, decided not to renew a mediocre driver like Ocon, who is ALWAYS obsessed with his team mate and now he probably will drive for Haas, mediocre driver in a mediocre car.
Just a few more years and he's out!!
@@SweetFlexZ yk i also hate ocons personality but he had the potential to be a fan fav driver bc of his backstory also he is not a mediocre driver, he matched alonso who is one of the best (ik alonso was rusty in 2021 and had bad luck in 2022) but still no mediocre friver could do that
@@the_vortex1537 I completely agree, he's far from a slow driver, he has the speed to be at the top and I'm not joking but his personality, his arrogance, and his obsession with team mates made him (in the long run) out of F1 without being relevant.

"I'm team player"
Max used to do this constantly when he was still a teenager. The worst I’ve seen was 2016 Spa after Eau Rouge down the straight on Kimi. But he’s done it so many times. 2016 Japan on Lewis at the chicane at the end of the race, 2016 Hungary on Kimi at turn 2, 2018 Baku on Ricciardo, those are the only ones that spring to mind off the top of my head.
Ocon fought with passion to become a hated driver, you gotta respect his efforts!!! What an absolute asshole
I think the key here is that the late move that Ocon makes is clearly a reaction to Alosno istead of picking a defensive line, which is not allowed.
"Fernando behind, is faster than you"
I hope one day tables will be turned and Ocon taste his own medicine. Maybe he'll learn, maybe...
I really hope Ocon does not have a seat going forward. He always races dirty against his teammates to a dangerous level, and sometimes races dirty against others as well. It's not worth it to have him on your team when he is an average driver that brings a shitload of internal issues and danger.
Dude, even if that move isn't clean, it's still legal. Verstappen did this many times before, FIA had to clarify this, and yet you don't say that he's a dirty racer. 🤨
I'd love to see your reaction when he inevitably gets a new seat, regardless of his mentality Ocon went blow for blow with Alonso while they were at Alpine, he deserves a new seat.
@@Michael_Irohazaka Pero Max gaña carreiras, así que polo menos a súa conducción sí sirve de algo
@gunzStatic You perfectly know that there are at least 7 drivers on the grid that could do the same, if not worse. Does your life improve after letting go out your biased hatred towards a driver on the Internet?
@@Queue_M4 What? How did Ocon go blow for blow with Alonso?? Ocon was MAYBE somewhat on par with Alonso in 2021, when Alonso came back after a 2 year hiatus, and somewhat facilitated by Ocons 25 points in Hungary (it was somewhat lucky, but fair enough. Thats racing). But 2022, Alonso would've destroyed Ocon if Alonso didnt collect engine DNFs like Pokemon cards. But in no world can you say that Ocon went blow for blow with Alonso. Never.
I think Fernando even enjoys this stuff xD
Ocon really wants to replicate the Schumi-Barrichello near-wall thingy

there were many moves like the one in spain in the past, some went wrong other overtook from the grass, if not ask Barrichello how it felt going so close to the wall when shumy left enough space to him, the one in jeddah is a stupid move from alonso
Penalty for ocon
I don't think that there was space for Alonso at any point in the Jeddah clip
We know what happens when a car goes over the back of another. Shit, Fernando knows that very well (Melbourne 2016 and even Austin 2023). Webber in Valencia 2010 could have easily gone into the catch fence. If Fernando doesn't back out in Jeddah, we don't have a Fernando anymore.
as you mature you realize that is better losing one position or a couple of tenths than the whole race, thats something you learn in WEC where you can be in the back all the race and end up in the podium or winning the race
Ocon is a great driver .... on an empty track
F1 fans when there is actual racing 😱
This isn't "actual racing" it's completely unsportsmanlike blocking without the least bit of skill involved. This would be a desperate newbie move in a video game, it's flatout inacceptable in actual F1 racing.
actual racing lol, go watch porsche cup to see how an actual racing looks like or bathrust 2014 final laps in v8 super cars, you can also watch those porsche vs corvette laps in the last lap of laguna seca when they crashed and one got a penalty for making a collision which this is what you call "actual racing" can cause, the accident not only dnf one but two cars

I personally think the Spain defense isn't that egregious. Sure it's late, but it's not a reactionary move. Jeddah on the other hand was either clearly reactionary or just bad spatial awareness because he was looking the other way.
not really in jeddah he saw the mirrors and move to the left, on the side of alonso it was a stupid move from alonso as there is a wall and not enough space, though as racing driver he could saw other thing in that moment, it was a schumacher barichello moment, schumacher did the same to barichello though in the case of barrichelo we got 1cm or something from the wall and overtook schumy

Typical Ocon move (or Stroll).

It was grass and wood seats back then if i remember correctly… or just grass even…
I was in the grandstand overlooking T1-2, and the Spanish fans went absolutely ballistic when Alonso made this overtake. Especially so since they were booing Ocon every chance they could get prior to this.

Tbh, Jeddah is nothing compared to the dirty ass move in Spain. In Jeddah Ocon clearly chosed interior line. In Spain it was pure dirty ass blocking
I’m a seasoned Ocon hater but I genuinely don’t understand the Jeddah late move. There was never a cars width for Fernando to begin with, the move was never on
Wasn’t too bad
The 2 clips aren't the same though tbh. The 2nd one Alonso is going for gap that barely exists
I'm definitely not an Ocon fan but if the move is within the rules then why not defend? I have seen him doing worse things than those two moves...
Could you please do a similar video about borderline racing about Max, Russell, Checo, Stroll, Magnussen, Sargeant, and Sainz? It would be interesting to show some people here that Ocon is not the single center of attention in that domain.

@@TheKostickwow, I did not expect someone jumping straight into fantasy, eluding the main question and asking something irrelevant that early in the discussion. Congratulations, I guess.
To answer your question : before his first title, Max was considered an aggressive overtaker and defender. I am not criticizing this : this is motor racing, but a bunch of moves have been judged irregular by the FIA and that is a fact. The point here is to stop focusing on the sole person of Ocon and to put things in perspective, for the understanding, the sake and the love of motor racing, so it keeps being a nice and welcoming place for every fan, and respectful to any driver.

Hard racing but legal, especially in jeddah, if alonso goes to the outside, everything is fine. But he has to go inside, where even before ocons more, barely was enough space
I still don't know what Ocon had in mind in Jeddah 2022 and why Alpine didn't call team orders. Conspiracy time, it was to get Hamilton back in front, given that Hamilton was starting P16 and Ocon in managed by Toto.

Esteban showed himself as unstable teammate ever since he joined Force India. 2020 is exception
Well he got utterly destroyed by Ric in 2020 so had no chance to be a horrible teammate.

You're not supposed to react to what the car behind does as it's considered blocking. Pick a line and stick with it. Bit different in F1 I guess with DRS making this overtake an inevitability, which makes ocons 'defensive gesture' here completely pointless. All he's doing is pissing off his peers 😂🤦
I believe you are allowed to make 1 move. You can't move and immediately change direction though.
Ocon still has a recent race win whilst your crush alonslow has the record for most consecutive f1 starts without a win.
friendly reminder that the only reason ocon has ONE race win in F1 is due to Alsono's defense.
@@etrcentenario9737 that's your subjective take. What we can prove with data is ocon has a win and alonso doesn't for a decade +.

Jeddah move is in reaction to what Alonso does, it's blocking and a bad move. Barcelona move looks like they move at the same time, don't think that's too bad from Ocon.
You have no idea about racing. Both of them are way too late to try and make Alonso crash
@@ferst262 A late move implies that the defensive move was made in reaction to the attacking driver. Ocon's move in Jeddah was a late move and also arguably a second move too, just straight dangerous and he should have been penalised.
However, in Barcelona, Ocon starts moving at the same time as Alonso, or at least within the same fraction of a second. It's borderline, if Ocon's move was any later it would definitely be a late move but I think he gets away with it there. I think it would be harsh to give a penalty for that move.
And what a scathing criticism from someone so wise... I agree with half of what you said...
Let's hope we won't see that fool again in F1...
Ocon is one of the worst drivers in the grid.
Ahh yes, the propaganda machine in full swing
Dirty driver and honestly deserves all the flack he gets. It'd be one thing if he was fast, but he's not. Elbows out when fighting for the win is understandable. We've seen a lot of drivers do this, although some more on the nose than others but Ocon does it literally constantly.
Ocon has got to be the dirtiest driver i've ever seen (and i follow F1 since Senna, Prost and Mansell days).
@@ihsanjayadi88 Schumacher was super aggressive, like Max is nowadays, but they have results to show for. Ocon never won anything for being aggressive. He is just a silly dirty driver.
Well, Ocon is a very... he's a driver...
The situation in Jeddah looks much clearer than discussed. First of all Alonso was his teammate. In this case, his maneuver was somewhat fair. He didn't push him against the wall ;)
But secondly, Ocon had no intention of putting pressure on Alonso. He simply stayed on the inside and closed the small gap, so that Alonso had to brake or overtake on the right. If Alonso was willing to overtake on the right, we would not be discussing the situation.
Ocon is a special driver, but the situation in Jeddah is not as bad as you described.
"[...] so that Alonso had to brake" - in a straight, you're not allowed to close the gap if the car in the back has any overlap with you (unlike in corners). There was a gap (as you admitted), and closing it this late was dangerous and illegal
"He didn't push him against the wall" - yes, he would've if Alonso didn't take avoiding action
"[The maneuver was fair because Alonso was his teammate]" - what are you on about? Do you even believe what you're saying? Or are you just here to troll?
@@val_de_maar you take comments much to serious. You know how Ocon acts against teammates? He is focussed on his teammates and prefers to loose positions so he can defend his teammates.
sarcasm isn't your strength, hm?!
And with all that, the Jeddah move was kind of harmless if you compare it with all his other maneuvers...
But why would one try to squeeze through the smallest gap instead of trying to overtake on the outside? Ocon is also one of the drivers who brakes too late, if he is under pressure. Just let him fly threw...
At least is also protecting the position and closing this small gap a very common move. Nothing other drivers doesn't do in this situation.
@@val_de_maaryou can See from ocons onboard, he moves a carlenght before the line.
1:27 you can See alonso, way before that line. Look how there is no space inside, still alonso wants to go there instead of going around the outside. Its a Hard but fair move from ocon, just stupid from the team perspective, and a stupid idea from alonso to try to go down the inside
@@chrischichrischi Firstly, I cant smell over text if a claim of yours is sarcastic or not. You saying that this maneuver was fair because it was against a teammate might be a thing some people actually wholeheartedly believe, so how could I differentiate sarcastic comments from serious comments? Put yourself in my shoes there.
Also, is you saying that the Jeddah move was harmless also sarcastic? Because I believe it is - Alonso pit-maneuvering Ocon into a concrete wall with 300 kph mightve been quite a big shunt.
Closing a gap on the straight is fine, as long as you dont do it as late as Ocon. There was a gap there, and Alonso went for it. If Ocon closed it earlier, and left Alonso a chance to switch to the outside without needing to break, that wouldve been fine as well. But what Ocon did, needing Alonso to avoid a collision by braking - thats just not cool!
