I love the emotional journey Adam takes us on in this arrangement. We begin in the fullness of heartbreak then move through healing and end in confidence again. This is especially felt to me in the bridge. Each iteration of "I don't need you anymore" feels like a different emotion at a different stage. This song works, for me, so much better as a ballad.
It was a successful performance when he made Cher cry. 😀 I remember hearing him sing for the first time when he was a contestant on America Idol, he was that incredible. Look at him now, he's singing for Queen and performing left and right and performing in front of Cher. So happy for him. He's such an incredible singer! His vocal range is so top-notch. At 15:27 - 15:31 hahaha 🤣you always make me laugh. 💚💚💚
Michael Orland was the musical director for this show at Kennedy Center Honors and he was also the musical director on American Idol when Adam was a contestant. I bet he remembered Adam’s performance and they worked this out between them. They’ve worked together on different projects so they get each other.
Adam did a rough version of this during his American Idol auditions in Hollywood in 2009, so he's had it in his arsenal for a long time. I've only got to now him 2 years ago and I've been smitten since. It's fair to say that catching up on a decade of Adam has taken over my life but man, he is by far the best vocalist and sadly most underrated voice of a generation.
Adam Lambert can sing anything. Unfortunately, from what I have heard, his original songs tend to be overly "glamish" and over-produced. They don't do justice to his phenomenal talent, sadly.
If you haven't seen him singing Ordinary World that he released Monday I highly suggest it. He performed it on The Voice on Tuesday and dedicated it to the victims of the Colorado Springs shooting. Duran Duran even commented on how great it is.
@valogden It's been on replay since Monday. As a kid I was a huge fan of Duran Duran so it's extra special 😃 For the past 2,5 years I've listened to QAL and Adam only. I'm a theatre kid myself with a wide variety of musical styles that I love and it's as if he went through my history as he's done songs by Depeche Mode and Nine Inch Nails as well on his latest tour so yeah... consider me more than converted 😂
@Ytub Save Adam is a rarity in that a lot of people find him better live than on albums. The great thing is that he often sings them in a different genre than on record so you can always expect the unexpected.
@@cookiedoreo3548 Yes I went to his show in Vegas for my birthday. He is so great and they way his voice vibrates thru you. HEGE❣️ I cannot thank you enough for taking my recommendation that you do this reaction video to Adam’s masterful tribute performance for Cher at the Kennedy Center Honors! He is phenomenal in this, as you found out 🙂 This is now officially my favorite reaction video from you❣️Your reactions here were priceless, I’m not surprised you’d be moved to tears seeing this performance of Adam’s. I still am, every time I rewatch it ❤️ I also love hearing your explanations from your vocal coach perspective and I continue to learn from them. And I gotta say, during your commentary when you spontaneously sang duplicate snippets of Adam’s vocals to explain your point, you sounded beautifully on point too. You have a truly soothing voice that’s lovely to listen to 🥰 Seeing Reba McIntyre reacting in the audience as an honors recipient herself that night was cool, but watching Cher taking in Adam’s performance honoring her was SO touching❣️I’m going on and on here because I’m so happy you did this video, Hege 🍀 You’re the BEST! And your Christmas tree 🎄 is adorable, by the way 🙂 Again, thanks from the bottom of my heart for this one!
I love that she takes our requests and how she explains all the technical bits!! I love music of all kinds. I think it is food for the soul. It is healing and can make you feel things you wouldn't otherwise feel. But I know absolutely nothing about how to sing or play an instrument. So learning about how it is all done and all the hard work and technique involved in a performance is so mesmerizing to me.
I have watched this performance many many times and love it each time. Always brings tears and fills my being with warmth. I really enjoyed finding this and hearing your explanations and comments. Thanks! I'm subscribing now!
I have been obsessed with this arrangement and how it really brought out the emotions of the song in such a tender way and much more personal than the original, which like you said we aren't comparing here. Anyway, so I have been consuming every reaction video I can find and yours by far has been the most rewarding experience!! I'm in no way a singer, but I am a fan and in awe of Adam Lambert's vocal talent. Your reaction and appreciation of all of the elements was so relatable to how I experienced it and your vocal analysis and commentary was easy to follow and understand and enhanced my appreciation for the mastery he shows. Most of all, you being emotionally connected and vulnerable was so genuine it made me feel like I was experiencing it all over again with a friend. Your genuine warmth and kindness beamed through the entire video and I was watching your face to experience him again with fresh eyes. Thank you for an excellent reaction and analysis. You have an excited new follower in me and I am off do deep dive into your other videos. ;) hugs to you
This is the nicest comment and made my day 🙏❤️ Thank you so much for all your kind words, I truly appreciate it, and I’m so happy you like the commentary. Adam Lambert is amazing and I’ve been meaning to do more reactions, so I’ll try to do that soon. Thanks for watching, and again for your heart-warming comment. Have a beautiful weekend ✨. Hugs right back!
I recently saw Adam Lambert for the first time this past October for his Witch Hunt Tour. There were several times during the show that people around me and I just said Wow! His voice is just unbelievable! I know he's an incredible artist outside of his touring with Queen for a couple of months out of the year. It was incredible however that when they were in Bologna Italy this past summer for their European tour. In the middle of the rock concert Adam surprises the audience by singing Nessun Dorma. It was beautiful and fun to see the looks of pride on Brian May and Roger Taylor's faces. Adam has written a Broadway musical that he's going to release more information about in the future. The guy doesn't stop. He's constantly working. I know he's in the movie Fairyland that is supposed to come out next year, has a new album coming out, judges a show in the UK and there's rumors of him touring again with Queen next year. He's a rabbit hole that has been so fun to discover.
It’s fun to go back on UA-cam and watch his American Idol audition! Bohemian Rhapsody! Even way back then he nailed it 🙂 And if you ever watch him in an interview he is smart, humble, and well-spoken.
@@HegeOfficial you might find the vanquishing of the three headed sea witch from ALW’s Cinderella soundtrack interesting. There isn’t a video clip just audio. Or there is a little voice clip from hair when he did that.
So what I learned is after this performance Cher kept praising his amazing performance and had Adam do a professional recording of the song like he did that night.
I think she just gave him permission to release his version, Adam has stated he hasn't actually met Cher in person as she had to jet off immediately after his performance

Lady, go watch the original performance if you want to watch it in its entirety, and don't click a vocal analysis video if you don't want the analysis, or expect me to change my format for you ✌️
Whitney Houston singing "I Will Always Love You", Eva Cassidy singing "Over The Rainbow"....and now Adam Lambert "Believe". It doesn't get any better than that.
I really enjoy your analysis. Very educational. New subscriber. I heard another reactor say it looked like Adam wasn't quite ready when the orchestra started to play, like they started too soon. And thank you for the explanation of the earpiece.
I've seen Queen + Adam Lambert in concert, and Adam is an absolutely phenomenal live performer, as you can see here. A standing ovation - and tears! - from Cher herself for his performance of her song is the highest praise indeed! I'm not super keen on his original music, but whenever he sings, it is so powerful. He's such an incredible musical talent.
Great reaction of a beautiful performance!!! What’s even better is seeing Adam sing this live and I was fortunate to do from the 3rd row at his concert in 2019!! Mesmerizing 🥰💜
💚 Adam Lambert is one of a kind! I love him, his voice, his kindness, his beautiful face…well…everything about him! So…of course I will subscribe to you🥰
Thank you for talking about the “in-ears” process! Some of us don't know a lot about that or what happens during the performances. Jasson, the musical director of The Kelly Clarkson Show explained what Kelly hears during the Kellyoke, and specifically, they talked about the duet that Kelly did with Dolly Parton. You should check it out: ua-cam.com/video/j7WAEihhuE0/v-deo.html (min 4:00) That kind of discussion is part of a segment they do outside of the show, they called it “Kellyoke Afterparty”, those videos are normally 1 hour long, but there are also some short videos, like the one that I shared with you. And going back to Adam Lambert and this rendition. It's one of my favorites to be honest, he did it justice 🤍 MG 🇲🇽

💚 Great reaction video. Such a Beautiful performance. I remember rooting for him on American Idol. 💙 Also, Kelly Clarkson performed ‘Fancy’ that same day honoring Reba McEntire if you would like to watch. 😊
I could only watch four minutes of this video because this lady just kept interrupting, she likes the sound of her own voice and is impressed with her own analysis. It would have been much better to play the entire performance because interrupting its beautiful flow is almost cruel, then comment on it or replay parts of the performance with comments. Sorry, I'm checking out of this one.
That's such a silly and unoriginal take you've got there ❤️ and your assumption sounds like a projection and says more about your own entitlement and lack of understanding. If "the lady" played the whole performance without interruptions would have been copyrighted as it wouldn't have been fair use. And you clicked an analysis - do you expect people to watch something once and then just remember all the details? If so - try ☺️ You make that video and deal with copyright ❤️. Or did you think "this lady" would change the format for you personally? This isn't an airport, there's no need to announce your departure.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE react to P¡nk singing “Hopelessly Devoted to You” (Olivia Newton John Tribute Live)?? Ugh, I’m in awe🤩and the way she makes it seem so effortless it’s just perfection 🤌🏼You’ll love it Hege!! 🥰❤️😍🎶🎤
As a long-time educator, I taught courses on oral presentation skills…..and I thought you would appreciate a new set of eyes on how the disruptions affect your listeners. Obviously, you think how you present your insights is superb and needs no improvement. Confidence is important in education, but so is humility. All the best to you and your work.
@@annelessick3163 Well, as a "long time educator" you should definitely know how to deliver feedback in a more constructive way than simply calling it "annoying" based on your own personal preferences ;). We both know it wasn't every 8 seconds. You're also basing your feedback on one single old video that I can't change now, and chances are my timing has gotten better since this one was published. So you can't really defend your comment as neither informed nor constructive feedback meant to help me. Which again makes it kind of ironic that you point out how humility is important.
Weird how you felt the need to leave three comments saying the same thing, when you're fully in your right to just click off the video if it's not to your taste. This is a reaction and vocal analysis video - you chose to watch it. If you wanted to watch the performance by itself to hear him sing, that's fully in your right too. What a pointless comment and baseless question. Nobody's forcing you to watch. You don't dictate what's posted on youtube, but you're entirely in charge of what you choose to click and watch. If you don't want a commentary video - why did you click it? And then complain? You know I could also turn your argument straight back to you, seeing as this comment is indeed your opinion which is useless to me. Silly entitled little guy.
@@HegeOfficial You sound like a very young person who has yet to grow up, with due respect. Write something with a little more meaning; I kind of think that you likely can. Turn your anger Into something a bit more creative. My point was: put out something better. Read books, study humans and have fun while living this tiny bit of time that you get on our planet. Peace and love.
@@busterkennedy1249 Aaw, good job! Or *you* find something better to do with your own time than telling younger women what they should or shouldn't be doing with theirs, seeing as it doesn't affect your life in any way. You're assuming the 15 minutes of video you see is what I spend *all* my time on, and basing your critique of me on your own assumption. Not very academic of you. You're the one spending your time on here commenting as if I asked for life advice, and you want to talk about being mature. You wrote an angry comment and because I push back you're telling me to redirect my anger? Hahahaha. Very cute. Very manly, not being emotionally mature and projecting your own feelings onto others. Furthermore, I have no clue who you are, your opinion holds no value to me, and the fact that you think it does is hilarious. See, like you, I also know how to use master suppression techniques when I write, meaning I also know how to recognize them both in my native and my second language - yours (and btw your first comment is missing a "to"). Nice job managing to present yourself as both an ageist and a clown while trying to position yourself as intellectually superior to me, lol. Your high horse is a pony. With peace and love ❤️ .
I do talk a lot :) Weird how that works with commentary videos, eh? :) I don't think I missed any emotions here - if you listen when I talk you might notice :) Anyways, not sure how you'd want m to fix that now - not that I would as I like the video as it is and don't cater to you personally. Thank you so much ❤️ I want to do another Adam video soon, he’s really spectacular.
Legend!
Lady, listen to the whole performance and then comment. Explaining every inch takes away from the beauty of this unbelievable, magical performance.
Adam is amazing, great reaction!!
He really is :) Thank you so much for watching!
"Who Wants to Live Forever" at the Isle of Wight festival. Your welcome
Great review loved it
Victor!! It's been a while :) Nice to see you again!

Adam Lambert is one of a kind! I love him, his voice, his kindness, his beautiful face…well…everything about him! So…of course I will subscribe to you🥰
Awesome performance and reaction 💚
You really need to listen to cher's music omg she is the best and listen to more of Adam music as well. Love love love both of their music 🎶 🎵
Nice nice reaction love this ❤
Thank you so much
That's what the definition of a tour de force performance is.
You should check it out: ua-cam.com/video/j7WAEihhuE0/v-deo.html (min 4:00)
That kind of discussion is part of a segment they do outside of the show, they called it “Kellyoke Afterparty”, those videos are normally 1 hour long, but there are also some short videos, like the one that I shared with you.
And going back to Adam Lambert and this rendition. It's one of my favorites to be honest, he did it justice 🤍

Tusen takk Hege :-) Utrolig bra versjon a Believe!💚

Can you do his West Coast version from Koko ? 🤞
Adam is the who is the whole package! His voice is the best in the business. And he's a nice guy on top of it all! Amazing, powerful, controlled voice! Perfection! Love this beautiful man!
Yasssss.
YESSS the gear shift! i've actually had a harder time down-shifting to my low end after a svengali-esque instructor who wanted to push me as a mezzo.

💚 Great reaction video.
Such a Beautiful performance. I remember rooting for him on American Idol. 💙
Also, Kelly Clarkson performed ‘Fancy’ that same day honoring Reba McEntire if you would like to watch.
Hey,hege,,,। Firstly,,, i want to congrats you,,, merry Christmas ⛄🎄,,, from India,,, and I love it your all video's।।।
Hi :) Thank you so much, and Merry Christmas to you too! Appreciate you!

I’ve tried driving a stick, but it didn’t go very well lol.
🥰❤️😍🎶🎤
Oooh, thanks so much for the recommendation!! :) Sounds very interesting, and I need some P!nk on here
@@HegeOfficial thank you, hope you have a great weekend as well! 💜
pls react Gabriel Henrique singing too Believe - Cher. tks
I take suggestions from people who actually watch my videos and don't just click my video to promote something else.
@@HegeOfficial He Was in The AGT semifinal, it s ok tks
Mostly good comments but so annoying that you interrupt the performance every8 seconds.
What do you hope to achieve by telling me? The video is what it is, and you could have spared us both the unnecessary negativity.
Yeah because you won't let him sing the song.
Weird how you felt the need to leave three comments saying the same thing, when you're fully in your right to just click off the video if it's not to your taste. This is a reaction and vocal analysis video - you chose to watch it. If you wanted to watch the performance by itself to hear him sing, that's fully in your right too. Don't blame your own choices on me.
you should listen to the "original" version of this song by ella handerson .shes amazing
the original is by Adam Lambert he sang it on American Idol in 2009, Ella was much later
@@assy_zwoelfe7419 true true. Still a wonderful version
Quit stopping and quit talking! Wait till the end
No.
That’s fine there’s plenty of better people to watch their reactions anyway. Just wanted to try you out but won’t ever watch again.
@@anitaphelps8715 Hahahhha, ok bye Anita!
Will let him sing it shut Your mouth

I can assure you my mouth isn't going anywhere. Thanks for your concern 🤡
to much pausing and talking in the background
If the analysis part isn't for you, feel free to not watch. No need to tell me, cause the format isn't changing for you 😅
You talk so much I forgot what I was even watching.

No. Please watch the performance if that's what you want, and not my analysis video. Kinda need to talk for those.
Why do we need see your opinion? Useless.
Omg.. you talk so much! You missed the emotional aspect.
I do talk a lot :) Weird how that works with commentary videos, eh? :) I don't think I missed any emotions here - if you listen when I talk you might notice :) Anyways, not sure how you'd want m to fix that now - not that I would as I like the video as it is and don't cater to you personally. Have a great weekend, Ken!
Небрежное исполнение и определённо , значительно меньшие вокальные возможности исполнителя.
Don't drink anymore, vodka kills your brain cells and probably makes you deaf 😂
