Thank you so much for explaining these precious scriptures. You are the only person i know who dedicates his time to doing what you do. Superb teaching. I have learnt so much. Please don't stop. I've never been taught specific passages of the bible ever, not even in a bible study, and to be honest, every bible study I've done haven't a clue what they are teaching. I'm slowly unlearning things through what you are teaching. Thank you.

Indeed the servant with the one talent is not saved. He doesn't know God to begin with. He thinks the LORD is a hard man which is not true because as we know he is gracious and kind. He thinks that he reaps where he has not sown which again is not true because all good things come from God. The LORD is constantly sowing good things, whether of spiritual or physical nature. And this is how all works salvationists perceive God, as a hard or austere man and they are afraid of him just like this servant, fearing punishment. If you are saved by grace then you know God is not like that at all, but the absolute opposite. A loving Father, much more than any earthly father. They don't believe that though sadly. I also believe that the one talent is the gospel, which this servant did not receive in his heart but instead buried it because he didn't believe it can save.

Yes. He had a wrong understanding of God. Only people who God has given a new heart and a right spirit know Him personally. They know for instance that Jesus is full of grace and truth. They know also that Jesus is love and because love is kind and patient that Jesus is also kind and patient too!

@watchmansascha4764 However, you must consider the fact that stewardships are not given to the unsaved. Stewardships are only given to the SAVED. In the Parable of the Talents, the Master gives varying degrees of STEWARDSHIPS according to the abilities of his 3 servants hoping that they will put those stewardships into ACTION for PROFITABLE SERVICE.
The first 2 were faithful and diligent who put their stewardships right away into action thereby resulting in PROFIT for their master resulting in the Master's commendation of them and then REWARDING them - Matthew 25:21, Matthew 25:23.
This parable is conceptually parallel with James 2:14-26 in terms of profitable service in the faith and also conceptually parallel with the Parable of the 10 Minas in Luke 19:11-27 where the Master gave varying amounts of stewardships in the amount of money to his 3 servants where they were to put that money into ACTION for PROFITABLE SERVICE. Again, the Master commends his first 2 faithful and diligent servants for their SERVICE and then rewards them - Luke 19:16-17, Luke 19:18-19.
The 1st was given the REWARD of ruling over 10 cities and the 2nd was given the REWARD of ruling over 5 cities.
Luke 19: 16 -17 - “The first one came and said, ‘Sir, your mina has EARNED 10 MORE.’ ‘Well done, my good servant!’ his master replied. ‘Because you have been trustworthy in a very small matter, TAKE CHARGE OF 10 CITIES.
Luke 19: 18-19 - “The second came and said, ‘Sir, your mina HAS EARNED 5 MORE.’ “His master answered, ‘YOU TAKE CHARGE OF 5 CITIES.’
The 3rd servant was a LAZY, PROCRASTINATING SERVANT who did nothing with his stewardship, but decided to sweep it under the rug, so to speak, and was also afraid of putting his stewardship into ACTION, which later resulted in his Master's reprimand/tongue lashing and the LOSS OF REWARD, BUT this does not mean the 3rd servant was unsaved.
1 Corinthians 3:10-15 makes it very clear that there are saved Christians in this earthly life that are diligent, hard working, and faithful in their service in this life which will result in REWARD, but there will also be many saved Christians in this earthly life that are LAZY, PROCRASTINATING servants who do nothing with their talents/stewardships by not putting those abilities into ACTION for PROFITABLE SERVICE, but they are still saved.
1 Corinthians 3:10-15 - Christians in this life who lived faithfully, obediently, and wisely are in essence building a "house" made of gold, silver, and precious stones which are materials that will stand up to Christ's fiery scrutiny and remain intact and standing resulting in commendation and eternal rewards. Christians in this life who lived unfaithfully, disobediently, carnally, etc, are in essence building a "house" made of wood, hay, and stubble which are materials that will not stand up to Christ's fiery scrutiny and will end up falling apart and collapsing, but they are still saved. Their flimsy "house" is destroyed resulting in loss of eternal rewards, BUT they are still saved and in heaven - 1 Corinthians 3:15. There is a parallel between 1 Corinthians 3:10-15 and Matthew 7:24-27 where 1 Corinthians 3:10-15 explains Matthew 7:24-27.
1 Corinthians 3:10-15 - 10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
      12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
14 If any man's work ABIDE which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a REWARD.(Note: The word "reward" is NOT referring to the free gift of eternal life, but is referring to an ETERNAL REWARD that is earned by our performance here on earth)
15 If any man's work shall be BURNED, he shall suffer LOSS :BUT HE HIMSELF SHALL BE SAVED; yet so as by fire.
I hope this helps to clarify, God bless!

I have a prayer request, family. Can you please pray for my father and stepmother? They have strayed so far from God. They go to pagan rituals. My stepmother is in a witch coven. They talk to familiar spirits, which we who are the body of Christ, know are demons. They are influenced to the point of introducing another person into their marriage. So, they have a polyamorous relationship that is confusing and painful to me. It's disgusting in God's eyes and our eyes. Please pray that the demonic strongholds come crashing down. Pray that they may know Jesus Christ and that they may be set free. Thank you. God bless.

When I was in middle school, I was really shy and didn't want to do the geography bee in front of the whole school and purposefully botched the semifinals. My dad pulled me aside and had a very deep discussion about this parable and how God had given me the gift to do well in geography and purposefully hiding that away would be equivalent to the servant with one talent. This parable applies to any gift God has given us, whether that is a spiritual gift or a more temporal one.

We are saved because not only do we believe in Him, but we also put our faith and trust in Him. Demons don't put their faith and trust in Jesus, also in order to be saved one must be born again, born of water and spirit. Water symbolizing the first birth, the womb, and spirit symbolizing the rebirth, being baptized in the Holy Spirit by believing into and receiving Jesus Christ, demons aren't born of a womb so they can't be born again and cannot be saved.

A talent is a weight of gold or silver, about 75 pounds. It is currency. What is the closest thing to "currency" that God has? It's faith.
Any genuine good work worthy of reward is a working of God in us, by faith. We exercise faith, and it is increased.
Many are busy digging a hole, trying to bury the gospel they've heard but don't believe. It would be better for them to have even a little faith, even if they put it "in the bank."

The talents represent the ability to understand God's Word through the Holy Ghost. The one with the 5 talents understands the Word with greater ease and thus gains more faith as time passes. The one with only one talent cannot understand the Word and loses faith. Why did Jesus speak in parables? Jesus speaks in parables so that only God's chosen elect will be able to understand. Matt: 13:10-13 explains Matt 25:14-30.

He explained it. They are saved by fire (1 Corinthians‬ ‭3‬:‭15‬). Only the Lord knows the hearts of men, and He alone knows who is saved. Those that have believed are saved, but certainly can fall back into the world. There’s a dual nature in every believer (Romans 7:18-24).

@krisjustin3884 Good comment! The problem today is that not all Free Grace believers are on the same page regarding the Parable of the Talents which is also conceptually parallel with the Parable of the 10 Minas in Luke 19:11-27. We must all consider the fact that stewardships are not given to the unsaved.

In regards to 1 Corinthians 3:10-15, Christians in this life who lived faithfully, obediently, and wisely are in essence building a "house" made of gold, silver, and precious stones which are materials that will stand up to Christ's fiery scrutiny and remain intact and standing resulting in commendation and eternal rewards.

      11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 14 If any man's work ABIDE which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a REWARD.

@@krisjustin3884 The concept of "outer darkness" and "weeping and gnashing of teeth" is debated among many in the Free Grace camp and one that not all Free Grace Christians agree upon. I know that these 2 expressions have no doubt caused unending confusion, fear, and anxiety for many saved Christians and these 2 expressions will no doubt be perverted by all false teachers that are works based, especially Lordship Salvation preachers who will falsely teach that these 2 expressions are referring to hell. These 2 expressions appear in some of the parables of Jesus and other passages, but it is best to look at them in the right context and to determine what they really mean in each context.
Weeping and gnashing of teeth is a common outward Eastern expression of grief and regret over the loss of something - death of a dearly loved one, etc. Here in the West, these expressions are considered unthinkable and discouraged because the media and those with a macho mentality teach that weeping, gnashing of teeth are signs of weakness and being a wimp as many perceive "outer darkness" and "weeping and gnashing of teeth" as inconceivable for saved Christians. These expressions are not always expressions of contempt at God. It depends on the context and what it means in each context.
The "weeping and gnashing of teeth" and "outer darkness" is not a reference to hell or the Lake of Fire. ONLY the expression "FIERY FURNACE" is a reference to the Lake of Fire. The "outer darkness" is an area within the Kingdom of God where unfaithful, disobedient, and carnal Christians in this life will be banished to and excluded from special joys and privileges that they otherwise could have been entitled to, but they are still saved. The context of 1 Corinthians 3:15 verifies this.

    Hi @onodiamante
I see a discrepancy between the explanation of this parable and the one about the soils. If the man with one talent wasn’t saved neither were the other soils. Both parables end saying “whosever has more shall be given, those that don’t have what little they think they have shall be taken away” just because the other soils “believed” for a while or a minute doesn’t mean they BELIEVED unto life, not based on works but their belief wasn’t a born again belief, for example other religions believe in Jesus but are not IN Christ. James says even the devil believes and trembles, but that doesn’t mean belief unto salvation James 2:19
The man with the one talent was given a measure of belief but did not embrace it, just like the other soils

So is it the same thing with the Parable of the Faithful Servant? If that servant was rather unfaithful, he was never saved to begin with?

The servant was never saved to begin with,
see how he said to him "Thou wicked and slothful servant"
If he had Faith in Christ, his sins would be blotted out, he'd be justified of all his sins, past and >future sins<
Colossians 1:22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
1 Corinthians 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

Christ contrasts the commendation of believers who serve the Lord faithfully and receive a reward with the condemnation of the unbeliever, who loses both entrance into the kingdom (by faith alone) and reward in eternity. All believers should yearn to hear, "Well done, good and faithful servant."

I feel like I’m just coasting in my life occasionally trying to share the gospel with family, and even more rarely, others, but I believe on Jesus, and I love others so at the very least I’m following what He commanded. What does serving God for reward look like in practical terms?

WRONG! It's obedience to the Torah. All of you thinking you'll be shown mercy after you've trampled His laws your whole life and have "continued sinning so that grace may abound" are in for a terrifying awakening. The fables of Christianity has been filling up sheol with deceived souls for 1600 years running.
