Davey Allison is the reason I got into watching Nascar. When Davey died, it was like racing was over. Yeah, I never met him personally, but I was 15 years old and had never been a fan of anyone or anything sports wise until I started watching him. It was like losing a good friend and I knew that friend wouldn't be there on Sundays anymore. Took me a while to get back into Nascar after he passed away. There will never be another Nascar driver like him! We Miss You Davey!! You will never be forgotten!! I'm sure you and The GOAT Dale Earnhardt are racing in Heaven now!
Earnhardt being the first guy to Davey, rolling up to his car leaning out the window and hollering at him happy as heck… that just hit hard. Miss them both.
Davey’s 19 wins by his age 32 season is among the best in NASCAR history. He finished top 10 in just under half of his 190+ career races. I think Davey would have dominated the early 2000s.
@@markatthemission the counter to that is Dale Jr won 15 in his first 185 starts and then only won 11 more in his last 500 races . Ryan Newman won 9 races in his first 80 starts and only 10 more in his last 600 +

that last video at talladega was the most impressive one. he was in front and pulling far ahead, making a couple two or three other very fast drivers look like total amateurs. davey's the best driver nascar will ever see.

Wouldn't have won 93 for sure. He had 1 win more than halfway thru the season when he died and was in 5th in points. Earnhardt and Rusty dominated that whole year even when Davey was alive and were way way ahead of him in points.
Out of all the Great Drivers I would say that Davey was my favorite Driver of all time. He would have been a Hall of Fame inductee no doubt. Davey would have won multiple Championship's. RIP Davey NEVER FORGOTTEN.
What a great moment it must have been for anyone who met him in person. I met Adam Petty 2 weeks before he died in 2000 I was 12 years old drivers and show cars used to come to publix it's a grocery store here in FL and would sign autographs and he was there. What an awesome kid
Davey Allison was one of the absolute GREATEST talents I've ever seen inside of a racecar. My god it pains me to think about what his career could have looked like if we didn't lose him when we did. A travesty and tragedy when we lost him when we did ... along with Alan Kulwicki as well, because we lost both of them in such close proximity with each other. Davey was EASILY on his way to having AT LEAST 40-50 wins in his career, and a couple of Championships. The guy was just THAT GOOD. R.I.P. Davey ... We miss you.
To this day I am suspicious about Davey and Alan (two of Fords best drivers tearing it up at the time), both dying in an aircraft within 4 months of each other.
7:08 good golly gosh this was a great race to watch kyle and davey were both awesome, mello yello and havoline are great sponsors, and then you add in earnhardt senior who was still dominant so often back then
wow, never knew the team robert yates owned and davey drove for used to be owned by someone named ranier and fielded buddy baker and cale yarborough, cool.
Here we see Kyle Petty spinning Dale Earnhardt and Davey Allison. Funny how he can criticize other drivers for intentionally wrecking another driver yet he's done the it himself.
He was amazing people just don't know what they are missing these cars were real modified stock cars put together by hand these wooden lap top computers boring race wonder which Hendrick car the office is going to give the checkered flag to
Man Davey could drive, and Robert Yates made the horsepower under the hood. It's a shame him and Dale Jarrett couldn't have been teammates together, they'd have dominated the middle to late 90's.
That '87 t-bird he drove was probably one of the prettiest looking race cars ever.
In a time before we threw around the word so casually, Davey Allison was a legend in the making.
It's so sad it was cut short I was born in 88 I sure would of loved to watch him win growing up like I did Jeff Gordon
Good Ol Davey Allison gone too soon but his legacy will be remembered as a nascar legend

That part when he says

I saw Davey win in Phoenix,.. next season he won the Daytona 500,.. after he did that I became a fan,…I was devastated when he died,….
The most talented driver in NASCAR in my opinion.

Absolutely! I miss seeing the 28 Tex/Hav Ford on the track. Iconic image.
I haven't gave a damn about NASCAR since we lost Davey Allison but they were good times while they lasted. Robert Yates was a class act.
