Bro, why would a team TELL YOU their draft plan? More importantly, why are you shocked if you;re Kiper that you got lied to? IF I was in the organization, I aint telling anyone anything. Teams find out what you want/what your plan is, you lose your leverage in trades or a team moves up to take the guy, THEY KNOW you want. Glad we stuck at 6 and didn't reach for a QB. MAlik should be a great player. This is truly Daniel Jones' prove-it year. If he doesn;t have an elite year, you gotta replace him.
I’m with you on all that except for the Jones statement. I won’t even get into all the reasons he’s not the guy, but most recently the offense immediately moved better without him and with lesser weapons.
We didn’t want Drake or JJ. The top 6 were ranked higher than Mahomes when he came out and none of them are that level. Jones will get beat out by Lock or Rookie QB, and there’s financially no reason to play him with the injury clause.
So if the Giants picked McCarthy who would he be throwing to? Them drafting Nabers made perfect sense. Kid is an incredible talent. Good on the Giants not overthinking things.

It's not even really a vote of confidence. Jones was going to start regardless of what happened in the draft. Getting Nabers is for the future. Not necessarily for Jones even though it should help. He's never had a receiver this talented.

McCarthy and Penix are almost equal. That being said, Atlanta can never justify their pick of Penix. Ever. Sota was patient and they got their guy in JJ and now they r looking ahead like the top 3 picks. Idk what Atlanta is doing but they used #8 on a bench warmer for the next 4 years

If Penix stays healthy I feel he will prove everyone who doubted him wrong. He has a great arm and can make plays even when the called pay breaks down. He is very smart and best of all he is a quality character guy who will do the falcons proud. And they can be patient with him as he learns under another great character guy in Captain Kirk. As individuals they are like the same person. Penix will grow so much under Cousins guidance. This was a great pick and a great plan for the future of the Falcons. And oh by the way, I hate the Falcons so this really pisses me off.

I'm not a huge Jones fan but they aren't winning the Super Bowl in 2024 and they have to pay him for at least one more year so play him. If it doesn't work out quarterbacks become available every year and McCarthy would have been a HUGE reach at 6. Plus the WR is a stud.

I think they tried to move up to take a qb they wanted …. Obviously wasn’t as high on JJ …. So they took an instant big play waiting to happen instead of someone that they weren’t too high on just because of position… in my opinion the correct move was made .

I don’t think the Giants want to admit they made a mistake with Daniel Jones Contract so I’m pretty sure they double down.
They definitely told the owner they made a mistake, that’s why they looked at all the qbs, he’s definitely getting cut after next season and they’re building the house for the next guy

He is having the start Eli did and has made some improvements so I think they see enough evidence to keep him another year.

JJ Mac gets a load of weapons and will have some serious numbers if he steps up (might be most productive rookie this season). Giants suck and Nabers will probably be wasted there for a few years. Bears really suck and Odunze will be wasted there (I smell super bust for the USC guy).
Giants are not a contender so they took the best person available. Now they need a QB and hopefully next year they will get a franchise QB because DJ is not it. DJ isnt the worst but he is average and a good backup QB.

I was not crazy about JJ McCarthy but Daniel Jones stinks and the Giants are not winning more then 6 or 7 games tops with Jones and Lock as their QB's by far the worst duo in the NFC east. JJ McCarthy played for a tuff hardnosed BFL coach. None of these other QBs won a national championship, plus the BIG 10 conference plays hard defense and McCarthy beat Nick Sabans bunch on the way to winning the national championship

Laughable. You can’t be serious. The eagles were an absolute disaster. Their head coach is a total clown, they lost their HOF Center to retirement and have no real viable replacement. Eagles fan here, no reason Giants should move off Daniel Jones after one bad season. Back in 22, all I heard was how great he was doing and how he was the future of the franchise.
