The offensive line was definitely worse than in previous years, but part of it was due to Bryson Barnes being a liability, teams knowing Utah was going to run the ball and when he threw he held onto the ball way too damn long. If Cam is the player he used to be, that will help improve it on just QB alone.
I’m torn about what we’re going to see in the fall from the offensive line. Cam, Whitt and others say it is one of our best groups. But going off what we know as fans and last year, there are too many question marks to have that same confidence.
Rising may not be the flashiest QB, but i think he's the most stable when it comes to smarts. I'm worried he wont be the tuck the ball runner he was when he had to. We'll see.
I think this guy made a lot of fair points but the one critique I have is that Arizona has wholes on their roster on defense from transfers that I thought weren’t filled enough. 2021 Utah had multiple holes and we went to the rose bowl. Guy made good points overall tho

Hope Rising and Daniels can stay healthy all year, the best outlook for the Big 12 is for all the teams in the league to be able to play at their peak in the eyes of cfb fans and media. That being said, no one is going to be better than Garrett Greene this year! Let's go Mountaineers!
Utah is going to be overlooked and hated in no matter what. PERIOD. Winning games and especially beating OKST will prove they’re THEM. And to be honest put all the Shit talkers in their place.
If the roles were reversed and the Big 12 collapsed and OK State or K State came to the Pac 12 and everyone said "OSU is going to be the front runner this season in the new Pac 12" Utes fans would lose their minds and go into hysterics. No one hates Utah, we are glad Utah is in the league, we just think the more vocal portion of the fanbase are obnoxious and we hope you all get a slice of humble pie. One of the big reasons Utah is favored is because of two time Pac-12 champion Cam Rising. If Shedeur Sanders was Utahs QB i would NOT have them as the favorite. S. Sanders may be a more talented QB skill wise, but MANY NFL QBs were more skilled than Tom Brady. But Brady had so many more intangibles that can't be read from stats. Cams leadership alone is night and day difference between Sanders. It just is. How many games did Sanders win last year? What a crazy take. Cam may not be the most talented, but with considering everthing, Cam has a good chance to be a three time champion, whereas Sanders will not be even though he has arguably the best WR in CB. I'll take Cam every day over Sanders. See if you can find one single teammate of Cams that says anything other than he is a warrior.?Whereas Sanders, the list is too long of past teamates who have trashed him. Just blown away at the love and respect S. Sanders is getting when he hasn't done anything significant yet. Unbelievable bad take.
Sanders had the worst offensive line in P5. Not every team that wins has a QB as a leader. It definitely helps to have one but Stepson Bennet was not the leader JJ Mcarthy was and Georgia went back to back. Wins is far from the best QB stat. If we went by wins when scouting Patrick Mahomes then he would not have been a first round pick. If you swapped Sanders and Cam Utah would still be the favorite.
@@jonathanwistrcill1336, the main points I brought up were championships and leadership (both are valueable), and you will find neither thus far in Sanders. @@davidmccurdy4350yep both OL’s where atrocious. Of course leadership is valuable and so are getting a team to the championship. It’s why I think Cam is still one of the best in college football. Yeah the Wildcats need to have alot come together but they have alot of good already going for them.
Huh
Some folks know nothing about Arizona and what they gained on the defensive line and the transfer portal
Darton from Syracuse is a guy fits what Arizona's going do on the defensive line in 2024
Jedd Fisch had one great season due to Duane Akina and Noah Fifita
Please stop 🛑 acting like Jedd Fisch is Nick Saban
Arizona was known for defense back in the day with the Desert Swarm etc
They have produced two Thorpe Award winners in Tucson and Duane Akina is the best developers of the defensive backs in the FBS currently
No one on Utah current staff can compete with a guy Hawaii guy who produced recruited and coached up
3 different Thorpe Award winners
And last time we fact checked
Cam Rising has never faced Arizona with a great defensive unit period
And historically when Arizona has a good or great coach in Tucson they beat the Utes more often than not
That is a fact not opinion
Rich Rod should have been 5 and 1 against the Utes it was not for the horrible call in the last two minutes of the 2017 game 🎯
And in all time meetings against each other
Arizona is like 20 -26-2 against Utah
And Arizona's most hated rival Tempe Normal aka Arizona State
Owns the Utes in head to head match ups
Back to the comparison in 2024
Dorian Singer the the former walk on from Minnesota who benefited from playing with the likes of T Mac and Jacob Cowing when he had that break out season in 2022
And did not do anything at USC in 2023
Singer is not a star studded wide receiver that folks in Salt Lake City think he is
Please name me scary wide receivers that Utah has that will make Dorian Singer have a great season in 2024
USC had one of the best wide receiver cores in the FBS in 2023 and Singer didn't get on the field as much
That should be a concern for real Utah fans
Dorian Singer is an average wide receiver at best
And Utah doesn't have any scary running backs like what Arizona has in Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Quali Conley and Speedy Luke
And the Utes offensive line in 2024 is not better than Jonah Savaiinaea or Josh Baker or Raymond Pulido or Leif at Arizona
Jonah Savaiinaea is a projected first round draft pick in the 2025 NFL draft
It's laughable that Utes
Think that they are better than Arizona
Despite Jedd Fisch leaving for Washington
Brent Brennan knows how to develop and coach up
Ask Brandin Cooks who he recruited at Oregon State and developed into a Biletnikoff Award winner 🏆 that currently has 6 different 1k seasons with over 1k yards
Arizona is loaded on both sides of the ball 🏈
And Jacob Manu is better than both linebackers that the Utes currently have
So ask yourself how is Utah going to control the 2024 game at home against Zona
When Arizona was a top 8 passing team two years in a row and that ain't changing in 2024 and they know have a head coach that doesn't mind running the ball 🏈
Considering the transfer Quali Conley had over 800 yards and just over 6 yards a carry as the back up running back at San Jose State in 2023
Arizona has the best secondary in the Big 12 and that ain't even close
Cam Rising is not better than Noah Fifita
Remember Fifita is not a quarterback that runs the ball as much as injury prone Rising is
And this defense in 2024 that Arizona has can take the ball away and they are going to force Utah to pass the ball to a real wide receiver not a tight end
And no one in their right mind thinks the Utes running back is going to scare Arizona when they play each other
Arizona can and will pick their poison on offense against the Utes at will
Nobody on the Utes secondary is stopping T Mac and the surprising thing is that Arizona has receivers on their current team that can have over 1k yards in 2024 and the third receiver having close to 800 yards in 2024
Hope Rising and Daniels can stay healthy all year, the best outlook for the Big 12 is for all the teams in the league to be able to play at their peak in the eyes of cfb fans and media.

Putting Utah O Line and RBs in top 5 is nuts. Makes no sense. I can see why the QB position is number 2 when you add in the back up.
Good point on the back ups! Even though they are unproven lots of guys with the potential to be elite backups in that room
Colorado got a whole team of good guys in the portal last year. How did that work out for them?
They didn’t.. they just got bodies to fill the roster. This year they have difference makers
Utah is going to be overlooked and hated in no matter what. PERIOD. Winning games and especially beating OKST will prove they’re THEM.
