The 2024 Winter Solstice Celebration with "WinteRamble" Frost Giants Parade

The 2024 Winter Solstice took place on December 21 and marked the official beginning of winter. On December 18th, the Lincoln Square Business Improvement District continued its tradition of "WinteRamble". This is the third such event and features the large Frost Giant puppets made and operated by the folks at the Processional Arts Workshop. In addition to these Frost Giants, the procession has people holding ice lanterns while portable speakers played music done by kalimbascopes. Last year I chanced upon this accidentally but this time around I was right on point before it began and I followed along on some of the route around Lincoln Square. I found it fascinating and was glad to follow it for a brief time. I think the whole procession takes about an hour in the area but I didn't stay that long. I think its an awesome presentation.
