Theres no way that the Phillies can look at the Dodger bullpen and productive disciplined postseason hitting and conclude “Yeah, we don’t need more help. Lets run it back with who we currently have.”
The Phillies need to fire Dombroski and all their coaches starting with Thompson that does not act like he even cares at all and he does not hold players accountable for not producing. He has never managed this team hardly at all or he always waited until it’s too late. With him as manager this team will be nothing but worse than they currently are. Also look at the trades Dombroski has made recently, they were not good and actually hurt the team and he even extended Thompson’s contract. They should make Nola a reliever because he is too inconsistent as a starter. Also Rojas should be a late inning defensive replacement or a pinch runner only, as he cannot hit and cannot even lay down a bunt. Somebody also needs to teach the hitters to lay off pitches that are clearly not strikes.
So you want to fire a guy that won 3 world champion and hire who ???
So, they're going to continue doing the same thing and expect different results?
If the same thing gets 95 wins, I support it.
Run it back! That mean we gonna go out on wildcard series next year. Thomson doesn’t do anything except fill out the lineup.

They were saying "that's baseball" after losing the Arizona series. I always tempered expectations this season, even when they started hot, because I knew it was the same exact team from last year, and everything that comes out of their mouths reeks of complacency. I just hope this time they're bluffing and DD actually has some plan to properly turn the page.
He basically said, "we are running this back with some minor changes and hope our luck changes." I know that coded statement well. I have been listening to Cashman say it for years.

Getting knocked out of the NLDS is a blessing in disguise. This will force Dombrowski’s hand and now he has no choice but to go get Juan Soto.
Braves are getting back a bunch of all-stars (if not MVPs / CYs) and the Mets are signing Soto. ‘25 is going to be an uphill battle.
Turner to Angels for Trout. A larger trade with the Angels could work: Bohm, Marsh, and Turner for Rengifo, Adell, and Trout. I'm sure the Angels would send Rendon, too, in any deal and would eat his contract, if the Phils had any interest at all.

I say 2025 is WS or bust. They need some more grit on this team. I think they need to break up the day care. Possibly trade Schwarber or Casty. Go all in for Soto. Revamp the bullpen. And they right back in the drivers seat. If they fail on Soto then trade one of the day care guys & go for Bellinger if he opts out.
The plan is no plan. Just get hot at the end of the year and score bunches of runs. Also, pitch really good, not giving up a bunch of runs. The perfect plan. 🤨
Maybe what the fans want is for Dave and Rob to come out in cheerleading outfits and promise we will win it all next year.

6th seed 2022 lost WS. 6th seed 2023 lost WS 6th seed 2024 now in NLCS. 2023 no 100+ win team went to the WS. Often it is not the best team that wins. Case in point the 85 win Cardinals. The hottest team usually wins.
