August 2024 bride here & we are doing a full weekend wedding because ours is a destination wedding! We wanted to encourage people to take the time to enjoy the location by building activities into our wedding, and I'm doing non-traditional/seated wedding party, AND my dress has 3D floral appliques, AND we're doing little to no 1 use plastic items 😅 I had no idea I was so on trend!
Hey Kat! Great video! I loved all the texture options you mentioned and I can't wait to see those in the upcoming 2024 season. Everything about the dresses and suits was spot-on (non-traditional bridesmaids dresses, three-piece suits, mix-match) and is going to look so great in pictures. Who was that handsome guy at 12:20? 😉
Thanks so much! I'm also SO excited to see all of the texture eye candy waiting for us in 2024 weddings!!! & yes, Hubby is definitely featured in this one- he's ahead of the trends for sure 😉
in 1984, I had most of these trends. I had a removable underskirt. So, the wedding long puffy, reception short. It was 100F. Also, we had fun shots. Including everyone in sunglasses. Wierd how everything comes back again. Married in a forest over a stream. Ceremony was acoustic. It was so 1984, we scattered disposable cameras everywhere. Today, folks could just upload shots. Time does move on.
2024 bride here. We are going with an elegant, vintage, intimate wedding on a Friday afternoon in December. The only people on the guest list are family and a handful of friends - under 40 people. Rather than the current trend of lengthy affairs, we are going with a short afternoon wedding and hor d’oeuvre reception. My dress is a custom remake of a full lace vintage gown with a custom lace veil to match. My only bridesmaid’s dress is also blue lace. His suit is a textured 3-piece custom made blue vintage morning suit. We will have some posed family photos but my fiancé has asked the photographer to do mostly documentary style photos. I have a small regular registry (mostly linens) and a cash fund registry for furniture. My fiancé is in charge of the cake since he is adamant that he wants a vintage style fancy one. All I care is that it doesn’t contain any of my allergens since I don’t want to spend my wedding night in the ER. And our decorations will be loads of blue and white florals including textured white tin lanterns decorated with florals.
I am curious if there is a trend around second weddings - they tend to be smaller and no bridal parties - but, other than that - is there something unique that is seen for older couples or second weddings? I am marrying my second husband in Spring 2025 & we both had terrible first marriages, so everyone is happy for us, but I want to make it extra special.
That’s a great question! I’m so glad you and your future hubby will have the marriage you’ve always dreamed of. I think unique wedding venues and destination weddings are a fun way of making your second wedding feel more authentically you. At the end of the day, it’s still a wedding so you can make it whatever you want it to be! 🫶
Hello, I just randomly saw your comment. I'm currently starting to plan my mom's second wedding (I'm not a wedding planner btw) and I'd say, forget all types of traditions or trends and just do what you love and what represents you as a couple. Who says there can't be a wedding party? My brother and I will be the best man and bridesmaid. If you or your future husband have children, why not make them your bridal party? Or other family members/close friends. Also, what did you enjoy during your first wedding and want to do again, and what would you change? You already had the experience of the first wedding, so use it to your advantage and make this the day of your dreams.
I’m curious about your thoughts on content creators, because this trend is here today stay! They are way more affordable than videographers, and sometimes people just prefer to see BTS and candid moments instead of a formal video.
I think they're an interesting trend for sure, and definitely a personal preference. Like I mentioned in the video, I didn't have one at my wedding because I didn't want to feel like it was all a show for social media. But if you prefer the style of video you'll get more from a content creator than a videographer then by all means hire the one you prefer! I still don't know how long it will be a trend, but always d.i.f.y. no matter how trendy anything is!
I liked the video and all your thoughts about the upcoming trends. It sounds great. But I could not watch it. I had to listen to it. The microphone covering your mouth was bothering me more than I’d like to admit lol. Maybe it’s the combo of the black hair and mic but the whole thing just threw me off. I just had the urge to lower the mic. I’m sorry but I feel like I can’t be the only one thinking this. 🙈
I’m honestly so sorry about that! I’m still getting used to recording in a new studio set up and didn’t realize how much it was blocking my mouth until I was editing the video. I promise it’ll be better in future videos 🙏 glad you still enjoyed the overall content though!
@@BridalBuzzomg you’re so sweet! I did enjoy the content regardless but I’m weird like that and was way too distracted looking at it. You definitely have like a asmr vibe to your voice so it was very soothing.
Aww thank you!! I’m honored that you think my voice sounds like asmr 🥹🫶 you should listen to the podcast too if you want to hear me talk all things weddings 🙌

Hey! That’s my event (9:50) lol
Tabitah at Winston & Main did an extraordinary job taking my vision and turning it into a much better reality.
How cool! The textures and color blocking is absolutely stunning! 😍
I have never been to a wedding, during the week in my life, it has always been on the weekend.
The trend is multi day full weekend weddings, like having events Friday, Saturday, and Sunday instead of just the traditional one day event 😊
I went to a wedding on a Wednesday. Saved the couple a lot of $. Not an ideal guest or bridesmaid experience for me. It is what it is ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I love the 3d Floral wedding dresses but hate the dresses that look like you put on your bustier and forgot your dress over it.

Everything great!
Just put the microphone lower.
your video was great - the music that started with "sustainability" on was very annoying..
A little hard looking at the large mic in the middle of your face through the complete video.
