About Paolo Nutini:
Paolo Nutini is a soul-influenced alternative singer-songwriter from Paisley, Scotland. Raised in a music-loving family, he grew up listening to a range of folk, opera, jazz, and his father's R&B favourites. Nutini's debut album, These Streets, released in 2006 achieved double-platinum status and sent the four singles 'Last Request', 'Jenny Don't Be Hasty', 'Rewind' and 'New Shoes' into the Top 40. In 2014 in was working in London.
I got a call telling me to get home to Glasgow asap, as I mother had taken seriously ill.
When I was in Euston station my brother called me to tell me my mother had passed.
I then got on the train for the 400 mile journey home.
I had 5000 tracks on my phone.
As i boarded the train and via my earphones, I pressed shuffle.... this played.
It was a long way home without you Mum.

My mom died last year, my dad in 2012. I moved to Glasgow in 2013 but somehow only discovered Paolo this year. Nevertheless, this song and Autumn are all about my mother and father to me. I listen to them every day since I found them.

@@chrisc2412 So I checked on Iron Sky and I already knew about that song. Paolo does sound good but to me Bruce is still leagues above him in every aspect ;) I recommend you listen to "Phantom of the opera" from the album "Somewhere back in Time" to hear one of bruce's best vocal performance (in my opinion)

Love this album
As my mother is passing away from cancer eminently and I am stuck two thousand miles away, this song comes to mind. A selfless, caring woman who devoted her life to her children and helping others. She will be remembered by by many but none love her the way I do. I love you Mom. I hope your eternal rest comes without further pain and suffering.

1.) Matt Corby
2.) Josh Garrels
3.) Jeff Buckley
4.) Paolo Nutino
5.) Jack Johnson
List consists of my favorite "solo" artists not bands, although Matt Corby would still be #1 no doubt, if you like Paolo, look up Matt and don't miss out. Also Josh Garrels is a great unique artist that does not fall along the lines of a stereotypical Christian artist (originality).
I feel the exact same way. One day, his cover of "I'd Rather Go Blind" popped up on UA-cam and I stopped what I was doing. I'm still so floored by him...

Barbara I suggest you to try to listen to Beth Hart, Hindi Zahra, Lhasa de Sela, Rokia Traoré, Devendra Banhart, Vashti Bunyan, Piers Faccini, Rosemary Standley,and Mathieau Boogaerts.
All those artists make great music (the genre is folk, but all of them have different influcies. Some of them are more ethnical, some of them more blues-oriented, some of them are pretty jazzy) and are pretty underrated. I hope I was of some help

I wanted to give this kid a chance and listen to a few more of his tracks. I hope he manages to do a lot better; nobody deserves to be stuck at being this bad. Personally I think it starts with the song; maybe he should get Janelle to write a few numbers for him. I never hope for anyone to fail, it's a very mean thing to wish on a stranger. And he needs to find some originality for his guitar playing, along with the rest of it.
