I am the first flamboyant natural exemple, I have send some photos to Merriam thinking I was maybe a dramatic with some softness and a natural jawline. Turns out my "softness" is in fact my "bluntness" ! I didn't think I coule be a flamboyant natural because of the celebrities exemples ( I am not a top model, and not an athletic hollywood actress). So thank you for showing other people with different weights, body shape, simpler make up and hair etc, but a similar bone structure. Very interesting !
Thanks so Manon much for modelling for us. Like you i thought I couldn't possible be an FN because of the supermodel thing. I also have a narrow waist and slender lightweight arms and wrists like you -- which I used to think would eliminate the possibility of FN or Natural. I'm much clearer now.
Manon Paquet I'm sorry in case my comment seems rude, but your eyebrows are too far away. Have you ever considered not plucking in the middle? Or are your hairs just not growing there?
FINALLY naturals with thinner waists, now seeing those i can surely say i’m a natural. i can’t choose between soft-pure-flamboyant though, my excess weight is confusing me. i look better in FN lines but my vertical line is moderate.
Right. I wasn't totally sure if I was a natural at first primarily because I have a pretty small waist even with being overweight now. Soft natural fits me very well.
Wow wow wow! All of the work you’ve put in to complete the five body types and all of your other videos. I am so grateful to you. More than you could ever know. I have so much confidence these days all because of you. I have even helped my family by having them watch your videos. We all have traded items in our closets to fit our bodies and tones. No shopping necessary. We all love you and appreciate you. We are so excited to get style consults from you. Please keep up the good work.
Im flamboyant natural and I am envious of other type because I always felt that I don't look feminine because waist emphasis doesn't look good on me at all. or that I never look "put together" because typical classic or cute stuff looks really awkward on me 😂 we always want the opposite of what we have 😆 but now thanks to Kibbe I understand why and I can try to work with my line to look the way I want .
Hey, no envy is required, all types have our challenges. As a natural my issue has always been with my wide shoulders and trying to style outfits that dont exagerate them. Discovering Kibbe has taken a huge frustration out of knowing what to wear, and appreciate my figure! ♡
@@sofiaroman1844 oh yeah, kibbe shows that all body types are beautiful in their own way! My best friend during childhood was always very long and skinny and dry in almost every feature. I always wanted to look like her and adopt her (more dramatic, structured) style. And that was a big mistake since i am most likely a soft gamine and cant deal with stiff blazers and all-black looks 🤣 In my opinion most attractive body types are classics and theatrical romantics ;)
@@sofiaroman1844 and as a soft gamine i can see that my body is very all over the place with sharp shoulders, long torso, fleshy legs but dry skinny arms, small and wide hands and feet, unproportionately narrow hips, sharp pointy jaw... haha. But soft gamine lines seem put all the pieces of the body together so for me it works and makes me feel beautiful:)
There are even an abundance of flamboyant naturals in my area. All kinds of them!!! Imagine trying to fit into this world. Where I live there aren't as many gamines or Romantics. Mostly all natural types.
I thought I was a natural for a while but thanks to your series I know I’m definitely not! I related most to soft dramatic - hopefully when I get my style report it turns out I’m right. It’s hard to judge from my picture but I see SD. Thank you Merriam and all the ladies who contributed! :)
This video literally changed my whole outlook - I was so confused about my type until I saw the woman you called a true natural and it was like seeing my body twin! I can see myself in her shape and it was such a relief. Thank you for the detailed and excellent description it was so helpful for me. And now that I know my type all my “fashion struggles” make so much sense! ❤️
Thank you to the women for sharing their photos 💕. Interesting how the Naturals like the other main types are not so common but the subtypes are. I could never understand why I looked sloppy in items some women looked amazing in . Now I know that’s the Naturals! 😊
Hey Miriam it would be helpful if you posted the ladies heights. To show there is variety of heights in real life in each of the types and make it be more inclusive.
Your videos are so educational and clear, thanks for putting so much work into them! Merriam and Aly Art are so excellent on this topic. I love aly's vids on typing men. Any chance you might cover men at some point? I would love to know how to apply the test questions to men!
So clarifying! I can totally see Scarlet Johannsen in the soft natural woman you used to compare at the end! I'm going to watch all of your real life body type series now! I'm a gamine but I love the research!
@@tomjones2157 It was Merriam oor Aly Art who put her in the soft natural category, I saw it in one of their video's. Don't know anything about her surgery haha
Is she? I thought she was a romantic cause very curvy full lips whole face very soft short bones? Oh dear I’m totally confused. I thought I was a soft natural...sorry can’t see myself and Johannson is the same category so somethings is not right... then I’m probably a different type
Firstly, the 3rd SN was giving me Molly Ringwald vibes. If she hasn’t dressed up as Claire from “The Breakfast Club” for Halloween yet, there’s a costume idea. Regarding the natural woman’s yin facial features: I’ve noticed that naturals can tend to have “open” faces. I think perhaps that accounts for the yin undercurrent in the face. I think that “openness” is how blunt yang is communicated in the face. This is noticeable even in the SNs and FNs shown in the video.
I am a flamboyant natural and my biggest insecurity is how my head looks small compared to my body. I see a similar thing in the examples here. I was searching for some ways to correct that kind of look, but I don't see anyone talking about it :(
In my opinion this is a good look and you dont have to correct it. I think it looks really long and elegant and beautiful. I think a big head look is more weird but it is good for tv lol, so they both have their benefits.
Big, tousled hair or big accessories are the key to achieve a more armonic balance imo, the opposite willl emphasize the bluntness (and that can look super gorgeous too and give that amazonian warrior vibe) Learning about Kibbe etc is imo a way to understand how clothes can work with your body structure and to better chose what YOU want to look like, working with what you have since birth and compliment yourself :) I'm still looking forward to "posing for body types" since same pose with different bone/flesh structure can give different message, and I want to actually chose when to look sexy or childish or strong or relaxed etc... Clothes & style are a way to Express oneself and it's the healthiest fastest way, so why not? :)
This is so well done. Good work!! Wow. And the ladies are all so beautiful. Thanks to them for letting us learn about the body types in a relatable way.
I was waiting for this video !! Since I started watching this videos, I always observe women in the street and I do believe there are plenty of naturals and classics in my city. So I'm really excited!!! You're doing a great job Merriam ❤️ I spend all week waiting for your videos!😂🌹
Ooooh, so that's how B shoulders look like. I thought for the longest time that I had B shoulders, but now that I'm looking at these people in the video, I realise that my shoulders (answer D) don't have any width to it. 😂
Yeah it’s super hard to look at yourself objectively! Every time I did the kibble test myself, I’d answer B to the shoulders question. When I did it with two other people it was always D lol.
It's out, I have been checking almost on a daily basis since the second to last of the series came out (the dramatic's). Again Merriam another amazing video, thank you for putting together this whole series. Very well done!❤
I ordered one of your skin tone pdfs and accidentally gave it like 1 or 2 stars and bow i dont know how to change it :( so i just want to say i liked it!
Thank you Merriam! You nailed it yet again! I’ve always thought my sister is some kind of natural but now I’m very sure she’s a soft natural because she looks very much like the girls in your video! Thanks for these videos they are incredibly helpful
Wow my mom is definitely a soft natural. I was thinking recently: if my mom is a SN , my dad I believe is a Gamine and I'm a Romantic, did I get only the softness from both? 😂😂 😂 It would be so nice if you do the body type series with men! 😘
so excited for this one Merriam! I get equal B and C, with 2 each A and D...so I'm very confused. even more so with colour. thanks so much I know this will be good ...and now I'll watch!
@@merriamstyle It could be on your website? And you could list up your available times and do it virtually? Like a virtual personal stylist? Just brainstorming, lol. You could be so big! Also, thank you soo much for ur videos! I was waiting for this one specifically for so long. #TeamPureNatural
I was looking forward to this one because I'm a SN, and your video was so much better than I could have even expected!! :) In one of your videos could you talk about how N types can achieve a 'loose neckline' without the open neck? I live in Australia and so I don't want to be getting skin damage on my upper chest every time I'm going outside, but I look weird if I wear normal T-shirts with a high neckline. Your opinions are so insightful, so I'd love to hear what you think might work. :) I really can't figure it out.
Yep, I'm a Natural living in Australia too, those high crew necklines are so awkwardly Gamine on me. Thsirts are a nightmare. Scarves and Naturals are made for each other, I always carry one in my bag to put on if I'm in the sun. Just make sure the scarf doesn't look "classic", polished or crisp. Fringes, cut edges and soft "crushy" fabrics are great. Anything with a "boho" feel should work fine.
I've been wainting eagerly for this episode, since I was almost sure that I am Soft Natural. And big thanks to the Ladies that share their photos with the world 💖 its so helpful to see real girls in comparison with my own body :) Merriam you' re doing such a greatful job 😍
Thanks for your videos! I'd love more details on how to tell what kind of bones someone has, especially cause there is flesh of varying weights over them.
Hey Merriam. One question though, I know for sure that I'm a subtype of a natural. However I'm confused whether it's a flamboyant natural or soft natural. I've tried both clothes and I think I look great on them. Basically what throws me off is my yin boobs(which is pretty big for the rest of my body) and some softness in my face. But those are my only yin features. I also have some long vertical narrow lines with my legs and arms and my hips are pretty taught straight and not as shapely as most soft naturals. Is there a possibility that I'm a Flamboyant Natural despite having bigger bust area and softer face?
Something I've been thinking about lately is traditional dress and body-types. Which body-types suit which dress? I think the áo dài and the qi poa really suit gamines, for example. Perhaps the Panamanian Pollera would suit Soft Dramatics. And of course, there are many more to think about.
Thank you for another great video! Usually, the "real life" Kibbe types clarify things for me. I thought I was a soft natural because of the yin in my bone structure. After watching the video, I am wondering if I'm more of a flamboyant natural even though I don't have an athletic build. My face has a bit of angularity and structure. I prefer long lines, monochromatic outfits, draping, and v-necks. How do you decide if you are a soft or flamboyant natural?
@@tomjones2157 Yes, to be fair, it must be difficult to answer everyone. I also don't want her to think I'm asking for "free" advice. On the other hand, I finished watching this video with more questions than answers.
I think it's safe to say I'm a soft natural now that I've seen the ladies in the video 😊. But, I have 2 questions if that's okay? 1) Is it normal for soft naturals for their hips to be on the wider side? I have slightly wider hips, giving me a bit of a pear shape. Is that shape common in soft naturals? 2) I've seen Aly Art video on where she typed Kim K as a soft natural. Do you think it's accurate? And as always, thank you so much for this video Meriam! 😊🙌 I was really looking forward to this natural vid ☺
Anouschka Bernice hi, fellow natural! I am a fan of Aly, too. Remember, Kim has changed her body! Aly was looking at old pictures, wondering what type Kim was originally.
There is so much wisdom in your videos Merriam. I am wondering why Kibbe dropped the pure natural from his system? I feel this one suits me best! and think it needs to be there! Thank you for explaining the differences so thoroughly.
Hey Merriam, great vid! Help - is there a reason there is more out there on Soft Natural as opposed to just Natural? I THINK I'm SN but I can't find much on just plain Natural for comparison, since every time the Natural type is discussed, it seems to default to either SN or FN. Please clarify if possible. Thank you!! ❤️❤️❤️
I thought I was a theatrical romantic/romantic for a long time and your videos have helped me realize I'm actually a soft natural 😂 should've known because my favorite outfit for the summer is wide leg flowing linen pants with an oversized crop tee. Oops.
So, I go back and forth on whether I’m a short Flamboyant Natural (I just under 5’5”) or a Flamboyant Gamine. The lady at 14:53, I have a very similar face shape to hers, square jawline and tall, somewhat slanted forehead. I’m not familiar with “ethereal essence” but I’m guessing it has something to to with having a fairy or elf-like appearance which I don’t see in me. My eyes and nose might be a little bigger, my breast might be bigger while my hips are narrower. My torso is long while my arms and legs aren’t short exactly but are average to slightly smaller than average and small in proportion to my torso. I think of how I’m different from that lady and realize those might be my contrasts and think maybe I’m a Flamboyant Gamine.
Ok, I have this question that has been bothering me alot. Taylor swift is typed as a Flamboyant Natural, yet she wears alot of different styles. Her most iconic style is quite similar to gamine's style, shorts, cute mini dresses or brightly colored skirts or tops. And she looks amazing in them. She looks good in classic style. Taylor swift's hairstyle is also constantly changing, she loves her retro styled hair and even clothes. She does wear naturals style but I dnt see them as often as I see her in gamine type clothes. I read somewhere that she dresses more her face which is more like a Gamine's face, which is why she is able to pull off gamine style clothes. But I am unable to understand what that means.
Meriem Zed True, she does look quite tall and she has long lean arms and legs. But she does have blunt features and there are some pics of her along side other female celebrities, where you can see that she has wider torso. But yaa I am not 100% sure how she is a FN, or how she is able to pull off classic or gamine style dresses so effortlessly. Or what does it mean that she has a Gamine face, I think the article I read regarding the face part, is on Truth Is Beauty website.
Well, that's interesting! I looked her up and... I don't like her in FN styles. They wear her instead of the other way around. Maybe she is actually a gamine of some sort? She's got those blunt shoulders but her bones in general seem sharp to me, especially her elbows and knees (i mean, sharper than elbows and knees usually are of course). And she seems somehow gangly-pretty, rather than strong-pretty, I guess I associate that with Gamines.
Hi I love your videos! This video on naturals definitely helped clarify some things for me. I have a question about height: is it possible for a flamboyant natural to be of average height, say around 5’4” or 5’5”? They would have all the features and the long vertical line, only slightly shorter overall than the traditional FN?
Yesssss! Been waiting for this! Its a Merriam video and Natural addition, instant like! ♡ Still sure I'm SN, one problem Im having is finding a coat that suits me, too many are heavy with strong structured lines, Ive trided on so many and I feel swamped! Any advice?

Maybe take some inspo from vintage photos?
If you have wide shoulders, have muscles in your arms, legs and stomach. You are probably soft natural. If you have some fleshiness in your bones and face you are probably soft classic. Sometimes i feel like you am i soft classic or soft natural ?Discover your lines :)
Brandi Davis Thanks! I just watched that comparison. Still a bit confused. Do you think I might be a FN? I'm 5'7, overweight, pretty flat chest, no butt, no hips (apple shape); very wide skeleton, long vertical line with sloped round shoulders. Lips and eyes are option B, I have wide nose and wavy hair, and when losing weight, I get an alien/inverted triangle face shape, lol (literally).
Svensk Bonbon. SD primarily have length/sharpness in their bones (Yang) topped with shapely/soft flesh (yin). FN have primarily broader bones (soft Yang) with length/sharpness (Yang).
@@svenskbonbon do you have wider shoulders, straight maybe? Its all about, how clothing falls and drapes on your body. If you have those kind of shoulders, are taller and long lines suit you, as well as big statement jewelry, chunky and extravagant earrings for example, you might really be a flamboyant natural. Can you see amazonian essence, do you seem strong, confident, a little more "knowing" than the average Person? Do People look out for your opinion and want to be your friend? Having width ( compared to your own body) and a vertical line could translate to flamboyant natural, but its important to look at yourself with new eyes and without comparison with everybody else. A short woman with longer limbs and vertical line, with narrow bones and sharpness in the face can be a dramatic type, Short women can be any type. Being taller, the ids will have to be yangier, no theatrical romantic bigger than 5"5, cause the vertical line would add to much yang to still fit into the id. So in your case, if you dont have width compared to yourself and your skelleton is rather narrow, but longboned and you have overweight, you could be a dramatic. But having wider features really sounds, like FN could be the id, where you fit in.
No. Gamines have thinner delicate bones. Its not well known but Flamboyant Naturals can also be very short. I saw a girl on the kibbe boards who was only 5'3" that kept getting typed as a FG or a Romantic by the general public for over a year because of her height and having smaller shoulders and wider hips and slight cuteness in her face. She brought a whole wardrobe based around cutesy styles but wasn't comfortable. Everyone was ignoring the large blunt bones in her face and and very large powerful wide calves, larger hands ect that rule out gamine and romantic. Kibbe actually contacted her personally and solved the mystery. He said she should keep WELL away from any Romantic or Gamine lines as her bones weren't narrow enough. He said she is actually a Flamboyant Natural which surprised nearly everyone. Now LOVES her new wardrobe and looks fantastic in all her new FN pics she posted, as well as getting great feedback at work.
I am honestly so confused, I'm a natural body type I think but I don't feel like the recommended styles make me feel pretty like made out to be by experts. I'm not sure I just feel the look is too mature, I've been struggling with insecurity on how I look and feel with things like my shoulders and smaller hips, it's helpful to know what I am atleast but it's not really me, what should I do?
If I may note something, Kibbe is about honouring your lines and I'd say it works well, so if you dress as a natural your shoulders will look harmonious with your body. Try not to correct your perceived "flaws". But also let me tell you I think wide shoulders look great!
Ok, maybe someone has an opinion on this. I think I am a soft natural, it's the type I was instantly drawn to when I started learning about this system, and I already have SN clothes in my wardrobe and I really love the lines..oversized and chunky, like Merriam said in her other SN video, that fits exactly. Regarding the test, I really think I do have a soft yang bone structure, but what "worries" me is that I am 5'5, and naturals are supposed to be taller. Although SN can be 5'5, too. I am half european and half asian (Philippines), so of course they are in general more petite. So although I feel wide in bone structure, compared to regular Europeans of course I am smaller and not "wide" (I wear size xs-s). So, can I still be a soft natural? The descriptions fit so well and I love it, but the height and width - topic irritates me a little...
I'm a soft natural and I'm 5"5 too! You definitely can be shorter and be a soft natural. It's more about the lines in your body rather than your height. I have long legs and a slightly longer torso, so even though I'm not tall I have a strong vertical line. I also understand about the width thing. I have a slight width to my shoulders but it's not super obvious because im still a fairly small person. But i definitely know I'm a soft natural because no other type really fits me. So im sure you could be as well!
I am a little confused here. I have a face of flamboyant natural but I am not that tall. But I definitely have wide blunt shoulders and a general look of naturals.
I heard from her other videos that actual height doesn't really matter but the vertical line does matter, which means how tall you look to others regardless of your real height. Or maybe consider natural?
Oh man now I’m thinking with my wide bones and my long (in proportion to my body) limbs I could be a soft natural. I just am so confused. I tried to take the quiz and I honestly can’t make heads or tails of what some of the stuff means and how to answer correctly.
By your pfp, I notice you have a very FN facial structure, if that’s any help. (You have straight lips, and straight eyes, with a non-fleshy nose, and your facial bones are there but not as sharp as a dramatic. So a nice and powerful yang undercurrent with a very small touch of yin!!)
As a soft natural who likes to stay warm in the winter as well, I’d say first of all that “soft drapey” seems to sometimes be misunderstood. For SN it’s not meant as thin, ethereal or filmy. (Perhaps that’s more suited to romantic?) More so, it is about texture and structural “drape” and feel. Natural fibres, which are most flattering for SN fall across the body in a certain way. So, gorgeous warm woolen knits, tunic sweaters, cardigans don’t have to be thin to drape well. What SN should be probably not go for is a knit that is too boxy, too round, cropped style, tight at the neck or a button up style. I actually love sweater dresses and think they suit SNs really well. The other option with lighter knits is to layer. Actually living in a Northern climate, a tend to always layer in the winter. I think SN is lucky that it goes with the style. Another tip is wrap scarves are a magnificent accessory, versatile, add some very nice unfussy pop and keeps your neck warm in drafty places! As a SN, I have very little pattern (except for subtle textural detail) in my wardrobe, as it’s often too busy or fussy. But, some pattern in a loose wrap scarf is just up my alley. Hope that helps a bit 😁
Is it possible for a soft natural to be very pear-shaped with narrow shoulders? My friend is 5'2, and has the long neck, long arms with large hands and feet (for her height), but with a very yin romantic shaped torso. She looks quite sturdy and toned below the chest (chest and shoulders are small and narrow compared to the rest of her). Her face has a mix of gamine and soft natural. She looks really good in long, soft natural lines, boho stylizations, and long, wild curly hair. What confuses me is the narrow chest+shoulders...I have never seen examples of SN with pear shapes, all seem to have broader upper bodies...is it even possible? Or is she more likely to be SG or TR?
I think natural doesnt mean ones dont have pear-shaped body ,as long as you look good in natural line .I didnt think i am soft natural at first because I'm flat chested ,and all examples i saw are people with pretty curvy upper body, but then i found out I look best in soft natural line. It's not one particular part make you soft natural ,you have to look overall view of the body
Are wrap dresses more of a FN/N thing? I think I'm an SN but I look horrible in wrap dresses -- they make me look wide and like I have no waist despite being quite thin and having an elongated waist. What about long, straighter skirts? I tried a draped neckline with waist emphasis and a long skirt, and something felt off about it to me. I guess I'm having trouble telling the difference between what makes an outfit N, FN, and SN if it still has waist emphasis.
@@merriamstyle: I have long arms. I have a long waistline, but my fingertips reach the bottom of my thighs. I think my bones are pretty yang, but I have very yin flesh (hourglass, always 'soft' flesh even when I'm really thin, very round face, big eyes). I considered SG but I think my shoulders are too wide and too busy of little prints overwhelm me. I absolutely need waist definition and soft fabrics. I considered SC, but I feel like I am too much a mix of yin / yang parts of my body, without any of it being the C blend.
I don't understand. The Flamboyant natural at 11:27 is STRIKINGLY hourglass. No question about it. Why do you say she is not hourglass and not straight when she is clearly hourglass?

I thought I was a natural for a while but thanks to your series I know I’m definitely not! I related most to soft dramatic - hopefully when I get my style report it turns out I’m right. It’s hard to judge from my picture but I see SD.
Thank you Merriam and all the ladies who contributed! :)
You are most definitely right, I can see it very much in your facial structure
This video literally changed my whole outlook - I was so confused about my type until I saw the woman you called a true natural and it was like seeing my body twin! I can see myself in her shape and it was such a relief. Thank you for the detailed and excellent description it was so helpful for me. And now that I know my type all my “fashion struggles” make so much sense! ❤️
Wow, naturals are so beautiful! Now the 5 videos are done! I'm so glad for them, thank you
Naturals have such a unique charm... the last lady was WOW!
I appreciate the diversity of women in this video! Thank you!
So clarifying! I can totally see Scarlet Johannsen in the soft natural woman you used to compare at the end! I'm going to watch all of your real life body type series now! I'm a gamine but I love the research!
Scarlet has has alot of plastic surgery and fillers to make her softer I saw a kibbe stylist talking about on a board.
@Jagoda Hoffmann i dont understand why people keep saying Scarlett is curvy, i honestly dont see it :l
Firstly, the 3rd SN was giving me Molly Ringwald vibes. If she hasn’t dressed up as Claire from “The Breakfast Club” for Halloween yet, there’s a costume idea.
Regarding the natural woman’s yin facial features:
I’ve noticed that naturals can tend to have “open” faces.
Big, tousled hair or big accessories are the key to achieve a more armonic balance imo, the opposite willl emphasize the bluntness (and that can look super gorgeous too and give that amazonian warrior vibe)
Learning about Kibbe etc is imo a way to understand how clothes can work with your body structure and to better chose what YOU want to look like, working with what you have since birth and compliment yourself :)
I'm still looking forward to "posing for body types" since same pose with different bone/flesh structure can give different message, and I want to actually chose when to look sexy or childish or strong or relaxed etc...
Clothes & style are a way to Express oneself and it's the healthiest fastest way, so why not? :)
Yup even I am the same way, I hate it sometimes
It's so hard to tell when it comes to looking at ourselves, right?!
Yeah it’s super hard to look at yourself objectively! Every time I did the kibble test myself, I’d answer B to the shoulders question. When I did it with two other people it was always D lol.
SUPER helpful. I could not decide if I was flamboyant natural until your real life examples.
It's out, I have been checking almost on a daily basis since the second to last of the series came out (the dramatic's). Again Merriam another amazing video, thank you for putting together this whole series. Very well done!❤
Thanks to the kind and beautiful ladies who accepted to share their pictures
Most awaited video.. thankyou so much
I ordered one of your skin tone pdfs and accidentally gave it like 1 or 2 stars and bow i dont know how to change it :( so i just want to say i liked it!
It would be so nice if you do the body type series with men! 😘
It's cool to imagine how the types blend together and what they produce. My mom is a Theatrical Romantic, I got my sharpness from her :)
My mom is definitely a soft dramatic and my dad is more of a flamboyant natural. I am soft natural! 😊
so excited for this one Merriam! I get equal B and C, with 2 each A and D...so I'm very confused. even more so with colour. thanks so much I know this will be good ...and now I'll watch!
Relating to soft natural now that I have studied for longer. Phew
Well you have finally convinced me that I am a flamboyant natural. The images of regular people helped!
thanks again for your assessment. now, when do we go shopping together... 🤣
Ah that would be so amazing I’ve been thinking it would be so fun to set up an event but have no idea how to get started planning something like that!
@@merriamstyle It could be on your website? And you could list up your available times and do it virtually? Like a virtual personal stylist? Just brainstorming, lol. You could be so big! Also, thank you soo much for ur videos! I was waiting for this one specifically for so long. #TeamPureNatural

Great video, thank you! Would you consider making a round-up of this series, comparing the main types?
I was looking forward to this one because I'm a SN, and your video was so much better than I could have even expected!! :)
In one of your videos could you talk about how N types can achieve a 'loose neckline' without the open neck? I live in Australia and so I don't want to be getting skin damage on my upper chest every time I'm going outside, but I look weird if I wear normal T-shirts with a high neckline.
Your opinions are so insightful, so I'd love to hear what you think might work. :) I really can't figure it out.
You could always drape a long, lightweight scarf around your neck to create a "lose neckline effect" over the shirt. I think that could do the trick.
@@Dragking38 Yeah, or wearing a scarf in between lapels or v-neck so it covers the chest.
Love this series, LOOOVE your explanations, you truly have a gift! Thank you, Merriam. 😊🌸
I've been wainting eagerly for this episode, since I was almost sure that I am Soft Natural. And big thanks to the Ladies that share their photos with the world 💖 its so helpful to see real girls in comparison with my own body :) Merriam you' re doing such a greatful job 😍
I'm pretty sure this is my category 🤩. Thank you for the evals..and thanks ladies for the examples!
Thanks for your videos! I'd love more details on how to tell what kind of bones someone has, especially cause there is flesh of varying weights over them.
The soft natural looks really similar to me. I'm still in doubt about what i am, but this video surely cleared some of the questions i had :)
Thank you for the photos ladies
Best examples ever!!!
I struggle to figure out which natural I am but I know I’m a natural.
Kate Upton is too!
I'm an FN and I have the same features, larger bust and soft eyes and lips. I think it's definateky possible
Thank you Merriam. Another amazing video 💕💖
Wow, I was confused thinking that they all had the same bone structures but just different flesh ooh wow
Something I've been thinking about lately is traditional dress and body-types. Which body-types suit which dress? I think the áo dài and the qi poa really suit gamines, for example. Perhaps the Panamanian Pollera would suit Soft Dramatics. And of course, there are many more to think about.
Oohhh this is a great idea!
Might i add that Indian styles might look great on Naturals! :D
I love your videos very educational and so helpful! - Soft Classic
Its a shame she doesn't answer questions. There is a facebook kibbe group that helps out with that.
Liv Tyler is a soft natural with slightly wider hips in her bikini photos.
Oops.
That's what I thought I was but I hate SN clothing...
WOW WOW WOW! I would love to send you my photos as well!
You're amazing Merriam! :)
Thanks a loot Merriam 👍👍🌺🌺🌺. Very helpful explanation.
This was really helpful! Thank you! I struggled to determine whether I am a N or a FN, so now I finally know
Ok, I have this question that has been bothering me alot.
You're right I was wondering that to but to me she's a pure dramatic or a dramatic classic, don't think she is a natural
She's Dramatic.
Hi I love your videos! This video on naturals definitely helped clarify some things for me. I have a question about height: is it possible for a flamboyant natural to be of average height, say around 5’4” or 5’5”? They would have all the features and the long vertical line, only slightly shorter overall than the traditional FN?
This was great. Thank you to the lovely ladies for contributing.
Unfortunately I am *still* confused!
Great series!
oh I think I might be natural or soft natural. I can't wait to do the consultation thing. I just need to get my confidence up lol

I noticed that styles from the 70s seem very SN-friendly, and catered to all types of naturals in general. Maybe take some inspo from vintage photos?
I don’t know if I am a classic/soft classic or soft natural....
If you have wide shoulders, have muscles in your arms, legs and stomach. You are probably soft natural. If you have some fleshiness in your bones and face you are probably soft classic. Sometimes i feel like you am i soft classic or soft natural ?Discover your lines :)
The first FN all-white outfit - in love!!
What are the main differences between soft dramatics and flamboyant naturals? And which body type has the biggest/widest bones?
Svensk Bonbon. FNs will have wider shoulders and bones. Merriam’s video comparing Aishwarya Rai and Priyanka Chopra helps explain the differences.
Svensk Bonbon. Based on that, you sound like a FN
If the girl at 13:00 was short, would she be a Flamboyant Gamine?
No cause gamines dont have width in bones.
@@tomjones2157 I'm Soft Natural but hate the style, and prefer Romantic, apart from chiffon. Is that bad?

@@TaxingIsThieving ah okie thanks~
Wow! What a great Video - is this soft natural? Would you tell me if I am soft natural, If i would send you some pictures of my body and face? :)
i wish i could pay someone to make a consult to me cause i have been frying my head for over 7 months now tryna find out what is my damn body type
I've come to the conclusion I'm SN but hate the styles. No idea why "loose" or "slight" waist emphasis is best when I have an hourglass figure.
How can I private consult you ma,i really need some help in changing my wardrobe.
How can we naturals make our shoulders look less wide? 😭
If I may note something, Kibbe is about honouring your lines and I'd say it works well, so if you dress as a natural your shoulders will look harmonious with your body. Try not to correct your perceived "flaws". But also let me tell you I think wide shoulders look great!
@@ju2082 I’m not who you were responding to, but this was really nice! :)
I have those as well. I just avoid puffy sleeves, bulky knits, and spaghetti straps.
Soft Natural here. 5’6 and 210. 😊
8:01 I think I recognize her from a comment .....
Can one be a 5'4 soft natural ?
Yes, I am 😊
Oh cool. then there's a chance I'm soft natural as well but I'm still a bit confused. You look awesome in the video btw !
So if your shoulder and hip is the same width by just looking and you have slight waist definition...you aren’t a natural ?
I'm confused. I have broad shoulders and wide hips = hourglass = soft natural.
I've been told by some that I'm SN and others that I'm FN. I honestly can't decide which I am 😂
@@sarahelo009 thank you for that! I recently asked the kibbe reddit group as well and the consensus was also FN
I find it really hard to dress warm as a soft natural in winter. As most soft drapy fabrics are quite thin and not so much warm. Any tips for that?
Can you do soft classic vs soft natural?
Would you say Bindi Irwin is a soft natural?
I guess I'm having trouble telling the difference between what makes an outfit N, FN, and SN if it still has waist emphasis.
maybe you're a romantic?? do you have short arms and legs, even if let's say they're wider in bone, are they short?
@@merriamstyle: I have long arms. I have a long waistline, but my fingertips reach the bottom of my thighs. I think my bones are pretty yang, but I have very yin flesh (hourglass, always 'soft' flesh even when I'm really thin, very round face, big eyes). I considered SG but I think my shoulders are too wide and too busy of little prints overwhelm me. I absolutely need waist definition and soft fabrics. I considered SC, but I feel like I am too much a mix of yin / yang parts of my body, without any of it being the C blend.
Do jeans, tight at the middle and but, fit Flamboyant Naturals?
I don't understand. The Flamboyant natural at 11:27 is STRIKINGLY hourglass. No question about it. Why do you say she is not hourglass and not straight when she is clearly hourglass?
Exactly. 🚶🏻♀️
Can you be a soft natural with a waspish waist?
Okay I'm terrible at this, I need you to look at a photo of me and tell me!
Hey, do you still make consults about the body type?
yes I do!
Merriam, are 'natural' body types commonly found with very short ladies (5'3'' & under)?
I'd say less common than with taller people but you can be a natural and short.
