been working on cars for over 45 years and this is the best video on how to do the brakes, No need to take the upper bolts off . He did it the right way
I just replaced my front break pads on my 15 explorer sport. First time in my life I change my own break pads since I always paid for the service. Paid 50 for the pads + your video = done. Thanks bro for making it easy
You welcome bro that means alot to me i love helping people out and to save them money 💯 i got more videos coming on the Ford explore can you subscribe to my channel if thats cool if you have any questions hit me up on ig @ coolkid86 thank you again
Now I am ready to change the brakes of my Explorer 2015 thanks to your video... Thank you friend you saved me like $ 300 dollars. Greetings from Edinburg TX and here is a new subscriber.
I would advise to grease the contact points in the brackets where the pads make contact. This allows pads to slide in/out as the pistons release. Also take the caliper off and clean and re-grease the caliper bolts. BOTH bolts. Use brake cleaner to clean brake dust from pistons. You depend heavily on your brakes. Dont cut corners
One of the shortest and straight forward videos and if u have lube slap a little lube on the pads and caliper pins always good to keep stuff lubed up a little. Depending if u get winter weather or not.. A lube always helps everything lol thanks for sharing bro.
You got this if you have any questions feel free to hit me up on youtube comments im quick to respond back im going to make a ig for all my subscribers to hit me up soon so they call if they have any questions can you subscribe to my channel if thats cool
good video ,,, see now if i hadnt seen this video i would of taken off both bolts out of the caliper instead of swinging it back ,,,, just wouldnt thought of doing that ,,, now i know got to do mine tomorrow all the way around on my 2015 ford exployer ,,, just did my 2015 ford f150 it went smooth on my truck ,,,,
Fantastic advice! Only removing 1 of the Caliper Bolts is PRICELESS. The screwdriver technique is perfect for the removal. But, I needed to use a C-clamp to close the calipers all the way. Thanks.
You need to add caliper grease to them clips and to both caliper bolts in order for caliper to slide easily back and forth. And to torque them to 55 foot lbs. Them threads are probably stripped ramming them on with the impact. Good job
@@lobssangmarrero4781 it depends what kind of brake job you’re doing, if it’s just a pad swap and you check the pins and they appear to have enough lubrication you can tighten them up confidently. If it’s been quite awhile and you notice a lack of grease or some stoppage. It’s definitely time to do a full service. Grease, pins, brake bleed, fluid swap, the works.
You forgot the part where you have to close the calipers to get the brakes on looks like those brakes you took off were pretty wore out there's no way that caliper going there that easy. Other than that pretty simple stuff..
Thank you for the comment but I didn’t forget anything and the calibers did go in smooth and easy and I didn’t have to push the calibers no more and the new brakes with in no problem thank you 💯🔑

Do you know if the Sport Explorer uses the same pads? It’s AWD and I’m curious if it’s the same process.

I would recommend replacing all hardware instead of just pads. I'd replace pads and rotors, it's more time consuming but works out way better.
Cool keep doing your thing

I don’t comprehend why other folks suggest to take off the top one as well if they are not even changing the rotors.
💯
To clean and lubricate the sliding pins for a complete brake job which can seize up if not done….
💯🦾
